Sound quality is pretty good, and it fits well. That's where the positives stop, call quality is horrible can't filter out voice from background noise. Battey is OK it can last all day do have to charge them more than my other headphones. Case and headphones feel cheap especially the case. The connection to devices is probably the biggest draw back that will leave you frustrated as sometime they will refuse to connect to my phone or I have to restart my phone. Overall I would not recommend these to anyone.

This is the definition of paying for a brand name. Sound is crisp, big deal. But the rest of the experience is just not worth the squeeze. Everything else is low quality from connectivity to the app it self. Worst part is why so bulky if i have to charge it everyday. Is like buying a gucci belt so people know you are a consumer that doesn't care about value. Enjoy

The sounds of this product is good but the cap of headphones broke on my set pretty easy (made of plastic) so if you are thinking of getting this make sure you get insurance because now I have a $280 set broken after only a month :’( and they can do nothing about that compared to Apple Pro this are cheap made One more thing whenever you are on the phone talking there is no way to put the volume up I have a hard time listening person on the other line

This is not my favorite Bose products, it feels that it was a bit rushed to the market. There are many hardware and software parts of this product that leave me wondering why did Bose think this was ready for consumers? Upon learning that every time I put these earbuds in my ear I get the very loud Bose patented strum, which I learned is for calibration to the ear canal purposes. I wonder why Bose has no way to save this calibration as my ear is the same depth. I cannot turn this feature off. The next con is the comfort on these are hurting my ears and I cannot wear them for more than an hour. I tried the different size type and ear wings but none of them feel great. I have a Bose Sport and I wear the number 2 size for the cone and number 2 for the wingtip. I am not liking this product, so it will be going back to Bestbuy.

BOSE has been my fav speakers and buds. Sound quality, no competition. They are the best. But other than that, is another thing. And this one is my least fav. One major thing is that I can only use 1 side bud, u literaly have to use both to make it work. Its weird, and unbelieveable. Dunno why they decided to hv both work eventhough some peep, like me, like to use only 1 bud while working or driving (coz its not safe driving and hv both buds in your ears). The mic is super sensitive picking up any noise. I drove while calling, and the person on the other line told me that they thought I was vaccuming my carpet. Turned out it was my car AC blowing to my face. Yup, that sensitive. The AC air blow sounded like a motor running from vaccum cleaner. Too sensitive. Tapping area also very sensitive. When you move your head and your hair accidently touches the bud then the movies, music that you are watching will stop. Coz one tap on the bud will pause music/movies you are watching. So u CANT move your head while listening music or watching video. Coz even a soft touch by your hairline will stop it. So annoying!! And lastly the casing. It is pretty light and feel not sturdy….feels cheap. And the casing closure feels that it does not close well. It doesnt have a ledge that prevent dust going in your buds when u close the case. Totally dont feel safe there. Overall, I think this one is a bust. BOSE must step up in quality and safety in creating earbuds that we put inside our ear, especially in that price level.

Hello,
Thanks for reaching out and providing your feedback. We are happy that you've been loving your Bose products over the years and are enjoying the audio quality of your product. The ability to switch left and right buds between primary and secondary for independent single-bud use will be enabled in a future firmware update. For the user's safety, and for the safety of others, Bose does not recommend QuietComfort Earbuds II be worn while driving. Instead of buttons, each earbud has a touch interface to access product controls, located on the flat, oval-shaped outer surface of both earbuds. We're sorry to hear that you're finding these to be sensitive. Make sure you are using the correct touch controls to get your desired result: https://bose.life/3U8pYl6

WARNING!!! I purchased the Bose - QuietComfort Earbuds online as a gift for Christmas. When they died after 45 minutes (fully charged) we discovered that they were refurbished. The Geek Squad rep at the store confirmed it. A return and exchange yielded yet another refurbished pair (and dirty under silicone)! I went back to the store for ANOTHER return/exchange! The manager rudely insisted that "they don't sell refurbished". The associate assured me that the SKU number on the new ones reflected that they were not refurbished. When I went to have the Geek squad person check the serial number before I left the store, she told me she didn't need to look because she could tell they were new because of the way it was packaged. Get home and go to register this pair and it clearly states on the product registration that THEY ARE REFURBISHED!!! I DID NOT BUY REFURBISHED TO BEGIN WITH! I don't want my money back. I want what I bought in good faith! Granted, I got a great price for the holidays. And no, I did not mistakenly buy refurbished. One star because they are a great product. Deductions for trying to dupe the customer!!! I'm not sure if it is BOSE or Best Buy that is trying to cheat people??? Shame on you! If you have not registered your earbuds, I would suggest that you do so in order to verify that you got a new product. The serial number is very hard to see. You have to take a photo and then enlarge it. Attached photos show refurbished serial numbers. I am going to try one more time at a different store to exchange them. It's just so frustrating because my husband really liked them.

I'm glad you like the QuietComfort Earbuds II overall, Jacki! If one of the detachable eartips has split, this can be replaced. These earbuds have been nothing but trouble since i bought them. They're constantly disconnecting from my phone. The right one barely has any sound at all, and I've tried doing everything i can to fix it. So now I'm stuck with just the left one. The sound isnt the greatest. Even when the right earbud worked they just were too low. I have 9 year old beats earbuds that sound better than these do. What a huge disappointment. Bose usually has such great quality with their stuff, but not these. I wont be buying bose earbuds again.

Hey Rodney,
Thanks for your review of the QC Earbuds II. It's great to hear you were enjoying the bud, but I'[m sorry to hear you're experiencing the sound going on and off. This could be attributed to a poor connection, be it a corrupted pairing, or signal quality. Please ensure you're using the buds within 33ft/10m of the smartphone/media device. If the pairing is corrupted, I suggest unpairing, resetting the device and establishing a fresh connection. Reset instructions: https://bose.life/3OnoDpx.

Here are my complaints:There’s a lot of unnecessary “knocking” sounds while it’s on. Phone calls are not good. People tell me the background is very noisy. I can’t seem to use just one earbud while the other is charging. There’s a white noise, buzzing sound when it’s idle. Also, there are times when bluetooth connectivity wouldn’t connect. At times, the right is working while the left doesn’t or vice versa. This is not ready for release and must be updated. Im returning them.

Hi Ian,
I understand that you're planning to return the earbuds. Should you decide to try them again though I do have some steps I'd like for you to try. As what you're reporting is highly unusual and unexpected. The white noise you're hearing when idle could be the electronic noise floor of the earbuds. You can look at the information and steps here https://bose.life/3G3Fg5G that can help, along with the unexpected knocking noise.
Phone calls mic pick up can be affected by mic orientation, try the information here https://bose.life/3HID8lc to help resolve this. We are working on a firmware update that will allow of independent earbud usage. Please keep an eye on the Bose Music App.

These earbuds are quite possibly the worst set of earbuds I've ever owned. The sound quality and battery life are exceptional, not to mention the ANC which is really good (for the most part), but that's IT. This review is going to be a bit of a rant, so bear with me. Reliability and upkeep for these earbuds is utter garbage. I've owned these earbuds for about 2 years at the time of this review, and I've used them just about every day-- so keep that in mind. However, that being said, it's still insane how many issues I've had over the span of using this product that should NOT have happened given the $400 I paid for these earbuds when they first launched. 1. The "normal" earbud tips that come installed on the earbuds (and are best suited for my ears) cracked at the point where they connect to the earbud after a year of use. I didn't play around with the earbud tips at all, since the normal ones felt fine, however they still somehow cracked after a year of use. I'm not forceful in putting the earbuds in my ears, nor was I twisting them in such a way where it could crack. For $400, this should not be a problem with the earbuds, since the connection points themselves should be higher quality. This is more minor, as the "large" earbud tips are still fine, but not as good for my fit. 2. These earbuds constantly have connection issues. When they first launched, it was atrocious. I had to constantly reset the earbuds to get them to connect to my laptop or phone, since they'd connect up for calls but not regular audio. This has since been fixed for the most part, however the connection issues still happen. Let me put this into perspective for you: for the entire 2 YEARS this Bose product has been out to market, they've only released 2 UPDATES for this product addressing these concerns. They have since stopped updating it (to my knowledge) and some of the connection issues still remain. Heck, even on the newer products, they're still struggling, but that's besides the point. ANYWAYS, for $400, this should not be an issue on a flagship set of earbuds. 3. The build quality on these earbuds is sub-par on a good day. The left earbud (which has been used FAR less than my right earbud), is still like-new, with the only part falling off being the little mesh filter that keeps the earwax/debris out of the speaker canal itself when I tried to clean the earbuds. The right earbud, after JUST 2 years of use, is basically completely destroyed. If you look at the attached picture, you'll see that somehow, someway, the speaker part of the earbud and the backplate with the touch controls separated, because the adhesive itself didn't hold. Again, I have not abused these earbuds, I'm quite gentle with using them, but they somehow still managed to break over the span of 2 years. I don't think I need to speak any further on this issue, the picture says it all, but again. $400, this shouldn't be an issue. Moving on. 4. Maintaining these earbuds is a pain in the you-know-what. Once earwax gets into the mesh filter of the earbuds, there's basically no way to get it out. Bose Support recommends you clean it with a "dry cotton swab" to try and push the debris out of the mesh, but this is effectively the same as trying to put out a forest fire by blowing on it. You'll either push the debris further into the speaker canal, or it'll do nothing. Try to clean it with alcohol? Nope, the mesh itself will fall off. The Bose engineers really need to re-evaluate how this could potentially make their product harder to maintain. $400 dollars... yeah you get the point moving on. 5. Possibly the most annoying thing, because of point 4, the ANC on the right earbud doesn't work as it should. The earwax built up in the mesh affects the ANC performance to the point where the right earbud has substantially worse ANC than the left. The left sounds as it should-- cancelling out ambient noise with ease and making it very quiet. The right? I can hear people clearly, and the outside relatively clearly, despite it sounding somewhat muffled. Unacceptable for $400. In conclusion, I'll be real. I understand these earbuds are NOWHERE NEAR $400 currently. But, even with that being said, and disregarding my point about the price I paid, I believe that these earbuds are some of the worst pieces of tech on the market right now. You're better off saving up for the Sony WF-1000XM5s, or just going for a cheaper pair of ANC earbuds. I will not be buying Bose again for headphones or earbuds.

Thank you very much for your review of the QuietComfort Earbuds II!
I'm happy to hear that you've been enjoying the sound quality, battery life and ANC (most of the time) of your earbuds. I am sorry though to hear that the earbud tips cracked along the way. This is rare, but in cases of damage to the eartips, replacement sizes can be ordered and fitted for you.
I can also appreciate that the connection issues to your laptop and phone must be annoying. If you contact your local Bose support team and discuss this issue with them, the team will be able to pinpoint the issue by determining what is causing the poor connection. For instance, carrying a phone in your back pocket can cause unwanted body-block interference, so moving the phone to a side pocket can clear the issue up.
As for the right earbud becoming destroyed after 2 years, this is very surprising to see, as this should not happen as part of normal everyday use. In rare cases when it does happen, I would again advise contacting our support team for servicing of your earbuds. The same applies if wax has caused a buildup that may be affecting the performance of the noise cancellation in one ear.

Sound quality, comfort, battery life, noise cancellation are great. Connecting these is a nonstop nightmare. Sometimes it just doesn't pair, so I have to put it back in the case and try again. It can take a half dozen attempts for this to work. Sometimes they just totally break and refuse to connect to anything and I have to do a total factory reset. This happens once every day or so. I spend hours a week getting these to connect. Bose never should have released this defective garbage. Case is worse than those on $20 knockoffs. Cheapest plastic case I've used for earbuds before. And no wireless charging.

POSITIVES - They fit great and are very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The sound is very crisp . A little high in the mids and treble but that can be countered by EQ. CONS - When listening to music they constantly have a stutter/glitch/ signal drop every couple minutes no matter which app, phone, computer you use. When listening to podcast or books they will randomly double the voices, causing a weird echo/stereo effect. When they are around loud noises IE. lawn mower, saws, vacuums they will randomly spike the volume of the noise canceling with a very loud unpleasant sound then default back to white noise. They often will not connect to your devices unless you reset them completely. I found that these issues are VERY common with this model earbud after researching them a little more outside sponsored Youtube videos. It seems to be a software problem. Having been through all the troubleshooting steps many times I am not willing to hope and wait they fix these issues with a new software update. These should work flawless for the price.

These were great for the first few days - great noise cancellation, excellent sound, and comfortable. Then, there was a forced firmware update (there's no way to prevent these updates). Returned them two days later. Suddenly, the earbuds could no longer reliably connect to the app. It worked fine when first out of the case, but within five minute, the app did not know the buds existed. The ANC was also degraded. During quiet sections of music, there was now an audible hiss. I exchanged them and the same thing happened when the firmware was updated on the replacements. Read several reports online of similar issues. Guess I'll stick with their biggest competitor. For the price, I expected so much more.

When the earbuds decide to connect properly, the quality of sound and comfort of the earbud is top notch. However, the earbuds sometimes do not connect at all to my iphone or computer. Examples: When I answer the phone and would like to switch to earbuds, when I am in airplane mode but have Bluetooth turned on, even literally right now wanted to connect normal and earbuds would not connect. Had to factory reset. These connectivity issues are extremely annoying for a product of this quality! Never buying Bose again
