LG sucks!

Owned for 8 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After a ton of research and careful analysis of the features and technology in this unit, I purchased this LG model. Absolute nightmare! This unit never worked properly since being delivered into my home. It makes a horrendous, grating noise that belongs at an airport. I've called LG numerous times, and anyone that is part of their executive or "inner management" team is callous, inconsiderate, and literally does not give a single fudge about your concerns or your food waste after having spent 4000 on their fridge. Furthermore, every time you call, they give different information about what your options are. Donna from the executive team is the absolute worst, btw. My fridge does not cool and has multiple error codes. The first representative told me unplug it and plug it back in. Naturally, that didn't solve the bigger issue. Now after having multiple repairmen in and out of my home during COVID, I've been told my brand new fridge is leaking freon (so the internal temperature is constantly rising), needs a new compressor, new evaporators, and a new seal system, and other technical things I don't quite understand--all this after two other repairs including a new fan. The fan motor is not working because it is frozen with ice because the fridge is not releasing warm air to prevent the ice build up. I've literally spent hours on the phone pleading for a replacement unit because clearly I got a defective model. But instead, I'm being told to let the repair company come in and rebuild the fridge that LG themselves couldn't build properly in the first place. This unit should have never made it past inspection, quality control, quality assurance or whatever department is responsible. Management will not reach out to you, and they (apart from the lovely representatives in the Phillipines) genuinely don't care about you or your family's health, well-being, or safety. Life's good, but LG sucks!

Compressor or sealed system failure

It's had one failure that was resolved, the second is a complete failure of the " closed system" a.k.a compressor. LG has not repaired it to date, it's been 10 days and noone has looked at it, and they cannot find anyone to repair it yet. A google search will show you there are large amounts of compressor failures. We lost $400 worth of food, and still have no proof that its going to get fixed anytime soon. Its under warranty for 5 years supposedly. We want our $3,603 back. Stay away from this manufacturer.

Bought a year and a half ago and the compressor already went out. Ice maker in the freezer barely ever made actual balls. I called LG support to send a tech out to fix since it’s under warranty and they won’t even call me back to schedule for 3-5 business days. Lost hundreds of dollars in food.

BEWARE OF LG FRIDGES!

Both the fridge and freezer suddenly stopped cooling this month. I'm guessing it is the compressor that's gone bad. LG claims that its "linear compressor" is more efficient and reliable than conventional compressors. That is simply false. There have been at least two class actions filed against LG based upon its linear compressor technology that allege that it routinely fails within 3-4 years. I called customer service and they don't have anyone in my area that can service it (still under warranty). Said I would get an appointment from an out-of-town service provider in the next 34 days. Yes, 34 days. Horrible, horrible product and even more horrible customer support. LG may make good TVs, but run away from their appliances.

Terrible, terrible, terrible

We purchased in April of 21 and it was delivered to our home in May of 21. Within a few months, the craft ice maker stopped producing ice. This should have been our first clue. Had the ice maker replaced. Then 3 years in the regular ice maker quit working. I finally called out the LG authorized repair technician and he determined that it was not cooling properly. Talked to LG and ran diagnostics. They replaced the Di Drier. Came back a week later...still no ice but seemed to be cooling properly. Replaced ice maker. A Week later, still no ice. Technician came out and checked. Not cooling properly again. LG recommended replacing the entire sealed system. Technicians came out a week later and did just that. That is when my refrigerator up and DIED. Long story short, LG sent the wrong parts which caused my fridge to completely quit. They sent out the correct parts and the technicians put those in, However, my refrigerator and freezer temps hover between 45-60 degrees. Last time the technician visited, he had LG on speaker phone in my kitchen and they recommended a replacement. I have gone through the process and the "escalation department" is telling me that I don't qualify to have the appliance replaced...what??? I haven't had a refrigerator that works properly for 3 months and have had technicians in my home no less than 10 times without a resolution. LG's response is they can send a technician out... The technicians have repeatedly told me it can't be fixed. I spent close to $4000 three and a half years ago on what I thought was a top of the line appliance. It is complete garbage and the worst appliance purchase ever. Now I'm faced with having to purchase another one just a few years later. LG and their customer service is completely terrible. DO NOT BUY AN LG APPLIANCE!!

Do not waste your money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this refrigerator when we bought it 25 months ago- yes just over 2 years. 21 months in the compressor and both the craft ice and ice maker went out. $400 to fix the refrigerator ice maker, the compressor and craft ice were u see warranty. Just a short 95 days later both ice machines stopped working AGAIN and the freezer is not keeping things frozen (like ice cream) despite being set at -1. The customer service dept of LG will charge us $400 to come out, which we pay on top of whatever they find is wrong. Do not waste your money for the bells and whistles- I loved this refrigerator but in the end it will cost us not only $4,000 when we bought it but probably close to another $1,000 to repair and it just turned 2 years old.

LG has horrible warranty repair service!!! Stay aw

Find out this is a huge issue for LG. That’s not the end all issue because things break. But if your expecting to get it repaired in any timely manner yiur delusional. LG has the absolute worst warranty repair I’ve ever experience for an appliance. Highly urge you to spend your money on anything but an LG product. It’s not worth it!!!

Compressors

Our compressor went exactly 5 years and 2 months later and so we had to pay $450 for replacement. Since it was a $3000 fridge it made sense. The compressor replacement has a 90 day warranty. It went out after 130 days so out of warranty. As long as you feel ok with $1200 a year for a new compressor every 3-4 months it is a good fridge. Assume 600 a year to own this brand new. Beware of the reviews that have not owned the fridge for a while

Compresdor isdues

And the warranty i thought was for 3 years is really only for 2. Now, i can get a new compressor through LG (they are in law suits over this), “sent directly to my home” and woukd artive in a month or so. Now mind you, that serms fair except its 3 times thst for labor to install. So i guess im going to be purchasing a new fridge but it wont be an LG!

Quit cooling after 24 months

Over the course of five weeks and a complete nightmare dealing with LG they deemed it was not able to be fixed. I was given a prorated amount that was still almost $1200 short of replacing the current model that I had.

Bad choice of refrigerator.

Was supposed to be under warranty. LG has this reputation, our repairman said he will no longer service LG products.

Bad Purchase

Service changed compressor, motherboard and still not working as of March 11, 2022. We have been going round and round with LG and LG service maintenance to declare it a lemon or big paper weight. I will update this post if needed. Its been a nightmare.
