Dear Alanf,
I do understand the inconvenience this may have caused you, your dissatisfaction with the quality of the product and your recent customer service experience. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, this is a random problem. We do value our customers and take negative customer service experience very seriously. This is not the quality of service expected from ASUS. We do stand behind our product and we continuously strive to improve our approach and processes in order to achieve customer service excellence. Usually, you will do the following to resolve the no power on or no boot issue. Try to do a power cycle a couple of times. Shut it down completely, wait for at least 10 seconds then power on. Please wait, if the system is applying updates in the System Registry, it will black screen temporarily. If it still black screen after a few minutes, at least 10 minutes, please repeat the power cycle process again. Please verify if the AC adapter was properly connected from the laptop to a working surge protector or AC outlet and the power button is being pressed all the way down to trigger a power on signal. Also, please try to disconnect the power cable and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory and reset the hardware to default settings. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter then power on the unit.If you need further assistance with the warranty service for the product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.
Regards,
Rodel

I LOVE IT! I've always been intrigued by the price of these laptops and had fought the urge to purchase one for a very long time. But this year felt right and so I bought it during the Black Friday Sale. Coming from a MacBook Pro and other powerful windows laptops from work, I was somewhat disappointed when I first started using this laptop, but the more I used it the more I fell in love with it. Just be prepared to adjust your expectations and this you will be happy! For the most part this laptop is a perfect secondary computer for web browsing, simple word processing, and video streaming. It was exactly what I was looking for. I like how it's ultraportable so I don't have to lug my heavier laptops with me when I'm on the go. It's also budget friendly so it's not too hard on the wallet if anything were to happen. More importantly it runs full Windows (comes with S Mode, but you can switch to full Windows 10 Home for free) so it's more capable than my ipad in some aspects. It's also decked out with the latest I/O ports USB 3.0 and USB-C. Yes it only has 32GB of storage, but I added a micro SD card so storage isn't a problem. With 2GB of RAM just don't drown it with open tabs and programs and you'll be fine. It's overall a very zippy computer and I won't let it leave my commuter backpack! Definitely recommend this awesome machine!

I needed a lightweight portable laptop and this sleek little number fills the bill. Thin and light, around 2 lbs, it has an 11.6 screen, efficient Inel Celeron processor, 2GB ram. windows 10, and at least 6 hours of battery, It has plenty of capability for the short term, so easy to carry and the price is right.

I purchased a Surface 2 tablet a couple of years ago and deeply regret it. Just a pain. The Asus is so much better. It's small (about the same size as the Surface) and it has enough memory to do work related tasks and email. I purchased 2016 Word, Excel and PowerPoint for $50 and it handles everything I need just fine. I like the long life battery and often leave the power cord at home for day trips. I simply put the items I need for a particular trip on the Asus, work on them, and then transfer them back to my regular computer when I get home. Don't expect outrageous speed or huge memory or storage, but if you are looking for an inexpensive grab-and-go laptop you can't go wrong with the Asus E203MA.

If you're buying this as a main and productive laptop, you're going to be sadly disappointed. This has minimal resources and would be great for basic use or for kids. I personally purchased this for running diagnostics on my car and it will stay in my car. Its performance has been fine, it hangs up when too many things are going on, as expected. 2GB of memory is not a lot for laptops and I don't know of any ability to expand it. You don't get a lot of storage, so something like Google Drive or iCloud is recommended for storing photos. One thing I would recommend is taking the laptop out of S-mode. S-mode is a restricted version of Windows 10 and it does not allow you to install your own applications, such as Chrome. To get out of S-mode, run all of your updates for Windows and then go to Microsoft Store and update everything there as well. Once that is done and you've restarted, go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation (ensure it's activated). On there, you will see Microsoft Store, choose this and it'll open it up and follow the messaging of taking it out of S-mode. Please note that if this laptop is for kids or someone who isn't technology savvy, keeping it in S-mode is recommended. Under the right purpose, I would recommend this for basic needs. This laptop was not built or intended to fulfill your needs of high performance or multitasking.

The price on sale was a little over $100 for a new generation Celeron and graphics chip capable of playing 4K video and running Windows 10 Home (with a simple change in settings) rather than the "safe" version which limits one to only Microsoft approved apps. Lightweight without the limitations of the Chrome ecosystem. Good keyboard. Reasonable screen resolution and quality. Capable of doing useful tasks that are reasonably within its scope, like presentations, word processing, internet browsing, playing media, light livestreaming, and other useful things. A great second computer for carrying on the go without the risk of an expensive laptop overloaded with personal data that you don't want to lose. Reliability? It's just been used for a few weeks, so that's indeterminate at this point. I did have a question, and a free ASUS phone conversation resolved it.

I bought this laptop on sale foe a great price last December. It's been working great with no problems for what I use it for. It is a bit under powered with only 2GB of memory so keep that in mind if you had programs that need a lot of power. I did switch to Windows 10 from the Windows 10s that it comes with and I am glad I did. It was easy and I can use what I want to when I add a program. I am not very tech knowledgeable but I like this laptop and it works well for my purposes.

The price for the computer was under $120 so I did not expect too much. I was and remain surprised by the computer. I did spend an additional $11 and added a 128 gb micro SD card. So it has plenty of space for my applications specifically Ham Radio digital programs. I own other ASUS computers so I knew it would be very good quality. Hard to go wrong given the battery also last a good 10 hours or more. One charge takes me through the day and more. Graphics are very good as well. I am very pleased.

We originally purchased this for our son for Christmas, but after seeing how light and fast it is, we decided to purchase two more for us (Mom & Dad)! Its small size makes it so much more functional than our previous 15.5" laptops. I'm sure it would be lacking in memory for things like massive video editing software but for general use by two 30 somethings and a 10yr old it is perfect! And you can't beat the price point.

This is an upgrade to another ASUS model I have used for years that has been my primary go-to laptop. I do IT work and this does everything I need to do. Has great battery life for long days of use (10+ hours). Use it for email, web browsing, writing letters & invoices, taking notes, wireless configuration, downloading software... I love how light weight it is and how much battery life it gets.

got this one from Bestbuy Black Friday event, only paid $119 for this. I’m so surprise the battery last the whole week! It’s so light and fast, with 32GB and runs windows! Not a piece of crap chrome book. I say BUY IT if it’s on sale again, you won’t regretted it.

I have an Asus smartwatch so that's what attracted me to this laptop. The weight is perfect, it's a small enough size to fit in a tote bag and I love how the keyboard functions. For the memory size there's not much you can download if you're a designer. I need Adobe CC and not all of the application could be installed because of the space. To browse the web, create documents in Microsoft Office, video chat, make videos and take pics with the camera, it's perfect. My plan is to get the Asus laptop with more memory and give this one to my grandson because he loves games and Minecraft is installed.

Still haven’t opened the box. Wanted a cheap windows laptop for school, this bad boy was $119 and change. Probably not a good laptop if you’re a gaming person, but I imagine it will write papers and check email like a boss.

Very compact and light weight, but still strong enough to do everything I need to do. Runs windows 10 so I can log in to work and also lets me check emails and crush candy.

Pros: Long lasting Battery, Excelent connectivity, good for traveling because its size and weight, good keyboard and mouse. Cons: The windows 10 in S mode is more a "Microsoft Vending Machine" than a PC, You must to "KILL" the S Mode (Slave of MS Mode) to freely use the PC.

I was thinking about getting something good for Christmas to my son and my nephew and I just found this is a perfect gift at a perfect price.....they really enjoyed it...

I didn't want to buy a laptop for a lot of money, just needed something to gaze at during the day. This laptop is not heavy and is easy to carry around with you.

I bought this for my son for christmas...not even 2 months & the "A" key popped off! i took it in to best buy thinking they could help put it back on. NOPE! they don't "fix keyboards"! OK. what is the "geek squad for??" I did not buy the protection plan, they were NOT even interested in helping me. They tried to send to a "repair" shop who knows where? & "it may or may not be still open." ??? bottom line laptop is ok, Best Buy customer service SUCKS.
