tiny item, big storage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.love how compact and light the drive is, and the cover is very durable fabric. the cover has straps that keep it from opening all the way after unzipping, so the contents don't come tumbling out, and there is a pocket that's big enough for the cable and a thumb drive. the drive itself is the size of two decks of playing cards side by side. it comes in different colors - I got blue so i could find it on my desk. i love my purchase. highly recommend.

Plenty of memory
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this device in order to place all my memories that I've experienced as we travel abroad. Go pro's and cameras fill up quick and I needed more and this passport was perfect for my needs. I'm truly happy.

Depends on what your doing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good as far as storage. I’ve been taking all my pictures and videos off our old PC and transferring them to a windows ten HP laptop to edit. Problem is could not get this to be recognized From my old dell PC. Tried several things and it was so slow and aggravating. Most likely my PC which I am phasing out. I was able to slowly move everything with a simple USB memory stick to my new HP Laptop fot editing . This Hard drive was very compatible with the HP laptop and was recognized fast. The issue I’m having is that some of the old videos were taken and worked on with different formats. Examples would be roxio and Microsoft Windows. Also some were clips from a 8mm converted so there is some work to be done to make this all happen if at all. Not the Hard drives problem just technology changing and using different formats over the years. Pictures all loaded super fast and some of the videos as well. Time will tell if it will keep them safe. Best bet is if you have the storage keep them back up in two places so you don’t loose everything.

Great deal on a hard drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this 3 TB hard drive on sale for 99 - 25 visa check out. I didn't need all this space but for the price of 2 TB I figure why not. I planned to store all my videos and pictures on this drive. I like how the cables are color matched to the drive and all my friends recommend wd because it's reliable.

Great Portable Hard Drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hard drive is portable and small. The internal size (3TB) and the physical size of the drive made me interested in purchasing. It does come pre-loaded with manufacturers software (back-up software), if you just want a blank raw drive simply delete, otherwise it's a great portable hard drive.

Massive storage at a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The refreshed look of the new Passport drive is great, but the price is even better. I purchased this drive as a mobile Time Machine Back Up to my MacBook Pro. I also partitioned the drive to allow me to download/share files. It's a great value for the storage and is obviously very portable. I would suggest purchasing with a carrying case, especially if you're mobile.

A fine drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned both this and a previous My Passport from 2015. This new version is cosmetically different than the old one, but other than that it functions the same. I didn’t use any of the included software, and I ran into initial issues formatting it on MacOS. WD has an article about how to do it properly on their website, and if you follow the directions it works fine. I don’t consider this a fault of the drive however since it’s a MacOS problem.

Nice 3 TB USB memory.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the WD 1 TB model for 3 years without any problems, so now that I needed more storage, I bought the 3 TB version. Nice performance, handy, and the yellow body differentiates it instantly from the 1 TB blue body unit. Comes with a 12" USB 2/3 cable, operates silently and doesn't get much warmer than hand temperature. The provided WD backup software is not so great; I use the free EaseUS Todo distribution instead.

Q: QuestionWill this work on xbox one?
Asked by mrwhite.
- A:Answer Yes, they work great! Go online at Best Buy, spend a few dollars more ($115.99) and get the WD 4TB. Only buy the best, Western Digital. They make the best hard drives! I have these on XBOX ONE, XBOX ONE S, computers, TV's, DirecTV Genie and Genie Mini's. Plug it into your XBOX ONE, choose format for games. Tell it to store games there and all of your new games will be installed there.

Q: QuestionI'm assuming this portable drive can be used simply as a storage drive without using the accompanying backup software. Am I correct?
Asked by Ed.
- A:Answer That is what I used mine for. All of my photos from 1937 to the present are stored in folders on my new WD Passport. That way I am able to take the Passport with me when I leave home for any length of time and know that they all are safe. Also can take it with me if I want to show some to friends or relatives. I really love it.

Q: QuestionCan you use 1 on both Xbox one an PlayStation 4 or is it one for Xbox an one for PlayStation
Asked by Gamer.
- A:Answer Your better off getting one for each. Some of the support files needed to run the games need to be accessible from the same directory. If you try a splitter for the USB, just not sure if it might have similar file names for each game and that could cause an error when accessing the games of two systems intermixed in one drive location.
