This is a great product for purchasing to plug and play for any XBOX, XBOX ONE, or XBOX ONE S (which I recently purchased black Friday) The 500gb one, which after uploading about 5 games + the lego dimensions & The lego dimensions the Batman lego movie story pack, I began really running low on space; so had to troubleshoot. & went to Best Buy spoke to an awesome team member who definitely knew what he was talking about, and sent me the right direction, for extra storage space. Now that's aswesome! Directions: For this WD external portable hard drive; simply take home, open from packaging, & plug it in while the system is on & the Xbox One (S) will handle the rest. No noticeable lag in game load times at all. In fact, it may be a little faster. Best of all, plenty of room for games - load all you want, for some time to come! ;)

I have used both Seagate Slim and Western Digital multi-Terabyte backup drives. I have never had an issue with either one. However, I do like the Western Digital backup utility better. When you drill down to find a file it has the same folder structure as my Documents on my PC. Easy to find things. It does save everything even old things that you may have deleted. It does not bother me at all because of the file naming methodology I have used for years. So, you have to be careful in finding your latest version. The Seagate utility has a lot of subfolders that just save what you did that day. So, finding the last version of a file is very cumbersome.

WD external hard drive is easy to use & reliable. When I started having problems with my Toshiba, I thought I'd give the WD a try based on reviews and a customer recommendation at the store. So far, so good. The Geek Squad agent recommended I manually copy & paste folders/files rather than relying on the scheduled automatic backup which became the problem with the Toshiba. It used up 1TB which I knew I didn't have in data...something about it layering and possibly missing data. I reformatted the Toshiba and manually did the copy & paste (or drag & drop) and it showed a ton of memory left over. I now have two backup systems I can count on. Thank you Geek Squad.

Bought the Passport before making a cross country move to another state and so glad I did. Backed up all my data before we moved "just in case something happened to them in transit." A streak of bad luck, both my phone and my computer failed in the first month after arriving in the new location. Thank goodness all my data was backed up. Just plugged into the new phone and computer, downloaded my backup, and didn't loose any precious photos or data. So easy to use!.

I’ve owned both this and a previous My Passport from 2015. This new version is cosmetically different than the old one, but other than that it functions the same. I didn’t use any of the included software, and I ran into initial issues formatting it on MacOS. WD has an article about how to do it properly on their website, and if you follow the directions it works fine. I don’t consider this a fault of the drive however since it’s a MacOS problem.

This passport is awesome.I don't have to worry about Mechanical parts failing since it is small enough to carry around.I had no issues with this drive when I bought and opened it up.Everyone should buy this name brand drive.Just avoid bigger harddrives cause they break easy. This Harddrive is worth your money. This product powers up by usb only.I love it cause it saves a headache.Thank God WD made something with good products. This drive will probably last longer since it is designed differently.

I have been using the WD 1 TB model for 3 years without any problems, so now that I needed more storage, I bought the 3 TB version. Nice performance, handy, and the yellow body differentiates it instantly from the 1 TB blue body unit. Comes with a 12" USB 2/3 cable, operates silently and doesn't get much warmer than hand temperature. The provided WD backup software is not so great; I use the free EaseUS Todo distribution instead.

I got two of these for backup purposes. I love the speed and how tiny they are - only slightly larger and thicker than a deck of cards. I keep important family photos, videos, etc. on these, and store one at home and one in a safe deposit box off-site. I then rotate them every couple of months. As a computer user since 1989, I'm still amazed that something this inexpensive, small, and fast will hold 3 TB - what a world.
