XCOM Enemy Unknown and its expansion were some of my favorite games of all time, so I had high hopes for the sequel. I am happy to write that I have not been left disappointed. XCOM2 is a PC exclusive that brings back just about everything good from the first game, while allowing the quite active modding community to change it even further as they wish. Aliens are more diverse and in many cases tougher, but there are just as much equipment and new items to tip things back in the player's favor. In many cases, the overarching 'countdown' mechanic and the turn-limit on many maps make XCOM2 more difficult than its predecessor, but there are already plenty of mods that can tune said difficulty to the personal tastes of the player. If I had to make a complaint, it would be the rather poor optimization that causes the occasional dip in frame-rate, and the rare crash, but thankfully both seem to becoming increasingly rare as patches are released. I would highly recommend XCOM2 to anyone fond of the first game, or anyone fond of turn-based strategy games in general.

Turn based game that effectively makes you feel the arrival of all the doom that was looming in the last XCom. Every turn feels purposeful and stressful, odds are stacked against you, and you will probably lose many a squad member. If you played XCom before I can completely recommend this. Updated graphics and even more brutal than before. My only complaint is even a month later performance is pretty disappointing. Especially since I just got a new graphics card (a 970) in January. The devs have promised optimization so we'll have to see...

New to the series, but enjoy it very much. I recommend any new to this game, try it on easy mode first. My best comparison would be playing a Darks Souls game for the first time. It's a hardcore turn base strategy game that is very rewarding once you learn the different mechanics.
