I ordered a MacBook on Oct 31. Shipment was damaged in transit and cancelled by Roadie. Best Buy customer service advised that a refund was initiated on November 1. I have been calling them every day since Nov 10 — every customer service agent tells me a refund has not been initiated and promises to initiate one (since the item was never delivered). I’ve reported the matter to BBB and FTC. Online blogs indicate that Best Buy is doing this to multiple customers. I cannot wait for the regulators to shut this terrible and fraudulent company down once and for all.

I returned it. While I’m sure the MacBook Air was perfectly fine, the entire process was unacceptable. My fiancé is going back to school and needs a proper computer to be able to do it, so I ordered a MacBook Air on Sep 17 and was set to receive it on the 19th. The delivery was completely botched. Fedex said I had signed for and received it, which absolutely was not the case. I had footage from my and my neighbors’ cameras at the time in question and there was nothing to suggest I had received it. That part of the mess being FedEx’s, I will get into it with them rather than with best buy. Jumping ahead, I first put in a service ticket to best buy and ‘after exhausting all search options’, they concluded that it I had signed for it and I would still be charged for it. Next, I called the best buy customer service line to begin discussing what should be done about the missing MacBook. After talking the associate through everything that had been going on, I was put on hold so she could talk to a supervisor and was told it would be a brief hold. That hold turned into about 20 min before I was hung up on. I called the number again, got a different associate and mentioned I would appreciate not being hung up on again. He made good on that and transferred me over to customer care, they were the ones to speak with. I spoke with a third associate who went on to put me on a brief hold, actually came back and began discussing what best buy was (allegedly) willing to do on its end. During his talk, I was abruptly hung up on. From there I called in 5 times, the call would be answered, the line would be open for 2 seconds and then it would hang up. This 5 times. Then I had my fiancé call on her phone and the call was answered. This is proof enough to me that some kind of game was being played where, ultimately, my number was flagged and customer service/care were instructed against or barred from speaking to me. Back my fiancé’s call, she repeated everything I had explained and, no surprise, they played the same game with her. They began to explain what could be done, hung up, and ignored calls from her number. Jumping ahead to after A LOT of leg work on my part and help from an operations associate at the local FedEx distribution center (who seemed to be the only one to care beyond “well, it was signed for so you must have it”), I finally got my hands on the MacBook and checked the serial number and packaging to make sure everything checked out. That same day on my lunch break I brought it to the closest best buy and turned it in for a refund. When the clerk asked why I was returning it I said that I didn’t want it. She asked if anything was wrong with it and I explained everything that had happened. She seemed floored. I also made it a point to emphasise that it wasn’t commentary on her or the store to which it was my first visit. I then pointed out that the biggest problem was the shameful way the customer service hotline acted, and that because of it I no longer wanted the MacBook. Not from best buy. Yes, my fiancé needed it. Yes, it seemed in perfect shape. Yes, I then had it in my possession. But after the way customer service acted, best buy didn’t deserve my money and I told her as much. Their role in the situation was fully unacceptable and despite needing it, I would find another way. And I did. I bought one from another vendor who has had zero problems completing my purchases in the past. The MacBook Air was in our hands. There was a very small upcharge relative to the product, but considering the purchase was completed with no problems whatsoever, I have no qualms with paying a little bit extra. As it concerns my hardware and tech needs, I will be going with them from now on. Final note concerning the field “would you recommend this item”: yes I would. My fiancé has since been using it for school and it is perfectly suited to her needs. The caveat here is that I recommend getting it elsewhere.

Picked up this item in store. And have had problems since the very first day. It’s like it had been used or maybe a return that was mixed up and put back on the shelf by accident. I bought the MacBook so no compatibility issues with my other devices. I couldn’t even get photos to download. Photo app was corrupted. Wouldn’t hook to WiFi straight out of the box. Web root software keeps going crazy and dropping 100 plus warnings boxes on the desktop anytime I would try and check settings. On a good note, couldn’t have asked for a better staff to help with my purchase.

The items works well but Best Buy is not a place I would buy it from. I kissed the first attempt at delivery and I called fedex said I could get it delivered again if Best Buy called to ask for delivery again the next day because they were requesting the item to be sent back to them. Best Buy was no help and bad customer service. There was more to this experience but overall I will not be buying again from Best Buy and FedEx actually saved the day with this issue.

Horrible horrible service. I received the wrong item and now they won’t let me return it. I order a silver color laptop but once it came it was blue. I tried to exchange it in store but upon inspection by one of the staff members, they said the serial number on the box does not match the serial number on the laptop. And that there is someone out there in the world that has a laptop that has the same serial number as the box. They were unable to process the refund in store and told me to call customer service. I’ve talked to multiple people on customer service and they told me to just return it. The package was sent back to me a few days ago. Called again and they said they will follow up with an email and have someone come physically to my house to fetch the product. Today I received a email stating that they are unable to process the return due to the mismatch in serial numbers…WHICH WAS THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM THE WHOLE TIME BUT NO ONE IS LISTENING! I paid for a brand new laptop, so why did I get a refurbished one? Words can’t even explain how mad I am.

I made a purchase of a new apple Mac air for my son on 12/1/25. I paid over $1K including the Microsoft subscription that cost $80 for the year. To make a long story short. I was sold a used labtop as a new one. I never bother to inspect the laptop as I assumed I was dealing with a reputable company like Best Buy. When my son open the box, the laptop was chip on all four corners. I took it back, and the Loptop serial number didn’t even match the serial number on the receipt I was given. They scan the box serial number and that box was never sold in that store, but some how made it’s way into the store inventory room. When they scan the Loptop it came back as a Loptop sold back in 2023. Again, when I purchase the loptop, I asked and paid for the 2025 Mac air m4. Please double check your purchase, especially if you buy from the Best Buy in Norther Blvd, Queens, NY. This store has a serious problem with dishonest employees. I do want to thank Ernesto, who took charge of our issue. The manager on schedule was not helpful, as she failed to realize how upsetting that situation was for us.

Did not come with a charger and have been in a battle with Best Buy for three weeks now trying to get a charger sent to me, a refund for the charger or even a gift card. Radio silence. This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. No one is helpful, it has been escalated multiple times and it has still gone nowhere. I get hung up on after waiting on hold for 25 minutes at a time and with no callback. Someone finally emailed me this week, but they gave me the option that the first customer service person told me three weeks ago as an option - that is simply not an option. I will never be buying from Best Buy again. Never been so frustrated in my life.

Screen is popped out on the left side, does not seem to effect the function. It does not meet the quality I have seen from my other Samsung purchases.

I bought this MacBook Air with the M4 chip for my grandson’s Christmas gift. I have an M1 MacBook Air that I absolutely love! I know my grandson is going to love this computer, and it has me thinking about an upgrade myself! If you’re on the fence about getting a Mac, go ahead and ditch the windows PC. It’ll be the best computing decision you ever made

This laptop is great for everything, especially considering its portability. However, the experience I've had at a local BB (South Setauket, NY) was horrible, making it the WORST purchase I've made this year. The customer rep and store manager didn't know how to process the return, gave me false information that Apple laptops cannot be returned to the store, and showed unprofessional behavior to the customer. After this incident, I contacted online/phone customer service to confirm that I could return the laptop to the store. To avoid the same horrible experience, I went to a different store (Patchogue, NY) for a return, which took less than 3 minutes, and had a pleasant conversation with the rep.

Came in a huge box with no packing paper, peanuts, bubble wrap, not anything... It was damaged upon receipt, and my local store denied the return because I didn't open the box in the store. They told me I'd have to take it up with Apple! I had to be a "Karen" and demand a manager for 40 minutes before i was able to get an exchange. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RETURN POLICY! I will never buy another Apple product from BestBuy, heck, I wouldn't buy a Snickers bar if it were .50 cents at their store after this aweful experience.

Honestly, I had it for a couple months and had a crash im not sure what happened but apple claimed it was water damage and best buy couldn’t help me either. Wouldn’t really recommend apple laptops anymore. Before the crash it was a really nice cute laptop to own.

Worst experience I have ever had. Came in empty box had very hard time with customer service to get first replacement. Then denied then refund then denied. Took weeks and hours and hours on phone. Never been lied to so many times. Had to open case with FedEx because Best Buy never contacted them. Opened the empty box in front of FedEx because they told me it was empty before handing it to me.

Two Weeks ago, I purchased a MacBook from Best Buy for two day delivery. FedEx left the computer outside of my house in the city without a signature. I reported the issue immediately. I’ve been being told when I call (every day for two weeks)that my refund will be processed in 24 to 48 hours. I’m very disappointed in how Best Buy is handling this I understand there’s due process however this issue is between Best Buy and FedEx not their customer who spent $800 dollars 2 weeks ago on a computer that he does not have.

I returned it (well, not returned physically because it hadn’t arrived to the store yet) because I decided that I wanted the 512 memory. The website said that the 512 was on sale until 7/14, however, when I went to the store the manager informed me that the sale ended @ 4:59am that morning. I noticed that the Apple computers were on sale the following week and therefore tried to order online and have it sent to the store. However, for some reason the Best Buy site kept indicating that it couldn’t take my credit card (I made a few attempts). Note that there was nothing wrong with my credit card. Since there is no one to call (believe me, I tried using BB’s so-called “customer support” in the past - they were USELESS - they know nothing and cannot help customers and one can no longer connect to a local store. Therefore, I purchased my 512 MacBook Air through Amazon instead. Best Buy needs to rethink how they interface with customers from home. The in-store team was great, but I do not want to have to drive 20 miles for something as simple as a question or two.

Bought a new MacAir M4 chip and have never experienced a worst setup process in all my Apple products (over 9). Must’ve been defective as lighting could not be fixed. Other problems too. Nevertheless, got so frustrated I returned it for refund! Didn’t even bother for exchange. To make matters worse Best Buy debited my account $25 for certificate. Sorry Best Buy and Apple. Time to move on from both of you!

Horrible experience. There was liquid stains on the computer. Slight scratches were expected but when I went to return the item the employee refused to let me trade and just gave me a refund when I explained how much I needed the computer but didn’t feel comfortable with it possibly having liquid damage. She then offered to let me purchase another one but told me I would have to spend another $900 instead of just swapping them out. I had to wait to be refunded and purchased a brand new one same price in Amazon.

This laptop arrived in poor condition. I purchased an open box excellent condition, but when it arrived through bestbuy.com it had a host of problems with it. The cord was dingy like gray. It was scuff marks underneath the laptop look warped there was stains on the laptop I tried to return it to the store. I was told that it was in poor condition and they sold it as if it was in excellent condition the manager blew me off and didn’t wanna take it back kept giving me excuses. He sent me back to bestbuy.com. BB North Avenue.

The item was never delivered to my house even though the Roadie associate said it was. The verification picture was just of the outside of the box, no houses, doors, etc to confirm. Our $1000+ graduation laptop was "lost or stolen" and Best Buy would not guarantee or help with locating. I WOULD NOT use Best Buy delivery since they use unverified delivery services and do not back up their purchases!!!
