Excellent picture with smart tv and Wi-Fi Connection

The picture is great! The sound is so-so, so I am buying a sound bar. The apps are so-so, and some of them, especially the yahoo apps don't even work. however I can get netflix, amazon, pandora, youtube, flickr so that's fine until i decide whether to get a chromecast or roku. There is one Yahoo app that does work and it is absolutely stellar. that's the Yahoo weather app. you can add any cities or towns anywhere in the world and it accesses beautiful photos from flickr and displays them, rotating them within each city. you have to toggle between the locations yourself in order to see them, it would be nice if it had a setting to continously run a slideshow of all your chosen locations. when you first select it, it opens in a small window on the left side of the screen. if you choose to make your remaining tv picture fit into the rest of the space you have a very nice 36" diagonal tv picture to watch along with the changing weather screens. I really like this a lot!!! I don't want to watch everything at 55"!!!! I like to have a choice of size of display and I find I have it with this tv!! If i want to watch a show at 48" diagonally, I simply click on the main "app" button. the apps are arrayed across the bottom, and with my remaining pic have the picture set to "viewport" the display is a wonderful 48" width! when i choose to, i exit out of all apps and have the full 55" display. for this reason, I really like this tv. I don't know if other large tvs have this flexiblity, but i don't always want to watch huge heads arrayed across a large screen, or huge words on news channels!!! Another wonderful bonus with the Yahoo weather app, is once you have opened it and it appears in the small side window, if you press your select button, it will open into a full screen display of the photos, and you can toggle through your locations. the photos change slowly within the locations, it would be nice to be able to control that, but you can't. If you look at my photos you will see the weather app and the 36" display ( choose the viewport setting) and the 48" display, with the apps arrayed along the bottom, and also the viewport option chosen. I can sync my mobile youtube app with the youtube on the tv. I am experimenting with hooking my laptop up to it. I have achieved it, but not able to fill the entire screen with it. so i am investigating it. maybe i should have bought a tv with a browser, but i didn't. All in all, i am very pleased with my first flat panel tv. i have experimented with a small LG sound bar the past week, and will exchange it for a better one, probably the vizio 5.1 channel. I am also trying to find a way to share my mobile photos onscreen. I know i can do it with a roku or other stick, but i'm experimenting with plex. not sure if i can make it work. I also like being able to change the lighting of the display, for a bright room, a darker room, and for going to sleep. good adjustablity. I'm sure there are better tvs out there, but many of these features you will not find out until you have it at home and you experiment with them. so even a better tv may not do what i really like about this tv. i paid 550.00 for this tv at best buy.
