Very nice machine. Black looks nice, but is high maintenance as it needs to be wiped down often as dust shows immediately and smoked glass shows fingerprints immediately. That's the trade off for a dark color. Machine comes in lighter color if that's an issue. We needed to have the door open the other way; the instructions for accomplishing this were straight forward and it was easy to do. Took about 45 min. Door has a two way opening feature so it can be opened from the top and side. Very nice feature. Controls pretty intuitive to use and didn't require the use of the manual. Previous LG machines we've owned had choices for signal volume control and custom load features that could be programmed for loads that are frequently used, nice features that are missing in this newer machine. Not a deal breaker, but they should've kept those feature in. Haven't tried the SMART features yet, but maybe there is something in that feature that can be utilized. The lint trap is a fold-able type where one needs to open it to remove the lint and close it again; possible weak point when opening and closing each load. We are happy with the machine overall and would recommend it.

Okay… it does dry well, BUT if you put too much laundry in, the clothes will come out very wrinkled. I can fit a lot of clothes in one load in the washer, but if I put the whole load in the dryer, I have to constantly make sure they’re still hot when I take them out to avoid all the clothes looking so wrinkled when I take them out. But again it does dry everything well. I rarely have to restart loads in there to continue drying. Big blankets fit well, too.

I must have ordered from a bad batch of dryers. I had to send the first two back after a slight grinding sound from the drum. However, they both dried excellently. The third one works great with no issues. I’d give 4 1/2 stars if I could.

We bought the matching washer when our old one stopped working last year. We kept our Samsung dryer instead of upgrading it because it still worked like a new one. Our Samsung dryer stopped working instead of fixing it we just decided to upgrade to dryer that matched our washer. I am very glad we did that works 100 times better than our 5+ years old Samsung dryer did! It is energy efficient and doesn’t run constantly after the clothes are dried thanks to sensor dry. My favorite thing about it is that it will run every few minutes or so if you’re not able to make it to take the clothes out right away when they are finished so that they don’t wrinkle! It’s so quiet you can’t even hear it until it is finished and you can have it play a sound or not(just the volume for that sound as well). Very happy with my purchase! It is definitely worth every penny!

The dryer is excellent, but I would absolutely not recommend the Best Buy install. They wired my plug incorrectly. Being still under warranty I contacted LG to have service done: my dryer would turn on and off by itself and would stop mid cycle. The LG technician came out and saw that the neutral wire was where the ground should have been. The ground wire was with the other neutral wire. Not cool. The CRAZIEST thing is, there is a color-coded wiring diagram less than two inches below the wires. Hoping this service call does not cost me out of pocket since it's not a manufacturer defect.

Would like to have a setting that I could select the time & temperature. Not all the settings let you change these. Also the Power and Start should be whiter as they both are hard to see.

Does good job but may need more time for thicker clothes to dry completely. Several functions to choose based on needs. Two options to open the door is a nice feature. Coupled with the washer, this is a wonderful purchase.

We had bought the same LG washer and dryer 9 years ago. The washer died. We liked the set so much, we bought it again. Newer version has WIFI. Notifies me on my Apple Watch when the dryer is finished. Easy load door was initially missed. One day I saw the latch, kinda cool feature. Lots of high tech stuff. It even drys clothes!

Dryer ok, but paint job not good. Cleaned a spot with stain devil solution and permanently ruined the dryer paint on the first day we owned the unit. Very disappointed in LG.

Great performance! I like the smart feature that alerts me when the cycle has finished. The display panel lights up but it’s hard to read the individual selections. A nice feature is the Dryer tub lights up.

It's very large for blankets and coats. I think it needs a larger filter because it'll stop when it gets clogged. I have to clean it twice on large, fuzzy loads. The matching washing machine is really nice.

This is a replacement unit for a defective one from last year's model. Slightly different styling, otherwise it appears to be good machine. Maybe a little too "smart" for my needs. Temperature and time are programmed into the modes and cannot be changed. Took a while but it appears "quick dry" is the only mode where this can be done. Haven't figured out what the AI mode does other than the short description in the owner's manual says it dries based on the sensed fabric-not sure how it does that. The manual is short on information about normal operation. The lint filter does a good job but needs to be "unlatched" and folds out for cleaning-a little cumbersome. Overall, a good machine. Efficient. Dries well.

Very efficient dryer. Not as quiet as I hoped but do like the job it does.

I bought the LG DLE8400BE dryer with the matching top load washer. The dryer is quiet, functions well, and looks good. The only thing I dislike is the lint filter. While I like the very fine mesh that catches more lint, I do not like the multi-panel framing and the clam shell design. It makes it too awkward to quickly remove the lint. Although this is just a minor issue, I feel LG could do better to make lint removal more convenient instead of having to dig lint out of eleven framed panels while trying to hold the clam shell open. While emptying this lint filter is a PITA, it does not detract from the overall satisfaction of the dryer. Others may disagree, but I like everything else about this dryer.

It could have received a 5 ⭐️rating from me in that it’s just needs to have a lower decibel level when drying up clothes. Loved that the door have two-way opening (sideways or top down) and it’s drying capability is awesome.

Seemed like a great dryer. Lots of drying options. Would be a 5 but we bought an open box unit off of the floor which had a loud tick every time it ran. Called repair service and they came right away. They found a dent in the outside wall of the unit and said that the drum was hitting that every time it made a revolution. We returned the unit due to the fact that my laundry area is near the bedrooms and is an open cubby so the noise was very distracting and open to the rest of the house. If I had a door on my laundry area I probably would have kept it. The return was easy. I wanted the same dryer but it was not available so I chose another LG model

We have had the dryer a little over a month and so far, so good. It dries clothing quickly, is quiet and love how the door opens two ways. Four stars because a basket was placed on top and it showed scratches. Would buy again.
