Well, first off this was a free gift that came with other products that I purchased. So setting it up was easy. It’s small and cool looking. It displays different LED lights. And…. That’s as much as I can help you guys with this review. I honestly don’t know what to do with it. Keep asking her about the weather and my schedule? I could care less about the weather and my schedule is in my head. If you want to use it to turn on you TV and dim ur lights and all that then u need to buy compatible equipment. But I did play music and it sound pretty good, that’s why I keep it in the bathroom now.

In fairness I have to say that I received this 1st gen Echo Dot as part of a Best Buy TV purchase - I did NOT purchase the Dot outright - basically it was a free thing to me. Having said that I thought I might use it via Bluetooth as an external speaker for the TV. I really don't have a use for the Alexa voice control function thats offered with the Dot. Plan on having to download and install the Alexa app to "install" this Dot to your TV. That seems to be necessary even if all you want is the Bluetooth speaker function. The sound quality is OK - not super but certainly better than the stock speaker setup on the small flatscreen FireTV I just purchased. The small downward facing speakers in the TV function but the sound quality isn't the best (especially if you are older like me and are having some hearing issues). This Dot improved the sound some..... Are there better Bluetooth speaker solutions -- ABSOLUTELY!!! But, as noted in the first part of this review the Dot was basically FREE to me and who doesn't like free.

If I used Alexa by this would be more used by me other than that it just seems like a normal speaker.

Hello SkyeM. Thank you for your feedback on the Echo Pop! I understand that as someone who doesn't frequently use Alexa, the Echo Pop functions primarily as a regular speaker for you. The Echo Pop is designed as an entry-level smart speaker that delivers full sound in a compact form, and its value really shines when integrated with Alexa's voice assistant features like smart home control, music streaming services, timers, reminders, and information queries. For users who primarily want a standalone Bluetooth speaker without voice assistant functionality, there are other options that might better suit those needs. However, if you ever decide to explore Alexa's capabilities—such as controlling smart home devices, setting routines, or accessing music services hands-free—the Echo Pop offers an affordable way to experience those features. I appreciate you sharing your perspective, as it helps other customers understand that the Echo Pop's value is closely tied to how much they plan to use Alexa's voice assistant features!

This is nice to have in a small room. Don't expect for it to yield a large volume. It was well worth picking up on sale over the holiday season

The Amazon Echo Pop is just okay. The sound is fine for a small space, but nothing impressive. It’s not bad, but it’s not great either. Honestly, I don’t really use it much — it feels kind of unnecessary for me. If you just want a basic Alexa speaker, it does the job, but don’t expect anything special.

Hello AlexanderJ. Thank you for your feedback about the Echo Pop. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with voice command recognition and volume control. To improve voice recognition, try positioning your Echo Pop away from walls, speakers, or other sources of noise, and ensure it's not placed near air vents or fans. For better responsiveness, you can also try a factory reset by pressing and holding the Action button for 25 seconds. Regarding volume control, while the Echo Pop has 10 volume levels, you can make fine adjustments by using specific voice commands like "Alexa, volume 1" or "Alexa, volume 2" for the lowest settings. You can also adjust the volume precisely through the Alexa app by going to Devices > Echo & Alexa > selecting your Echo Pop > Settings > Audio Settings. Thank you, and I hope these suggestions help improve your experience with the Echo Pop.

Frustrating to set up for an Amazon Prime household member -- and beyond that it seems to be less responsive than other Alexa devices (such as the Echo Dot). Given Amazon's lack of a dedicated support or registration page for their devices, you would think they might make setting up their devices more straightforward -- and you would be wrong.....Essentially guessed my way through the process and initial commands and feels like that's how the usage of this product will go: by guesses and random good or bad luck (which isn't a good thing).

Hello, Jessie. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Echo Pop. I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having with the device and have some recommendations to try and help. For volume concerns, the Echo Pop is designed as a compact smart speaker optimized for smaller spaces like bedrooms, dorm rooms, or offices. To maximize volume output, try these steps: ensure the device is placed on a hard, flat surface rather than soft materials that can muffle sound, position it away from walls or corners where sound may be absorbed, and verify your volume is set to maximum by saying "Alexa, volume 10" or using the volume buttons on the device. For the glitching issues, here are several troubleshooting steps: Check that your Echo Pop has a strong, stable internet connection (weak Wi-Fi can cause performance issues). Restart your device by unplugging it from power, waiting 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. Ensure you have the latest software updates by opening the Alexa app and checking for updates under Device Settings or by saying "Alexa, check for updates". Move the device closer to your Wi-Fi router if possible to improve connectivity. If these steps don't resolve the glitching or if you continue to experience performance issues, you can reset your Echo Pop to factory settings, which often clears up persistent problems. If you're still experiencing difficulties after trying these solutions, Amazon Customer Service is available 24/7 at 1-888-280-4331 to provide additional support. Thank you and have a great day!
