Owned for 11 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had these smoke detectors installed for a little over 1 year and connected to be monitored with my Ring alarm system. The batteries needed to be replaced after 1 year, so that was the first thing I wasn’t pleased with. I am away on vacation with poor cell signal, and found out that there was a smoke alarm about a half hour after it started. At this point the police and fire department had already responded. I did some research and discovered that false alarms with this particular detector are common. I have since disabled the monitoring so I don’t waste anymore precious time from the PD and FD. The false alarm started and ended in the same minute… the house was unoccupied with everything non-essential turned off… completely ridiculous.

Buy at risk, maybe works, maybe doesn't work

One consistenly has false alarms drops connevtion tp Ring. The other 2 have worked flawlessly for nearly a yr. BestBuy will not exchange the malfunctioning unit.

Horrible product

I’m always having to replace batteries in them . Received 1 and it was already messed up and wouldn’t work . To bad I opened them up after the 30 day return pilot I would have returned them all !! I paid over $360.00 for them and regret it every day ☹️

Faulty devices, not worth your money

They just keep triggering the smoke sensor, you remove the batteries, as soon as you put back them, it goes off again. I got only one replaced under warranty, it was very cumbersome process, so I didn't even bothered with the other 3.

Worthless, false alarms

Once i didnt get to my phone quick enough and the fire department almost broke into my house. These detectors are trash.

Non functioning WiFi connection

False Alarms at all hours of the night

They randomly alarm and trigger for no reason. We are uninstalling them all and replacing with Nest Fire Alarms due to the lack of reliability.

Posted .Hi AnthonyB, this is not what you should expect. Please press and hold the Test/Silence button on your unit, this will quiet the horn so you can find what caused the alarm. Check for bugs, debris, or dust in the sensing chamber. The inside of the alarm might have been triggered by hidden dust, dirt, or spiderwebs. Regular cleaning prevents most nuisance alarms. Clean the detector with a can of compressed air and your vacuum’s soft brush attachment and reinstall the alarm. Clean your detectors once a month. Never use water, cleaners, solvents, or air compressor machines to clean your alarm. Test the detectors once a week and change batteries once a year. Contact First Alert Customer Support at 1 (800)-323-9005 for troubleshooting assistance. - Maria

Too many false alarms!
