This is a one-way passive cable: the DisplayPort end plugs into the COMPUTER (graphics card or laptop DP port) and the HDMI end plugs into the TV, monitor, or projector. It does NOT work from an HDMI source (game console, Apple TV, laptop HDMI port) to a DisplayPort monitor. Your DP output must support DP++. Most desktop graphics cards do; laptops, mini PCs and docking stations vary, so check your port first or choose an active adapter.
Carries up to 4K UHD 3840x2160 at 30Hz, 1440p at 60Hz, or 1080p at 60Hz over a single cable, with multi-channel audio pass-through. Built to VESA DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4 specifications. For 4K at 60Hz on HDMI 2.0+ TVs, use a DisplayPort 1.4 active adapter.

20-pin DisplayPort connector with mechanical latch on one end, standard 19-pin HDMI Type A male on the other. To unplug the DP end, press the latch release button on the connector first, then pull — never pull by the cable. Gold-plated contacts on both ends to resist corrosion. 28 AWG tinned copper conductors with foil-and-braid shielding to suppress electromagnetic interference. Molded strain relief at both ends.
