Q: how to operate my hoover power scrub carpet cleaner

A: To remove Clean Water tank, press Red release button on top of it. It will tilt forward, pull it out. Because the machine uses an automatic measuring system, you don't have to do that part yourself. Just fill the water compartment with hot tap water, fill the Soap compartment with Cleaning Solution. Set knob on front of it to "Wash". Replace tank by tilting it back in. There is a step-button on the left to release the hinge, and a step-button on the right to operate Power On/Off (like a standard upright vac). Turn it on and squeeze trigger while pushing forward slowly. Go over area, ending with dry pulls/pushes (not squeezing trigger) to pull up water. When Dirty Water tank is full, squeeze the red lever in front. It will unlatch, tilting forward. Pull it out. Release latch in back of tank to loosen cover. Pull the lid/cover off and empty. Replace by tilting it back in. If the tank fills completely you will hear the pitch sound higher and you will lose suction (thanks to the bobber inside). When you've finished, go over the area again; this time with the Mode/Knob set to "Rinse" (the know on front of the clean water tank). This removes the cleaning solution residue and any remaining dirt from the carpet. Good suction, will not leave the carpet soaking wet. Hope this helps. I just used it last night, so this is from memory. Very easy to use.

Q: Rinse carpet?

A: You must go over it again with the Rinse mode. Didn't bother me.. I just zoned out in the same way as cutting my mom's land with the riding mower.. plus I was fascinated with the amount of muck coming out of my carpet. The Rinse pass made even more of a difference, so it's certainly worth the time. Excellent suction too, so the carpet isn't left soaking wet afterward.

Q: Can you empty the dirty water using one arm?

A: The tank can be emptied with one hand however, unlocking the tank from the unit requires two. Even with two hands holding the unlock and pulling with the other can be challenging.

Q: If this unit does not heat the water what is meant by "It includes a heated cleaning mode to apply heat to tough stain"? Sounds misleading or am I misunderstanding something?

A: Hi NeCo! The Heated cleaning mentioned in the features is used for assisting in drying your carpets. The cleaner does not heat the water. Hope this helps! -Michael, Hoover Customer Care

Q: Is it easy enough for a woman to clean the carpet?

A: This is easy enough for a woman to use, definitely. It seems a little self-propelling. I have a serious back issue and it doesn't bother me one bit. Only problem I have is carrying it up stairs, which I just ask someone else to do for me.

Q: Are solution and water constantly flowing thru while cleaning or does it all stop when you release the trigger? I like to go over and suck up additional water and didnt know if i could with this model. Thanks!

A: Spray stops when trigger released. So I always go over several times to get as much moisture out as possible. Vacuum power is great and my carpet dries well in just a few hours.

Q: How many AMPS does this cleaner have?

A: 10.0 amps is listed on back of machine I hope this answer helps you
