Pros: less expensive than other brands. Can connect to PC with store bought usb charging cables, at slower data speeds. Recommend the Brand name Link cable (the more expensive one) for ease of setup and gaming. Long story short, i had a fun time trying to make a cheaper $20 one work. -_- Managed, but i had to plug in like 4 different things, involving a usb hub and 2 additional power outlets. Does not require Facebook account as of 2022. Cons: the eye lenses replicate your real eye vision. Glasses do not feel the best when worn inside the headset. Also the lenses in Quest 2 have this strange lensing effect. Inside the headset, it can get warm. Find an addon that includes small fans for venting your face, if that bothers you. It does for me. Heavy on the face, if thats a bother for you. It is for me. If you cant stand having a light brick attached to your face, look for lighter alternatives, even if they're more expensive. Motion sickness can be a thing, double for some games. Recommend the elite strap thing that evens out and redistributes weight and pressure on your head. For additional weight balancing, use some velcro cable ties and strap a hand sized power bank to the back. Or get the Elite strap that includes a built in power bank. Quest 3 is said to be thinner and lighter, with different lenses. Consider waiting for that, like i should have, because I'm sensitive to feel and touch. But, I'd say the Quest 2 was ok for its time. No issues with build quality or software. And hopefully it leaves behind a strong lesson learned: dont force a link between social media and VR. Offer it, but don't force it. Vr can be more intimate with its connection to people. Psychological reasons, as well as societal reasons, more than what i can put into words. But if you consider how people may interact face to face, compared to a computer screen, you might get an idea.

Second time purchasing this same item. Both times, at almost the exact time from the date of purchase, the left controller went out. If you purchase this item, after around 10 months, you WILL get what's called a "drift" problem. You won't be able to control your movement in games, etc. Meta and BB will tell you to take the controller apart and dust it/clean it/etc. Don't be fooled. This is a temporary solution. If you must get the Q2 (which I understand, since Meta's apparently not releasing any Black Friday deals for the Q3 or Pro), get the GeekSquad warranty, and just expect to have to get a new system (the controller costs about as much as a new Q2...shrug).

As always the packaging and unboxing is an experience in itself, and it's fun to get setup and turned on but honestly the pairing process was frustrating. One issue I had during setup was on my app it didn't show an option for Quest 2, and the app was up to date. So without any indication why it was because I didn't merge the FB account at first so it just wouldn't acknowledge the option of a Quest 2 even existing let alone pairing. This was frustrating for about 10 minutes and wish they'd made this clear this is how it would restrict non-FB access. Once setup, first impression were that the head strap included didn't adjust as dynamically to let me fit it more uniformly on my face, and with the removal of the eye adjustments and changing it to only 3 static settings, I see permanent edges on the edge of my vision now which is annoying when I notice it, although during play my brain blocks it from my conscious site. Once setup and in play, the headseat is lighter which is a big plus, and controllers feel a bit wider for a better grip, the image quality is smoother and cripser being higher resolution and refresh rate, and the load times are much better for the games I've played on both this and Gen 1. Overall if this is your first VR headset you will absolutely love it, but ultimately having both I've found myself using the Gen 1 more and letting my wife use the new one.

Had the Meta Quest 2 for almost a month now, and while VR technology itself is really cool, the games are way too expensive, the hardware is not as powerful enough to run it properly all the time without hiccups, and the Meta team is already stating that it is going to stop supporting the Quest 2 after the Quest 3 comes out. Also, if you already have the Quest 2, none of your games are going to supposedly be backwards compatible with the Quest 3 so it probably is just better to wait for the Quest 3. Between the initial cost and then all the ridiculously overpriced games, this is honestly one of the most expensive gaming devices I've ever had.

Hello there DeliaC! We're sad to hear this. But we're happy you enjoy your device. It's an amazing experience isn't it!
Some users have mentioned that sitting down while playing helps. Also, you can check in the settings to see if there is an option to use morphing instead.
We hope the pills help you out next time!
Thanks for the feedback and have a great rest of your day!

The experiences when it works are pretty amazing. It seems to lack processing power or has glitchy software as I have to reboot it occasionally to clear out issues. Also wished the vinyl cover fit over the foam properly. I’m glad I bought it and look forward to mastering more songs on expert on beat saber. Expert plus is insane.

Greetings! We appreciate you for taking the time to share your experience with your headset. We understand you're having trouble getting that perfect display quality when using your device, and we can definitely provide some tips for you!
We recommend first checking your IPD setting on your headset to see if it improves image clarity for you. To change the lens spacing on your Quest 2, gently adjust the lenses by shifting them together or apart. There are three lens spacing settings for Quest 2, and you can find your perfect fit.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, please contact our Support team directly from the official Meta Quest website and they’ll be happy to help you further.

I got one of these for each of my kids. (12&14). The 14 year had the original version and appreciated the lighter weight of this head strap. She did not like the strap and felt it could slip off. However she did think the graphics and load time were much better. After two months she still plays it every now and then. My 12 year old son. Tried a few games. However his neck would hurt and he would get a head ache after only 20 minutes of play. He did say the games were somewhat fun. But prefers a computer. He ended up returning this unit for a refund.

I don’t play this nearly as often as I thought I would. My Afro hair gets caught in the Velcro strap. The device is heavy on the face, which caused neck pain. The game library wasn’t enough to keep me coming back. It was easy to setup. I can play this sitting down and within a small space. The speakers are good quality. The joystick battery life is good.

I waited a while to review this because I wanted to really have a feel for it...My main reason for buying this was the fact it is a stand alone and I don't have to worry about kids pulling on cords. It has some good games and the graphic are much better than the psvr. The fact you can wear glasses and it doesn't scratch up the lenses is a huge plus too. My biggest issues with Occulus are the weight straining your neck after a while and the battery life on it sucks. After 30 minutes it will be down 30% life. And despite setting it so you have to push the button to turn it on it still seems to activate with motion. So just the slightest motion powers it up and that kills battery life as well.

its very much capable of doing so much more then it is currently able to do due to the link cable being the most recent of all of the oculus quest 2 added cost items not included with the original purchase of the headset unlike the quest 1 i bought that had it included in the box already, to be bought up by a select few individuals online and then resold for up to double its original price to the point were most people faced with the choice to pay scalped prices due to oculus not having a steady manufacturer as a source supply or they just simply are clueless to what is actually happening just the same as it did with the quest 1 headsets just at the start of the new year and the pandemic slowing down and stopping the supply of headsets to be sold giving those select few the ability to create a artificial supply shortage and jacking up the prices of the remaining sets to unfair price scalping highs unlikely to be worth the purchase its sad that once again it is happening and the head set was just released what a month or so ago and already u cant find any of the needed cables available along with the manufacturing decisions that allowed for sub par materials to be used to form the pieces of the elite head straps that had a very useful addition of battery boost in the strap also came with a nice storage bag that was likely to be bought all up- and price hiked as well as the cable was but didnt have the chance to before its own faulty design killed it out the gate which then leaves u with just the original stock strap that is much likely to be seen as an insult to injury with its down graded like design from the previous model b4 it which had a very nice and comfortable designed stock strap that was clearly more well thought out and better materials used in its manufacturing of it too but aside from all that the thing that is really the main beef i have with it is that it was supposed to be able to easily be able to access the rift s games on it with out having to use the cable to link it and yes im aware of the virtual desktop app option and all but what im getting to is the very specific app that is the whole reason for me to ever buy one of these headsets in the first place and then the recent "upgrade" next gen oq2 and with lil suprise i had to bite the bullet and go out and purchase a gaming laptop in hopes that finally i might not have any more reasons why i cant access the google eaqrth vr app that has been just slightly out of reach through all my attempts to initially just be able to experience it in vr form like i see all the time in you tubes endless library of demos by other gamers that for some reason has no issue ever gaining the access i so desire but i simply in the end have realized it is just a joke there is no real compatibility with the app and the oq2 or gaming pcs with amd graphics cards reguardless of what the specs say on the oculus website for the pc to be compatible cuz i bought one that fell in the middle of said specs so ideally there should have been no problems with it working right out the gate with the oq2 and link cable option .... wrong it appears to be a on going nightmare that from what i could gather has been identically repeated over and over again by many peeps over the last 2 years str8 with no obvious work around in sight or even better not a single peep out of the facebook oculus themselves in reguards to the many open tickets that have been reported and seemingly ignored by the support team from what i can pick out of the lack of follow ups to the many threads i found talking about the very same thing i was facing just in the recent few days had first been reported in 2018 sometime and that is just plain sad and unlike a company that actually wants to be the true leader in the industry of vr like actually are at the moment but i suspect that not for long if they keep putting out crap like this !! i suggest not wasting your time or money and just simply find another vr competitor of oculus and buy their headset u will be most likely better off in the long haul !

Overall, this headset is pretty well built and user-friendly. There's also the convenience of not needing a PC, as you can just wirelessly connect to Wi-Fi. However, if you have the money, room space, and a powerful PC, I would highly recommend the Valve Index or HTC Vive Pro 2 instead. There were a few factors of this headset that I didn't like, one being the issue of battery life. According to a couple articles and YouTube reviews, you'll receive an average of 2-3 hours dependent upon the game or media app you launch. But according to my own experience, you'll be fortunate to receive BARELY 2-hours of gameplay before this headset dies. Another issue I have with this headset is the need for a Facebook account. While it doesn't personally affect me that much, it still raises the question of why it's necessary. Regardless, I just decided to make an "inactive" account, and hope for the best. Last issue I have with this headset is the uncomfortable headstrap. I understand that you get what you pay for. However, it's obvious that if you want to have a "good time," you're going to need to buy oculus accessories that provide that extra comfort, and battery life. In the end, you'll probably end up paying just as much for this headset and its accessories as you would the other headsets I mentioned above. But even with these issues, if you don't have the money, the space, a strong PC, or these problems just don't bother you, I'd still recommend this headset as it's the best one out, for now.

The Oculus - Quest 2 is just okay. The product is nice and cool. The VR experience without a doubt is awesome, but short lived for the cost of the unit. I don't feel the price is reflect of the production environment available. Without a doubt this expensive toy will get tossed in the closet in less than 6 months along with $430 price tag after taxes plus any extra games I bought. I'll be more disappointed when I see the sale price kick in and wonder why I bought it in the first place. For the kids of course, duh... The system did not come with any free game content or experience. There is not a lot of game content to really choose from or demo. Not a big store to choose free games that bombard you with advertising like on Android or Apple. Would be nice to see some Apple or Android games ported over. Something like Angry Birds would be so cool in VR. An online library with paid subscription would be better. With that being said, the quality and experience of the product are good. I just feel that price associated with what you get is less than production worthy. A lot of the extra accessories they sale on the side should of been included with the Oculus. For example, the more advanced headband and carrying case. Those two items combined are about $200. Only $100 shy of the low end version of the Oculus. No protective case? That's right, but you get to keep the nice box it came in! The out of box headband is a headache sometimes. Also not a big fan of 64 GB vs 256 GB version for an extra $100. They should of just integrated a micro SD expansion slot. I think that would of been better than locking the end user into two choices. Would of rather had a cheaper version in the middle with 100 GB with an expansion slot option. For my last Karen Cry, I do not use Facebook and did not have an account until I was force to create one by simply owning the Oculus. So by entering the VR world, Facebook gets to enter my world now. I'm so 1984, I don't want to be trolled. In conclusion the Oculus - Quest 2 is a quality made product with a awesome new experience. I just feel the product is over priced and not equally matched with a wide selection of games to support it just yet. Still has a long way to go and the public is being used to test it.

Very nice all in one headset for vr. Some might not like to head strap that it comes with. After market is huge on this. A bit front heavy but to be expected since everything is in the front of the unit. Easy set up. Put it on turn on. Have fun then easy put away after your done.

I'll wait till these improve and purchase again. I was excited and the best video I saw was inside the space station. I returned this because the quality for other videos just wasn't up to my expectations. It was fun to use for a couple of days, but at this time not worth the expense. If you can't wait then I would recommend this. Easy to return.

Purchased this for 10 yr old. It was really fun at first, but the novelty wore off after about a month. He enjoys the social aspect of playing with friends on other gaming products. If he could play Roblox or Fortnite he may still use this device. Really expensive dust collector two years later.

It's ok. One of the controllers broke after a year & it costs &100 to replace. The selection of games was disappointing unless you like child looking games. Beat saber was as good as it got for me and that costs money.

Its a very expensive netflix viewer. The games are basic, the balance of the headset is very front heavy. Got it for my kids to play beatsabers, was used for maybe 3 days and forgotten about due to headaches. Battery life is subpar and the Bulkyness of the Display cable is a huge hinderance.
