This PoE switch is amazing. I ran cat6 throughout my house and setup Deco X50 PoE mesh which are amazing and not worrying about a power cord made it so easy. I am using all 8 ports and they are awesome.

This POE switch so far seems to be a great product and is currently being used to allow additional cameras to be connected to a security system I have. This is also a great price that is being offered on this item.

Need to expand the number of Ethernet devices or want to upgrade to Gbit Ethernet??? The NETGEAR - 8-Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet PoE/PoE+ Unmanaged Switch is noe of the simplest, cost-effective, and reliable ways to do it! BTW, if you're thinking of getting a switch with fewer ports...DON'T! Plan ahead and buy "smart", I to embarrassed to admit to how many 4/5 port switches I have that I'm replacing!

★★★★★ Bought in mid-2025 for $129 (now usually ~$119). What I needed it for Power four PoE devices in my garage office: • Ubiquiti U6-LR access point (PoE+) • Reolink 8MP PoE camera • Another Reolink 5MP camera • Spare port for future use The reality Plugged it in, zero configuration, everything just worked. • 83W total PoE budget is plenty (U6-LR pulls ~15W, cameras ~8W each). Ports 1-4 give full PoE+ (30W), ports 5-8 give 15W PoE – exactly as advertised. • Fanless and completely silent – sits on my desk and I forget it’s there. • Metal case feels solid, rack ears included (I wall-mounted it with screws). • Green LEDs are bright but not obnoxious; there’s a tiny switch on the back to turn them off if you want. Only “con” (not really a con) It’s unmanaged, so no VLANs or port stats in the app. That’s literally the point – I wanted plug-and-forget, and that’s what I got. Bottom line: If you just need reliable Gigabit PoE without menus or drama, this is the gold standard in 2025. Been running 24/7 for six months, zero hiccups. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

Easy to use, Stable speeds, easy setup, works perfectly
I've been a network professional for 25 years. Netgear has been a player in my field as I move along my path. As usual, they deliver a very consistent and stable product that performs exactly as I expect...perfectly. This particular model (I've purchased two) was purchased and deployed at two workstations for testing POE gear such as desk phones, ATAs, and WIFI antenna. Connectivity to local and cloud services is a no-configuration breeze...plug and play. I've Tested with connecting to ZOOM, AWS, RingCentral, and other services with no problem, of course. I have zero complaints and will continue to purchase these switches when needed.

This is a great POE switch. It was a good deal, I got it with a significant discount. It is as advertised, just plug the devices in and go. No configuration required.

Upgraded my router and only had two LAN ports. Plugged this into the configuration and it just works. Easiest tech ever.

You need Poe to power your devices, don't need any Layer-3 management, want something that is rock solid reliable? This is the item. Been an IT consultant and MSP for years, for a small unmanaged switch you really can't beat Netgear, well made, solid, reliable and reasonable price. In all my years I don't think I have ever had an unmanaged Netgear switch go bad for a client, maybe 1 powersupply went bad, but netgear warranted it and got it back up working.

Recently installed eero from Frontier and found that it only one ethernet connection. This was not good for our setup so I purchased the hub so that I could have an additional wifi unit and hard connections to the new unit. I works as planned and I have no problems with it. I think it will work out well for us.

As a switch it seems to do the job and pass packets around; however I was surprised that two of my computers weren’t talking to each other despite being able to ping. It turned out that they both had an mtu of 9000 and the switch wasn’t passing the “jumbo” packets. Nowhere in the docs or specs is this mentioned. I ended up returning this and replacing it with a pre-owned managed switch that does support jumbo frames, POE, clans, and other managed goodness. If an rackmountable unmanaged switch on a network with no jumbo frames and light POE requirements is called for, this will do the task. There are cheaper options out there though.

Excellent product for the price, it saved my day with a small customer business. VoIP phones, AP, and a couple of cameras came back to life in the blink of an eye. All services were restored, and the speed is a plus.

Not all gigabit switches are created equal even if the specifications appear to match. I replaced an older switch with this product and it works must faster. Both had same high level throughput specs.
