I bought this model to replace my older HP Envy, and it's been a great device as far as functionality and portability. However, within one week of using it, the "X" key popped off, and the zero key on the number pad is loose. The keyboard and key covers are super cheap plastic, and many of the covers aren't securely attached to the keys. I don't do a LOT of typing, but this matter is quite a nuisance...and poses a potential long-term problem, as debris can get into the device through the exposed key openings. As far as processing data, this device is sufficient for my needs, and I couldn't pass up the price point.

Replaced HP Pavilion 7 with this laptop and I am very happy I did. The Price $529 was lowest in store for the Specs. 8gb Ram 256G SSD Hard Drive. I found what kept the cost down on this new laptop was the plastic case instead of aluminum and it not having the true 1080 resolution display or a back lit keyboard, Those 3 things I can do without to save a few hundred dollars. This is my first laptop with windows 10. I wont be running any apps that might have problems with s mode. The Edge browser I have NO problems with its seems to be like any other browser I have used, gets me on line and to the sites I like to visit. I don't miss google chrome and don't understand the bad reviews about this Edge browser. If your like me and want to check email, surf the web, download photos, transfer videos and pictures from cd rom this computer is for you. I could not find any other laptops for the price with CD ROM drive, memory card reader 8gigs of ram upgradeable to 16g with 256g SSD drive (SUPER FAST) for the Price. I looked for over a Week and found this to be the best deal. I also have a family member who works for Best Buy in this dep that agreed for the money THIS laptop with the specs it has was the best price if you don't mind plastic body without 1080p display, not having a back lit keyboard was not important to me either all those features just upped the price. It does have very nice HD quality display. VERY HAPPY SO FAR!

My Toshiba Satellite laptop finally broke after 10 years. I have been looking to upgrade for a long time but was afraid I'd be disappointed with any other laptop. I can honesty say this HP laptop is 100% better than I expected and I wish I would have got it sooner. The solid state drive is awesome in every way and the large 17.3" glossy screen is perfect for me since I use it night mostly. If your looking for a super fast computer for causal gaming or business use I highly recommend this laptop for its performance and low price. Thank you Best Buy for having it in stock at your store in Round Rock Texas. Jerry B

With it's large screen and full-size keyboard, this laptop makes a great choice for someone who want's the comfort of a desktop and the portability of a laptop. The compromise is that it makes for a large-ish laptop, so maybe not the best choice for someone who carries theirs around on a daily basis. The drive is super fast, but not as large as you get in a new desktop. But there are a lot of choices for adding cloud drives now, and that provides a little backup safety as well. One annoyance was that I had some trouble removing the da*$#ed McAfee install. If their software is any good, why do they have to try so desperately to get people to use it?

The only problem i have with the computer is the power button. it either is somewhat defective or just a little slow to turn on. Once turned on, it is a really fast computer though. nice large screen. a little on the expensive side if you are on a budget, but doubtful you will be disappointed. the easy pin login is a nice feature.

This is a wonderful little laptop. The only thing of concern (not necessarily a negative) is that it comes “locked” in a S mode for security and safety. While I can appreciate that, it will only run a very limited number of Microsoft approved programs in this mode. It would not run any of my needed programs (Cricut for example), until the S mode was disabled. It was easy to disable, but I stressed over it because once it is turned off, there is no going back. Oh, and it is loaded with Windows 10 (I really dislike Windows 10)

If you are like me you read review after review trying to find out what it is that makes something good or bad. I will tell you I bought this computer for online classes. I love it! It’s fast and battery life is really good so far. I have only had it about three weeks now. I pick this one because of the screen size and it’s great for reading ebooks or lectures. The down side of it comes in “S” mode. You do not find that out until you need to download an app. I had to take it out of this mode to get certain apps for my classes. Once it’s out it can never go back. It’s not as heavy as it looks.

Nice large screen and keyboard. SSD has great speed. Very little lag. The only knock on this or other SSDs is that they are limited in storage space. You may need to buy an external HD, if you have a huge music collection or decent size video collection. So far it has been a great experience.

Reasonably priced HP large screen laptop is a great purchase. I looked at much higher priced laptops but when I saw this HP I knew It had everything I needed. It's fast, plenty of memory and a 17 inch screen. Nothing else compared to the value I received. Geek squad recovered the info I needed from my old laptop & set the HP with Windows 10 & great security. 17 inch screens are hard to find these days. I'm very satisfied. Geek Squad is my go to as in the past & in n the future.

I'm impressed with how fast this laptop is. The included SSD drive with an 8th gen core i5 makes this lappy speed along quite nicely. Screen is not 1080 and that is ok but it is bright with a sharp picture. Not a fan of Windows 'S Mode' ( -1 star) and had to figure out how to turn that off. The 2.4GHz only wifi is just fine and provides for more range from the router over 5GHz. I'm not a pc gamer so I can't say anything about that. This will be used mostly for browsing/email/youtube and light photo editing. I think you would find it hard to find a faster 17" laptop at a lower cost.

Was in need of a new laptop thought I had found the perfect one went to order online and low and behold it went out of stock the morning I was ready to order. So out and about that day decided well stop in BB as I was passing not expecting much but this was a good find, large screen, lightweight, and so far did everything I needed it to do.

Excellent laptop for the money. Large screen, lightweight, tons of features, easy to install a wireless printer and fast considering. I don’t plan to do much on it but basic word processing and occasional media things.

We had 2 computers, a primary and an older secondary computer. The secondary computer died. I have 2 children in high school and 1 in college that do school work online, I use the computer, and my wife does an online Bible study group, so with so many users we had to replace the dead computer. We decided to get a laptop instead of a desktop for portability. We chose this laptop because of its size. Since we got this as a backup computer to replace a desktop, we wanted as large a screen size as possible. We like this laptop. The 17.3" screen size is nice, and the computer is decently fast for our purposes. The webcam is of decent quality. No problems.

I first decided on another Laptop that sounded like a good upgrade from the one I had for 5 years. It was not, because I misunderstood the specifications of the processor. Went back to Best Buy within a few days, and their return program allowed me to get full credit for that one and shop for another. Reviewed my requirements and chose this HP----cost more, but worth it because it's right for me. On sale, too.

Bought this for my other half, her computer went belly up. At the sale price of $300 some dollars you cannot go wrong. Great speed for I5, fast startup and fast shutdown. Sometimes I think it is as fast as my I7 10th Generation HP. Not a lot of bells and whistles, she did not need. Gives more than enough for everyday computing. Not crazy for the all plastic case, but it seems like all the manufacturers are going to the thin plastic. Also not a big fan of the built in battery, just wonder the cost in the future for replacement. But once again this is what the companies are going to.

So far I am very happy with my HP laptop. It was easy to set up and is very fast. The only thing I didn't like was that you had to use the shift keys with the function keys. I was able to find out how to change that easily enough, though. I researched laptop choices online, ordered & paid for it and was able to pick it up in about an hour.

Happy with the size of the screen and the speed. It was very easy to setup as well. I did add my own mouse - makes life easier! Glad we purchased this.

It has the capacity I needed - 256 GB - because I had 150 GB of data on my old computer that I needed to transfer to this computer and I still have 100 GB of unused space. Also, it has a solid state drive which makes it more efficient It's a little bigger size-wise - 17.3" than I wanted but it is still portable enough.
