The picture is great! The sound is so-so, so I am buying a sound bar. The apps are so-so, and some of them, especially the yahoo apps don't even work. however I can get netflix, amazon, pandora, youtube, flickr so that's fine until i decide whether to get a chromecast or roku. There is one Yahoo app that does work and it is absolutely stellar. that's the Yahoo weather app. you can add any cities or towns anywhere in the world and it accesses beautiful photos from flickr and displays them, rotating them within each city. you have to toggle between the locations yourself in order to see them, it would be nice if it had a setting to continously run a slideshow of all your chosen locations. when you first select it, it opens in a small window on the left side of the screen. if you choose to make your remaining tv picture fit into the rest of the space you have a very nice 36" diagonal tv picture to watch along with the changing weather screens. I really like this a lot!!! I don't want to watch everything at 55"!!!! I like to have a choice of size of display and I find I have it with this tv!! If i want to watch a show at 48" diagonally, I simply click on the main "app" button. the apps are arrayed across the bottom, and with my remaining pic have the picture set to "viewport" the display is a wonderful 48" width! when i choose to, i exit out of all apps and have the full 55" display. for this reason, I really like this tv. I don't know if other large tvs have this flexiblity, but i don't always want to watch huge heads arrayed across a large screen, or huge words on news channels!!! Another wonderful bonus with the Yahoo weather app, is once you have opened it and it appears in the small side window, if you press your select button, it will open into a full screen display of the photos, and you can toggle through your locations. the photos change slowly within the locations, it would be nice to be able to control that, but you can't. If you look at my photos you will see the weather app and the 36" display ( choose the viewport setting) and the 48" display, with the apps arrayed along the bottom, and also the viewport option chosen. I can sync my mobile youtube app with the youtube on the tv. I am experimenting with hooking my laptop up to it. I have achieved it, but not able to fill the entire screen with it. so i am investigating it. maybe i should have bought a tv with a browser, but i didn't. All in all, i am very pleased with my first flat panel tv. i have experimented with a small LG sound bar the past week, and will exchange it for a better one, probably the vizio 5.1 channel. I am also trying to find a way to share my mobile photos onscreen. I know i can do it with a roku or other stick, but i'm experimenting with plex. not sure if i can make it work. I also like being able to change the lighting of the display, for a bright room, a darker room, and for going to sleep. good adjustablity. I'm sure there are better tvs out there, but many of these features you will not find out until you have it at home and you experiment with them. so even a better tv may not do what i really like about this tv. i paid 550.00 for this tv at best buy.

I bought the TV for my son's playroom so he has a place to enjoy his superhero movies (he's 7).......once I set it up, I've found myself spending more time in his playroom than he does.

Got this 55" product for $448 on Black Friday. Delivered one week later. I replaced a beautiful Sony 51" top of the line Bravio from 2008 that weighed 75 lb - but had a wide line through the screen from a toddler's thrown toy. The Sony is always going to blow away these low end models, but I must say fast forwarding to 2015 technology to the lower end products of today was a nice surprise. I'm on a diaper budget, so I wasn't about ready to drop for a new Sony Bravio just yet. Vizio won out on budget only. Not disappointed! Sound not as nice as the Sony, and the deep blacks might not be quite as crisp as my old Sony. But, after watching this new Vizio for a day now, I have no regrets on this purchase. After some custom brightness and color settings, and ratcheting up the base a bit, this gem is nice! The HD signal coming in from my Time Warner cable box is gorgeous! Sports, news, daytime programming, night time -- any and all the time; the picture looks great. This is my first Smart TV and what I'm most impressed with is the rather quick connection speed to my wireless network for YouTube and Netflix. I have small children, and a quick search on Youtube "Minions" quickly accessed several mini-Minion movies that ran in sequence without interruption, giving me an hour of peace. Also, the YouTube resolution appeared at or near HD -- great quality! I will never need to buy a BluRay or DVD player again with the way technology is going. If I was looking to put up 3 or 4 of these in rooms throughout the house on a budget, this TV would be my choice and no one would complain.

    Great 55" LED Vizio!

I was driving myself crazy lately wondering which TV I should purchase.. I changed my mind multiple times from a LG to a Samsung to a Hitachi to a Sony to a Vizio and back and forth between them all. I finally decided on the 55" E-Series Vizio LED! & I could not be happier. I am a huge gamer and netflixer and this Vizio is absolutely perfect for both. From the 1080P for my movies and the 120 Refresh Rate, Madden 16 was amazing looking! I highly recommend this TV for any one who is looking for a Living Room Set for a great price and for video games! You wont go wrong.

This TV is light, easy to set up, and has decent picture out of the box. There are several tweaks you can make to the picture to get it how you like it. I'm not a videophile, so most of the settings were minimally changed. If you search for optimal settings for movies, sports, or general TV, I'm sure you can find some. Though it's not as good as my old plasma for movies, it's not too bad. The TV is propped on legs towards the left and right ends, so make sure your stand or cabinet is wide enough.

I shopped TVs for a while and wanted at least a 55" and a minimum 120 refresh rate. This TV is perfect, has double the refresh rate I was looking for. The smart tv is much quicker than my Roku and its streams great. I am very impressed. Great for sports, movies, you name it. Picture is great.

This is a great tv with one exception. The settings and ease of access to all controls are a huge plus. Brightness and picture quality are top notch. The only downfall is there is no browser. I should have looked at that first. Really would love to have a browser but the quality of the tv overrules this.

I looked at a lot of tv's in this size range and read a lot of reviews. I was quickly convinced this was the best non 4K tv on the market and it it was a great deal at $549. I missed the sale but Best Buy staff honored the price which was very cool! Set up and works great, as expected. I was going to get the 60" but I'm glad I got the 55" it fits my living room perfect!

Originally purchased an Ultra HD TV, but had to return it because my cable provider didn't offer Ultra HD programming & the it just sucked with regular HD quality. BUT this VIZIO TV is AWESOME! Great picture quality. Great sound. Easy to use. Would recommend to any of my friends who are looking for a high quality TV for a good price. Very Happy with this purchase.

I love having the apps and Amazon Prime and Netflix at the touch of a remote button. The picture looks good but I feel like sometimes it takes a bit for the TV to get to the full brightness level. The only button on the TV itself is power/input so if you can't find the remote one day you're kind of out of luck when it comes to doing anything on the TV.

Great picture, clear and crisp. Set up was a breeze. Vizio is an American company based out of Irvine, CA. It makes higher quality products at a reasonable price. I considered several brands and after reading comparable reviews and actually seeing the TVs myself I decided that this TV (and similar Vizios) were every bit as good a most other brands at a more affordable price. Sound wasn't awful but you'll want auxiliary speakers for movies and sports. I got a Vizio sound bar to go with it. I'm really happy with both.

We have really enjoyed this tv. The price was great, and we made a good choice in picking out this tv. This is our third vizio smart tv. The reason for buying this one was size. We had moved and could now have a larger tv. The set up was easy, and fast.
