Easy Peasy Setup and use!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No rocket scientist needed. Literally just plugs in and is ready to use. Very simple. Works great for all of my components ( DirecTV, Onkyo Receiver, Sony Blu-Ray DVD), which are hidden behind wooden cabinets. One small criticism would be that it doesn't handle obstructions very well at all. Remote must have a very clear line of sight to the device. So don't put an accessory in front of it, or an accidental kids toy. Because the "eye" has to be plugged in (my old one did not), I have to place it down lower than usual. My kids are forever putting things on the counter, in its way.

Gets the job done
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All of the media components in my home theater are hidden in an enclosed closet, including the IR transmitter for a Logitech universal remote. This works fine to control the components inside the closet, but I needed to get a signal outside to the mounted projector on the ceiling. The projector is about 15 feet away from the closet and I didn't want the hassle of installing IR cables through the walls and ceilings. This product allowed me to set up a transmitter In the closet and relay the remote control signal to the projector wirelessly. The set up was easy. I just plugged in the transmitter near the IR device in the closet, and placed the receiver on top of the projector. Both need a power source. It's a little bulky (a little bigger than a hockey puck) but small enough to hide behind most AV components. It comes with a lengthy IR cable with 3 nodes to attach to three devices. I only need one for the projector. Once installed it worked right away. No lag time in performance or any issues with the signal. I can't confirm the maximum distance/range of the product, but will say it works flawlessly at 15-20 feet.

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a theater room and my equipment is hidden in a closet. I found this at best buy, and gave it a try. NOW YES, THE reviewers here are correct the IR range is terrible no more than 5 feet away from the remote to work, HOWEVER THIS CAN BE FIXED EASILY!...You must open up the IR Transmitter unit carefully (DONT OPEN THE IR RECEIVER THERE IS NO NEED TO). Inside you will see a goldish squared shape wires within a silver transmitter. Carefully cut that out as it is blocking the IR sensor. Then put it back together and bam, i can get all my remotes to work from 35ft from all angle of the IR Transmitter. Problem Fixed!! Now you have one of the best IR transmitter on the market without spending hundreds of dollars. Not sure why the engineeres left the wire mesh there. I gave it 4 stars because you have to do some modification yourself to make it work great.

Decent entry level system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this system to extend my remote capabilities from the TV on the lower deck outdoors to my satellite receiver upstairs indoors. I wanted to be able to change channels on satellite box upstairs which is connected to the tv upstairs and to the tv on the patio outdoors. The units works ok as long as you point the remote directly at the transmitter. Sometimes the buttons on the remote have to be hit more than once for it to work. I gave it four stars as I am taking into consideration that I am transmitting through a one foot thick concrete wall, floor, and a 2x6 insulated drywall wall. I feel with the technology we have today, this should have been more powerful. Set up is easy.

Operates 4K Ultra HD TV and equipment from closet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These 2 units allow me to point my remote at the TV to change channels, change volume, change the receiver from cable to FM or AM or CD or DVD. Since my TV, ceiling speakers, CD player and DVD player are all connected thru my Receiver (which inherently has FM and AM radio), I need to be able to operate the Receiver (that is in a separate closed closet) with my remote control within the room with the TV with the closet door closed. Before I had to have the closet door open to operate everthing. This is done by plugging one unit into an outlet behind my TV and the other unit in a closet plugged into an outlet. Pull up the antenna on each and it is installed ready to go; that's it. As I understand it, the unit at the TV changes the standard remote signal (which is weak) to a stronger RF signal that transmits and penetrates thru walls and doors to perform the action transmitted from the remote control. The reaction is a little delayed, so be patient. After testing it on my system, I bought the units for my son who had a similar setup.

Very good IR extender
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to set up,actually it only needs the have the transmitter and receiver plugged in and it is ready to go. Owned for a month for a setup which includes 2 separate rooms with walls preventing IR functionality between the rooms. Works very well and it was also not expensive. Paired it with a Harmony 700

great for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When we designed our new tv/great room, we weren't sure were tv controls would go. They ended up in a cabinet, so we needed a infrared system (so we could close the cabinet door) At first we had both sections too close together and the tv channels would change by themselves. We moved the one you aim at farther away (about 10 feet) and have had no problems with it since then

Complete Control from another room
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Complete control of my stereo from another room. Comes with stick on sensors if your components are behind doors. Works perfectly 75ft away from main component. Can control volume, fast forward , skip tracks etc from afar. I'd buy another if my house was bigger. :-)
