This is actually a rerelease of the classic Wii game, and it is a very good looking one at that. Don’t expect Breat of the Wild level graphics, but it has been upcoverted to a higher resolution. Zelda is always the place to go for fun, adventurous gameplay, and while it feels a little older when compared to the newest Main Zelda game, it is still a fun ride. I’d tend to stay away from the motion controls, but it is a great option to have.

Being a long time Zelda fan. I never played Skyward Sword when it first release on the Wii, and that was due to me skipping the Wii. Now gotten the chance to play the game it is really fun. With the option of have control or motion control is a really nice touch. The visual have been improve as well. Plus some quality of life improvement from what I see on my own research from the Wii version. I must have for Zelda fans or beginners alike.

As a Zelda fanatic, I buy anything Nintendo pumps out, but I did enjoy playing this game again. Constant 60fps and HD upgraded graphics made this game very easy on the eyes but not all textures were polished as well as others. As for controls, they're fine except selecting and pulling out your items from the bag will get you frustrated in a boss fight since you have to let go of the control stick to pull out your selected item. 2nd dungeon boss was really annoying due to this and takes some practice getting acclimated. No other real complaints here, though I will note I did not use the skyward sword amibo during my playthrough, and it really doesn't effect the game play much.

As a long time Nintendo fan I grew up playing The Legend of Zelda from the time I was six years which was the time I got into video games. Ocarina of Time was the most fun game ever and at 17 years old was when I heard about Skyward Sword being released on the Wii that I had to play. I was thrilled hearing they ported it onto the Switch remastering it in HD which was absolutely a game worth getting again and it’s forever one of the most memorable games I enjoyed playin

Amazing remake. Don't walk . . .run to purchase this game. It is the best version and all of the major publications have given it stellar reviews. And it's awesome to pay it on the go. One slight issue is that the controls are not perfect every time, but the rest of the experience more than makes up for it. That's just a function of porting from the Wii. Oh well. Great graphics!

An incredible remaster of an already great Zelda game! It runs at 1080p 60FPS and makes the original vision of SS shine even more. Streamlined gameplay, shippable cutscenes plus the option for button controls make this a great way to experience this somewhat divisive Wii entry in the Zelda franchise. It's the most linear Zelda...but it does great things with that linearity when it really gets going.

While the graphic is only minor tweaks, but the controls on the other hand is surprisingly good because while the motion controls is not perfect, but it still good and for those who don’t like motion controls, you can turn off the motion controls and focus on the right stick for sword combat and while is not perfect, but is good it just that need to work for it, and camera free and there is a catch is press L and right stick to move the cameras around (only if motion controls are off). Although flying on the bird is fun if only camera is free too. Overall the game is good and I would recommend for those who are Zelda fans or don’t like motion controls.

Skyward Sword details some of the earliest events of the Zelda franchise. This HD remaster does a great job of improving the graphical fidelity as well as offering more traditional button controls instead of just motion controls. Both control schemes work rather well. Plenty of fun puzzles and adentures to be had in this game!

The graphics are a lot smoother than the Wii version. You can pan the camera around which is a great addition to this version. The motion controls needed a bit recalibration, but wasn't much of an issue. The button only controls for the sword is my preferred way of playing this game. It makes it much easier. I definitely recommend this game. This is the definitive way to play Skyward Sword.

So far it’s okay. Now let me emphasize I HATE motion controls. With a passion so I was extremely judgmental of this game as I played the original and never finished it because I couldn’t stand the gameplay this one makes use of buttons and makes it much easier for me to enjoy without swinging my arms around. For someone who works with his arms all day the last thing I wanted was to use them to play Zelda. Now for the bad these button controls still kind of blow. They can’t really be edited to suit you you just have to deal with it and while I love the attempt this just isn’t the best Zelda has to offer IMHO

When The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword first released, it was at the tail end of the Wii's lifespan, so a lot of folks missed out on this gem of a game. Now that it is on Switch, Zelda fans are in for more of a treat than they were initially. Not only does the game look and sound better than ever, but if you were not particularly fond of the idea of having to play with motion controls, there is now an option to play with the buttons instead. I personally feel like the motion controls work better for combat, but I'm glad that this version is far more accommodating. There is a lot of quality of life stuff that has been added, such as being able to skip cutscenes, tutorials, and the excessive text that comes with finding a new item. As for the base game itself, it's very reminiscent of Wind Waker in that there is an open sky world populated with floating islands for you to explore with the aid of a giant bird that you ride from place to place. There is a different world on the ground to traverse as well, which is where all of the dungeons take place. The dungeon design is phenomenal in this game, as are some of the boss encounters. There are a handful of sequences that the game could do without and some boss encounters are repeated far too much, but overall it's a solid game that holds up well if you've never played it before. Highly recommended.

Not without flaws, but I honestly think as a Zelda newcomer, Skyward Sword is one of my favorite games I've played so far. A really fun story on another level compared to the prior entries, fantastic score, an interesting art style, and just a fun, satisfying adventure.

Excellent Zelda game, it tends to get a lot of negative reviews, maybe because of the controls, it takes a little bit to get use to them, but you learn them supper fast, I ended up liking them, as it makes the game feel different. If you love zelda games, you will definitely like this one. It follows the same classic formula of dungeons that BOTW seems light on.

Never played the original on the wii. However, from all the reviews I have seen, it seems it was for the best. This game is great. Great art style. good gameplay. Found myself using the stick waaay more than the "motion controllers". Glad they added this option. Some bosses and sections a bit repetitive, but do not take away much from the overall experience.

I love this game so much!! It’s one of my favorite Zelda games and it’s wonderful to be able to experience it again in HD and with free camera movement! The motion controls are more accurate than the Wii version and the button controls are comfortable after a little getting used to. It’s a solid game with lovable characters and a classic Zelda story.

For the most part Nintendo just increased the resolution of the game without touching much else. There are still the motion controls which are probably the best way to play the game. Traditional button controls exist but there is a bit of a learning curve. My sword never seems to go where I want it to when using the stick controls. That being said this is one of the best stories ever told in a Zelda game. I'm glad to see the game get new life in it on and the switch and if you can get over those technical difficulties then you will enjoy the game.

Really enjoying this game so far. The graphics are obviously not on par with BOTW but they have a really smooth/nice feel to them. The game play is harder IMHO than BOTW but if you like that game, you will like this. I never played it on the Wii so can't comment on how it compares to that version and experience.

A lot of people don't like this game. I think it gets a bad wrap. This is one of my favorite Zelda games and I'm glad to see they found a way to make it work with out the Wii's motion controls so that we can continue to play it on more modern consoles.

The Zelda series is my favorite, and I really enjoyed revisiting Skyward Sword on the Switch years after originally playing it on the WII. Graphic upgrade is noticeable, controls seem smoother than the Wii version. Forgot how much fun the flying aspect could be. Some of the best "dungeons" and boss fights in the series.
