Definitely louder than my old Ice maker. But now we only turn it on if we know we're going to need extra ice. The cubes are a good size for mixed drinks and if you chew ice. Much smaller than the banana shaped cubes that my refrigerator/freezer makes. Need to add water almost daily if you run it regularly.

I recommend this ice machine fit's on top of your kitchen counter or your covered patio counter top very easy to install just need water and a drain you can even use it as a portable ice machine for special events if you set it up that way I recommend this ice machine do recommend installing water filter in the water line
