Also we never received the e-mail with the extra protection for this solar panel which we paid extra money for.

We value the experience you have with Ring, and want to ensure that the products you purchase with us are meeting the standards they’re intended to provide. Extending the time between manual recharges of your Ring battery is important when it comes to monitoring activity around your home.
The Ring Solar Panel requires several hours of direct sunlight each day to recharge the battery. The accessories' ability to recharge varies based on device settings, motion notifications and sun exposure in the area of placement. If you've brought the battery inside, fully charged it using the USB charging cable, and once inserted into the camera it does not read as fully charged, a hard reset may be needed. To perform the reset, please locate the setup button on your camera. Next press and hold down the setup button for 20 seconds and then release. The camera will take about one minute to complete the reset. Please allow a couple of minutes and then attempt a brand-new set up within the Ring app. Once the new setup is complete, please check the battery charge within your Ring app.

Does Not Charge Ring Stick Up Camera

Over a week of sunny days with the panel on the roof with open view of the sun, the settings on the camera set to medium for most things, the battery continued to drop each day. Worse yet, there’s no real way of telling if the panel is doing anything. First day it was seen as a power outlet source. Second day it was only showing a lighting bolt in the battery. The rest of the days, in the morning when light hits the panel, the battery level would jump to 100%. When the sun went down, the battery level went back to lower than it was before.

They do not appear to charge the batteries as much as I would have hoped. I ended up putting a second battery in each unit so it would stay operational and some of them need to be recharged.
