Discover a deeper connection with the Descent S1 diver communication buoy. When paired with up to eight Descent T2 transceivers (sold separately) and the Garmin Dive smartphone app, the buoy enables topside crew to monitor and exchange preset messages with divers wearing compatible dive computers. (Some compatible dive computers can receive, but not send, messages. Conditions such as surface, waves, chop, objects and diver position can obstruct the signal and reduce range.) Those on the surface can use the Garmin Dive app to see the diver’s tank pressure, depth and distance. Surface users can also send preset messages to divers below to alert them of situations that need attention. For positional awareness, divers can track their distance and direction back to the Descent S1 buoy. Once they’ve surfaced, divers can also sync and review heatmaps of their underwater activity in the Garmin Dive app to gain a better picture of approximately where they were diving. Plus, with a battery life of up to 15 hours, the Descent S1 diver communication buoy can be deployed for a full day of diving before needing a recharge.
Surface crew can monitor divers equipped with compatible dive computers paired with Descent T2 transceivers(sold separately) to keep track of tank pressures, depths of the divers and more. Automatic alerts can let topside crew know if there’s an issue with tanks or depth ranges below.
Via the Garmin Dive smart-device app, topside crew can exchange preset messages with the networked Descent™ dive computers below, alerting divers if there’s a situation they need to know about. The Descent S1 buoy also extends the range of diver-to-diver messaging.
Viewers at the surface can track the approximate range to each diver in the SubWave sonar network, up to 100 meters away from the Descent S1 buoy.
Divers in the network can see the distances and directions back to the Descent S1 buoy, giving them clear return-to-base reference and increased situational awareness.
After surfacing, networked divers can review their underwater heatmaps on the Garmin Dive smartphone app to see approximately where they were exploring. The sturdy, compact 2-lb buoy is impact-resistant and water-rated IPX8 to 10 meters.
