The long and short of it is this - It is a nice bag but you should consider Samsonite's warranty worthless unless you happen to live very close to a repair center or Samsonite store. I live in a large city, but the nearest repair center is 50 miles away. Only after I disregarded their automated response and spoke to a representative did they say I could take it to a Samsonite store - still a 20 mile drive from home but better. If however you live in a rural area it is entirely possible your nearest repair center could be 100s of miles away, and Samsonite insists repairs & replacements go through repair centers and their stores. For me, the cost in time makes it barely worth it to go get it replaced, and for some who live just a bit further away the cost in gas may outright make the warranty useless. If this was a $20 bag I'd just throw it away, but with tax this came out to closer to $100 so I expected it to last a lot longer and have better customer service if something happens. About the bag itself: - Slim bag with good storage - Good protection with foam (its sticking out now with the tear, so I can see there is ~1/4 inch of padding surrounding the whole laptop compartment) - For me, an ideal balance of big enough to carry what I need, without being overly bulky - Not as durable as would be desired - I normally buy a new laptop bag with each new laptop I buy, meaning I keep each bag at least 2 years often many more. My old bags would begin to look more worn, but still be functionally fine. This one after almost exactly 2 years split an entire seam. I'm hoping it was a manufacturing defect of my particular bag, but we'll see how long the replacement lasts. - While a seam failed, overall the bag looks a lot better after 2 years of use than other bags I have used for 2+ years. I am really hoping my replacement holds up longer.

Love this bag. I have a 14" ThinkPad 2 in 1 and this bag is perfect for it. It has ample room for extra documents and accessories and it's nice and sturdy. Definitely great for work yet versatile enough for any occasion.

I was looking for a good looking, light weight laptop case for my new HP laptop. This case fits my needs. The compartment for laptop is padded and there are pockets for accessories.
