These headphones were a huge disappointment, which is honestly a shame because there are a lot of things I really liked about them at first. They’re extremely comfortable, especially for longer gaming sessions, and the noise reduction is solid. Sound quality is also very good, particularly for games where directional audio matters. For horror or competitive games, being able to clearly tell where sounds are coming from is a big plus. I originally bought a pair for myself and liked them enough that I purchased a second pair so my husband and we could game together. Unfortunately, after only a few months of use, problems started showing up. The speaker piece began to feel loose and would randomly droop without being touched. Eventually, after my Best Buy protection plan expired, the microphone completely stopped staying in place and now just falls down on its own. We take very good care of our devices and don’t rough-handle our gear, so this feels like a clear hardware or build quality issue rather than user damage. For the price, I expected these to last much longer and not develop such major issues so quickly. Now that they’re no longer under protection, there’s no practical way to get them fixed, which makes the situation even more frustrating.

Purchases this headset 27 days ago. Everything was fine, finicky charging dock (had to move the headset around to get it to engage which was annoying but fine) but then about a week ago the resistance in the microphone began to go away. It would not stay midway up but still functional. The resistance continued to slowly fade until literally it would plop down when it was up and stowed away. Returning and switching manufacturers. $300 should result in much better quality. Hopefully mine was just a dud but I’m not chancing it. Back to Turtle Beach I go.

Sound quality good when it actually works. $300 for this garbage headset that stops connecting. Turning on and off multiple time and still won’t connect. Im gonna buy another just to return the old set in the new box since you wanna make such garbage.

I want to like this headset but its truly just not comfortable. Overall the features are nice but the weight of the headset makes it unbearable for longer gaming sessions. I am trying 3rd party options but have not found much relief. The way the headband is made is not suitable for a headset of this weight. I would've returned this if I would've realized within the return window. If you don't believe me do a quick google search of astro a50 and headband and you'll see many other people.

I used it for pc, it disconnects constantly, it can be a hassle to set it up properly on the docking station and sometimes it unpairs from pc and pc has to be reboot for it to recognize the driver again. I heard from a friend that it works well with his console.

Genuinely one of the worst headsets you could possibly get. No one offers support not best buy not, Logitech the only way to solve any issues you’re having is to look it up on Reddit. bought a pair of these and have had them for not even a month at this point yet the base station is dysfunctional already? This might be a great headset, but I can’t get it to connect. My Xbox tried several times to get a hold of the people who made it. All they do is send me a copy of the instructions which I have followed multiple times to no effect so crappy customer service.

I see Astro still hasn’t improved their build quality. The brand really needs to address the headband stress points. I cant use this headset without it popping out of place it is constantly doing it on my head without me moving. I shouldn’t need a fix for a $300 headset. Ive been using it for a week now. Sound quality is good but i like the Arctis Nova Pros more. I also tried these out with wicked cushions to try and get some noise cancellation and more sound out of it. It is quite compared to the Nova Pro’s and more casual sounding. I bought this headset because of the flip to mute and all of the controls on the headset itself. One notable mention is that the flip mic does not give any notification to ensure you that you are muted, you must make sure that it is fully up and feel the bump it gives to know you are muted. It is really stiff to raise and lower the mic too. Overall could be really good if the build quality was much better and some other features were a little better.

Just buy a cheap $30 headset, you'll get the same level of quality that these provide. Horrific quality for being so overpriced! The gen 4 ones are so much better. I didn't even realize I had to hit a button, previously reserved for changing eq presets, to switch from xbox to pc. It has 3 ports for pc, ps, and xbox and you need a button on the headset for it. Why? I bought this because my old a50's base died, I'm going to refund and just buy a new base station.
