LG sucks!

Owned for 8 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After a ton of research and careful analysis of the features and technology in this unit, I purchased this LG model. Absolute nightmare! This unit never worked properly since being delivered into my home. It makes a horrendous, grating noise that belongs at an airport. I've called LG numerous times, and anyone that is part of their executive or "inner management" team is callous, inconsiderate, and literally does not give a single fudge about your concerns or your food waste after having spent 4000 on their fridge. Furthermore, every time you call, they give different information about what your options are. Donna from the executive team is the absolute worst, btw. My fridge does not cool and has multiple error codes. The first representative told me unplug it and plug it back in. Naturally, that didn't solve the bigger issue. Now after having multiple repairmen in and out of my home during COVID, I've been told my brand new fridge is leaking freon (so the internal temperature is constantly rising), needs a new compressor, new evaporators, and a new seal system, and other technical things I don't quite understand--all this after two other repairs including a new fan. The fan motor is not working because it is frozen with ice because the fridge is not releasing warm air to prevent the ice build up. I've literally spent hours on the phone pleading for a replacement unit because clearly I got a defective model. But instead, I'm being told to let the repair company come in and rebuild the fridge that LG themselves couldn't build properly in the first place. This unit should have never made it past inspection, quality control, quality assurance or whatever department is responsible. Management will not reach out to you, and they (apart from the lovely representatives in the Phillipines) genuinely don't care about you or your family's health, well-being, or safety. Life's good, but LG sucks!

Garbage!

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst fridge i've ever owned, and the most expensive. 1) The ice makers stopped producing ice shortly after installation. Best Buy replaced the fridge 3 times to try and fix it. It worked for a week and then stopped again, 2) The temp shown on the outside of the fridge is the temp it's set to, not the actual temp! so imagine my shock to find out all my frozen goods were partially thawed out and the fridge had no way of telling me or alerting me that the internal temperature was wrong! 2) The service tech who came out to repair the unit replaced the compressor (after less than 2 months of ownership!) that still didn't fix the issue, and! he lost two of the screws that hold the top plate in place, so it's not been put back together correctly, and the top panel looks all wonky. I am in contact with LG about getting my money back. Steer clear of this expensive piece of junk. oh, lastly, I almost forgot, the craft ice maker does not make ice balls, it makes ice 3/4 balls. They are flat on one side. Save your money, this unit is not worth the 3000+ asking price.

Ice balls aren’t balls

Turns out that the fridge does not make circle ice cubes. They are flat on the top and the bottom. I called the LG support line and they stated one side was flat because my water pressure is too low and the other side is flat due to the temperature of the freezer. My house has great water pressure and I have set the freezer to the recommended temp (with no improvement). I’m disappointed LG won’t stand behind their product.

The worst purchase i have ever made (i mean it)

Unfortunately it does not seem to do thet very often. when I tell you I dreamt about the convertable drawer, the ice cubes that are huge spheres and every time I passes it in the store i would give it a little *knock knock* on the glass to light up the window. It worked great for a few months, but multiple repairs from both best buy and LG later and now it just decides to melt all my ice cream and spoil my food if i look at it wrong for no reason. The ice maker also no longer works. Its been our ‘drink’ fridge for almost a year since it went out of warrany and everyone stopped helping us. Its like I threw the 4k i paid in the trash with all the spoiled meat and melted ice cream i had to toss. I have tried reaching out to LG multiple times, since they do have a pending lawsuit about this, last time they told me ‘good news! Your refrigerator seems to be working!’ As I was chatting with them about how all my frozen goods were melted again. We have two vissani apartment fridge/freezers we live out of now, they were $100 and they have never failed us. Just save yourself the trouble and get a more reliable fridge.

Compressor or sealed system failure

It's had one failure that was resolved, the second is a complete failure of the " closed system" a.k.a compressor. LG has not repaired it to date, it's been 10 days and noone has looked at it, and they cannot find anyone to repair it yet. A google search will show you there are large amounts of compressor failures. We lost $400 worth of food, and still have no proof that its going to get fixed anytime soon. Its under warranty for 5 years supposedly. We want our $3,603 back. Stay away from this manufacturer.

Lg 3 door refrigerator with craft icemaker

It was delivered August 1923 and we have had the repairman out here already six times. He left about two hours ago and now it’s not working again. So far not a good resolution with LG had to take six days off from work already and now I’m losing hundreds of dollars in the freezer worth of food. Not a happy customer. When the refrigerator works. It is wonderful.

Avoid LG Refrigerators – Save Yourself the Headach

Mine has been a complete nightmare. It broke down twice in less than two years, causing endless inconvenience, and the ice maker has never worked properly despite multiple repair attempts. For the price I paid, I expected far better reliability and performance. To make matters worse, dealing with Best Buy’s Total Tech membership has been just as frustrating. Even though I’m “covered” by the plan, I had to pay $100 upfront to schedule a technician—and the earliest appointment was over a week away! On top of that, there’s still a service fee just to have someone look at the refrigerator. This has been a horrible experience from start to finish. Save yourself the money, time, and frustration by choosing a different brand and avoiding Total Tech altogether.

Great product, terrible Best Buy service.

That includes phone and online. As it turned out, the refrigerator wouldn't work due to an installation error which they expected us to wait a full 2 week for either a replacement or service, which didn't guarantee anything. We did pay extra for the 5 year extended warrantee which wasn't helping. I ended fixing the problem myself as I have some electrical expertise to avoid any more headaches and stop living out of a cooler. This has convinced me to never deal with Best Buy in the future as it seems that nobody seems to care about their customers once they pocket their money.

Absolutely the worst.

The first one lasted 7 years…I bought in September of 2016 and it failed (out of warranty) in 2023. We loved the design so much that we bought another in March of 23. The worst part of it is LGs, and by proxy Best Buy’s service for this problem is absolutely abysmal. This is a $4000 fridge and they want me to defrost…yes, my frost free refrigerator. The issue is that the evaporator coil leaks and it forms a big ice ball behind the panels in the freezer portion of the fridge. It grows to a point where the evaporator fan starts hitting the ice ball and makes an increasingly louder noise. First, customer service just wanted to send me a link to tell me how to defrost it, then the actual human (non native English speaker) tried to get me to do the same thing. Once I refused to defrost the refrigerator, she placed me on hold 4 separate times…only to tell me that I would eventually be contacted by any number of available technicians (whoever would accept the service request). I strongly recommend against buying this refrigerator or any other LG product that you may eventually need service on. Absolutely the worst customer service ever. The service call is routed to the Philippines and if you ask for a native English speaker the answer is ‘that is not available’ - ask to speak to a supervisor and your phone battery will die while on hold.

Deceptive Practices

In my recent purchase of an LG refrigerator I was looking at several stores to make a rather quick purchase of a refrigerator and found the least expensive price online at Home Depot. However I wanted the frigid as soon as possible and BestBuy was able to have it delivered to me fast but they were more expensive; so I asked about a price match with HD. They agreed on the price match and also promised me a 400 gift card! Well who would turn that down, it sealed the deal! Fast forward the gift card they gave me did not work! when I inquired about the gift card they told me it was applied during the transact which I was never aware of or seen them do, essentially the sales person was deceptive in their sales practice! I have no plans on going back to BestBuy! I will stick with amazon and Home depot! I don't like when people do this stuff, bad business, just be straight forth and honest!

DO NOT BUY

Bought a year and a half ago and the compressor already went out. Ice maker in the freezer barely ever made actual balls. I called LG support to send a tech out to fix since it’s under warranty and they won’t even call me back to schedule for 3-5 business days. Lost hundreds of dollars in food.

Review of My Refrigerator Purchase and Delivery Ex

A month later, I returned to personally coordinate the delivery, ensuring everything would go smoothly. Unfortunately, the experience was highly disappointing. The store sent people who were supposedly qualified to handle the delivery, but they were unable to remove the refrigerator doors to bring it into the house. Without consulting me, they decided to take it back and told me I needed to schedule a new delivery date with more qualified personnel. To make matters worse, my order was later canceled without my consent or a clear explanation, which was incredibly frustrating. Despite all my efforts, my mother still doesn’t have her gift. I’m currently waiting for a response from the Best Buy Hato Rey store to resolve this issue, and I hope they can provide a satisfactory solution and improve their delivery service in the future.

Very Disappointed

Home is only 11 years old. 2nd attempt delivery person was very rude and refrigerator was damaged. This will be Best Buys third attempt. I am really feeling like I need to cancel my order. Best Buy has a long way to go to earn my trust as a consumer. It's a shame because they used to be my preferred store for electronics and appliances.

Definitely not worth the price tag - do not buy

Couldn't connect the refrigerator to the app. LG Support couldn't sort it out, Ice maker broken from the get go. 100% not worth the nearly $4000 price tag. I returned this refrigerator, and got a GE Profile, similar size, and so far, no issues. I was able to get the new refrigerator and the 5 year protection plan for cheaper than this refrigerator by itself. Do not buy.

Not standing behind Geek Squad warranty

Had it delivered and within 24 hours, the fridge wasn’t cooling properly. Repair came out days later and said, “sorry, we can’t fix it because it will cost us (them) too much.” I bought the geek squad warranty, but they said I can’t use it until the first year is up. Manufacturer warranty isn’t valid because it’s “Open Box.” They say I have to return it and get money back. Well, that’s great if I can find another LG at the price I bought this one. What good is buying a geek squad warranty if they aren’t going to stand behind it. Now I have to go back into the store and deal with management to get a resolution that isn’t just, “Sorry, too bad.”

Life is not good with LG

It has a really nice look to it with French doors a clear panel on one of the doors for beverages and a craft icemaker in the bottom freezer. Within the first year, we had an error code on the refrigerator, the icemaker from the French door was leaking water onto our kitchen floor, and the icemaker in the freezer in the bottom was no longer functional. LG had to send multiple technicians to the house and I spent many hours on the phone with LG trying to get the issues resolved. Ultimately LG service was poor and they did not compensate me for all the lost time that I spent on the phone with them in troubleshooting there Defective product. I’m very disappointed in my service and not pleased with the quality of the product that I received from LG.

STAY AWAY

However, geeksquad pushed my repair out to LG with now i have to go out a fridge for a week and had to throw out my food. Soooo not really a reliable product.
