Seagate - Expansion 5TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive with Rescue Data Recovery Services - Black

It is kinda hard to review these little black boxes with a disk big hard disk inside. The black exterior has a bit of texturing that may help disperse heat well, There's a barely visible silver swoosh of a logo, but I guess that's part of the plan it is supposed to just sit unnoticed at the end of it's 50cm cord and do it's job. The job is done inside but the only evidence is little white hint of an LED that tells you something is going on. Oh, there's also a slight hum that you can't hear but can just barely feel through your fingertips. It comes pre-formatted ready to use. All that's necessary (but optional) is to use your computer's Disk Management to assign it the drive letter and name that makes it unique on your system. My only quibble is that the cord uses that USB 3.0 Micro-B style connector with a USB-A on the other end. That standard (across the drive makers) seems a bit archaic since the devices we attach them to are clearly moving from USB-A to USB-C. This item replaced a similar one that failed. In my experience these small drives are excellent, but do have a limited lifetime. They are fine for backup, but should not be the only backup. Monitor it and preserve your data elsewhere at the first sign of trouble -- before you need to use the included data recovery insurance.

I bought this in a pinch so I could make room on my Umidigi G1 Mini Tab for all of the Diablo Immortals assets that I need to download. I was unaware that I would have to purchase a separate connecter cable due to the incompatibility of the cord that comes with the external hard drive (which is my bad). The portable hard drive quality itself is about as sturdy as it can get, and is compact enough to take along with you no matter where you go. Pray to God I won't have to, but if I needed to buy again I would give this a 10/10 rating.

Wow! 5TB is so much space; I’m not sure why I bought two, then I realized they came with a two month trial of adobe Creative Cloud & I was sure I made the right move. One for professional use & one for my passion projects. Sometimes my laptop doesn’t recognize the device right away, but that might be on my laptop. Anyway, good stuff. (Please note I added the label myself.)

Great drive. efficient and small. Very capable and LOTS of room

I find it’s really good and it’s a better alternative to buying it on the actual PS5 website. It’s a lot cheaper and if you have a lot of games like me, and no space, you should definitely get this product.
