By default, it only shows when you shift into reverse gear (triggered by the reverse-signal wire). However, Kenwood added a “Camera” shortcut button in the on-screen menu. You can tap the “Camera” icon from the receiver’s screen to view the rear camera feed anytime, not just when backing up. This works while driving forward (for towing, checking cargo, or just seeing what’s behind you). The view will stay on-screen until you exit it or switch sources. The shortcut is not always pinned on the home screen, but it’s available in the main menu/shortcut bar. Kenwood Head Unit
I'm really satisfied so far with this deck, I'm pairing it with new door speakers and an amp and subs soon and I'm looking for to it's capabilities

Not too expensive
I bought this—seeing as my Corolla didn’t come with apple CarPlay. I like that I can connect to it wirelessly or wired. Straight forward to use, and I’m glad I got this one.
