Criticism of this game refer to it as “Tears of the Kingdom lite.” There are quite a few similarities, but this game stands on its own. Puzzles are fun to solve, solutions are plentiful, and the game just begs you to “break” the world. Traditional dungeons are back, along with “rifts” which are mini dungeons that are perfect for the handheld aspect of the Switch. Controls are tight and intuitive, and the game works well in handheld mode. Additionally, it’s the first game you can actually play as the titular Princess (we don’t count those CD-i games). Strongly recommended for now or as a gift for the holiday season.

Another great Zelda game. Yes, 2D but this game has an over-world almost 10x the size Links Awakening! Elements from other past Zelda games clearly installed in this new game. Great play action. Not too bad frame rate considering age of Switch system circa 2017. Great last Zelda game for Switch before Nintendo releases Switch 2 perhaps in 2025. If you are a Zelda game fan then get this game.

You've seen this before! Another good Zelda title for your handheld. If you are about gaming on the go, love Zelda titles, puzzle, action puzzlers on a 2D map (think Link's Awakening) - You will love this! Be warned - the menu system can get overwhelming, Zelda doesn't fight, she uses ghost minions that can fight, pull her, track enemies, even a shadow Link that uses arrows and fights with a master sword. It can get hectic on screen with multiple enemies and friends alike. Practically every enemy defeated becomes a Shadow minion you can use, so gone are the days of simple Zelda menus. This game is massive, but very good though. My wife loves Breath of the Wild, loves puzzles, and this one whether on TV or handheld is a welcome addition.

What makes Echoes of Wisdom so special is how it honors the spirit of the older games while giving us something new to discover. The puzzles feel clever without being overwhelming, the story carries the same timeless sense of adventure, and the gameplay loop kept me hooked in the exact same way I felt when I first held a Game Boy and explored Hyrule decades ago.

I have always wanted a Zelda main character game and this did not disappoint. Fun and familiar, you forget that it is a different character.

I just started it a few days ago and I have liked it a lot so far, play and control mechanics feels different since it's a "new" TLOZ, but playing with princes zelda instead of link, it took me a litle time to get used to it but still a great game

A must have if you're into the legend of Zelda series, this is the first Zelda game without link as the main protagonist and honestly it was nice playing as Zelda for once

Super fun game! Lots of charm! If you enjoy Links Awakening, you’ll enjoy this! Runs really well, especially on switch 2! It’s also fun for younger kids as well.

This is a solid 2D Zelda game where you actually don’t play as link. Similar to links awakening in how it looks and plays.

Fun little game that incorporated all old school Zelda features with a twist of new ones! I’m loving the gameplay as it involves a lot of puzzle solving and there are multiple ways to solve it

Not in my top 3 Zelda games but it was a blast to play! I really like the new ways of how you interact with items and the world around you. Its not as difficult as previous titles and theres always multiple solutions to each puzzle, but id say its on the same open world level as breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom considering I explored the majority of the map before even starting the first temple.

I'm a diehard Zelda fan. I wasn't as excited for this game as I was for TOTK, but I broke down and bought it the day after it came out. It's an awesome Zelda game with a very different approach that I think holds true to the classic games. The easiest way to describe it is if they took the Link's Awakening remake game engine and made a BOTW style map with TOTK mechanics. SPOILER: you DO get to play as Link at times (which is my favorite part). Overall I'd say it's a worthy addition to the Zelda series with a very fresh approach to a classic game. There's also some pretty cool lore that addresses topics almost any Zelda fan has probably thought about before.

Another great Zelda game, close to the dungeon crawler of the original

I loved this game. Zelda as a playable character was fresh for a mainline Zelda game, but it was the echoes abilities that did it for me. This game was like Zelda meets Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive series. Tri is basically a spren, lending itself to be formed into all sorts of weapons to get past dungeons, bosses, enemies, and puzzles. Abilities improve as you level up, too. The Rifts were like Shadesmar to a certain extent, and the main big bad, Null, was similar in personality and actions to Odium. I know this game isn’t for everyone, but it checked all the boxes (and then some) for me! I will definitely replay it in the future!

Great game. Fun gameplay, story, and graphics. I would highly recommend this game. A bit of a twist from the previous titles but no spoilers. Just know, the game is great.

Another great addition to the Zelda lineup and this time it features Princess Zelda herself. Everyone in our family enjoyed it from our 7 year old to the adults!
Haven’t actually finished the game yet but it’s really cute. It’s in the style and obviously using the same game engine as the remake of Links’s Awakening for the switch. It’s great that they released this because TotK in my opinion wasn’t as good as I had hoped. I would rather have one of these games every year or two than go 6+ years between titles. I’ve owned pretty much every Zelda title since the gold cartridge on NES and this one has great throwbacks to so many of the classics. The new mechanics are also a lot of fun.

a fantastic game with a new unique spin on the tried and true zelda story, only this time your playing as zelda on a mission to save the world, and maybe your friend link as well.

Haven’t yet found the time to beat it, but the game has been great so far, a very fresh take on the 2d zelda experience
