Excellent product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buying the Xbox refurbished was an awesome choice. With all of the packages now practically forcing the Kinect on you, it was great to get a big hard drive without having to get a peripheral you may not use. The product I got was factory quality, there were hardly even fingerprints on the system. After a month of intense playing, there aren't any issues yet. As I'm someone who rarely remembers to turn off their gaming systems, the Xbox has probably been continuously running for weeks, and so far there have been no issues with overheating or dreaded red lights. The advertised "whisper-quiet" fans are a welcome feature, there have only been a couple of times where the fan and other system noises have caught my attention. Other awesome functions include the touch-sensitive buttons, although there's always potential for malfunction, they feel much more natural for use. The integrated WiFi is a real money-saver, as the wifi adapters for the Xbox have been ludicrously overpriced for the past few years, and the early models didn't always have the most impressive performance, and were prone to broken latches. The WiFi performance on the new 360 is superb. Lastly, Microsoft has removed the slots for Xbox Memory Units, opting instead for more USB support. The added slots for USB units is a blessing for those with friends who like to game on one system, as you can store your profile permanently on a USB drive, making it easily transportable from location-to-location. If you've been using memory units, I would suggest picking up a decent-sized flash drive to dedicate to your Xbox, for the transfer of profiles and important game-saves.

Pathectic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently ordered a 250GB XBOX 360 Slim through BestBuy and I was initially impressed, though I quickly realized this system was not as great as I originally thought. The system has an absolutely ridiculous number of scratches (this was supposed to be a cosmetic reconditioning), the top and bottom sections of the included controller are separating (creating a ridge of raised plastic that makes holding the controller VERY uncomfortable), they failed to mention the fact that the ugly pink wax on the eject button was the ONLY thing the silver inserts on, at least twice today I have caught the fan making strange grinding noises, etc. I fully intend on returning this unit for a refund and taking my business elsewhere.

Received Excellent Review from my Teen Son
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well... during the holidays it was nearly impossible to get my hands on this system. Since this was #1 on my sons list it was a priority for me. When I found the refurbished console available I was happy, but hesitant. After reading the reviews and checking with other sources, AND reviewing BestBuy's return policy, I decided to give it a try. The only downer was the fact that it was shipped in a boring brown box - dosen't help with the "wow" effect on Christmas morning. Luckily a local shop provided a display box that I used. My son was thrilled with the console and confirmed quickly that it worked just fine. He brings it with him wherever he goes and uses it along with his laptop to make gaming videos, etc. I would certainly buy a refurbished unit again from BestBuy!

Good alternative to N.I.B.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a refurbished new style of the XBOX360. It works great. I paid $50 less than a unit on the store shelves. It didn't come with the bundled games. The games would retail for roughly $120. A slightly lower price would have been better. That is why I gave it a GOOD rating in the "Value for Price." If it came with the bundle, I would have given it an EXCELLENT rating in the "Value for Price." It has a N.I.B. warranty, & I see it as the unit has been tested 2 times & therefore I am more likely to get more out of it. All in all, I am happy with my purchase.

Better to buy new
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I definitely suggest buying new. The one I recieved was worn down but not too bad, and after a few hours of playing it started freezing, even after it sat all night it froze in my first 20 minutes of playing the next day, the cooling fans were also a lot louder than they should be. I took it to the local Best Buy store and exchanged it, I spent a little extra money just to get the new one. No hassles everybody was nice. I got reimbursed full price including the tax and expidited shipping.

Don't chance it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My boyfriend and I ordered one last week, and it just arrived today. To put it succinctly: it worked, until we actually put a game in and try to play it, then it started freezing and red ringing. :/ Completely disappointed. We're going to go return it and get the new one instead, because the gamble isn't worth it just to save 50 dollars. I'm sure lots of people have gotten perfectly good refurbished models, but the chance honestly isn't worth it.

Great deal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great deal. I was upgrading from a V-smiles for my children to an X-box 360 with kinect sensor. This saved me enought $ that I was able to get some ghames as well. I will definately shop at the discount store again
