Hello Valued Customer, thank you for sharing your question! In most cases, no. If you use the correct vehicle-specific wiring harness for your vehicle, you should not have to cut or splice any of your vehicle's factory wiring when installing a Kenwood DMX8710S. Note these items would be sold separately. We suggest reviewing the fit-guide on the Bestbuy.com product detail pages that provide everything that is needed for your year/make/model vehicle, along with costs and availability. You can also connect with a Geek Squad install pro at your local Best Buy store with an install bay, to discuss your options. If you have any additional questions you may reach out to 800-536-9663 or email us at support@ccc.kenwoodusa.com. Thank you for choosing KENWOOD!
