A: This switch comes with a ProSAFE lifetime warranty.
Q: How can I monitor the network activity on this switch?
A: This switch has LED indicators on each port to show network activity status.
Q: How much power can this switch provide to devices on each port?
A: This switch can provide up to 30W of power per port.
Q: What kind of mounting options are available for this ethernet switch?
A: This switch has flexible mounting options and can be rack, wall, or desktop mounted.
Q: Does this switch need to be configured by an IT expert?
A: No, this is a plug-and-play device and does not need to be configured by an IT expert.
Q: What is the maximum throughput speed of this ethernet switch?
A: This ethernet switch has a maximum throughput at wire speed with 16 Gbps non-blocking switching architecture.
A: It is NOT 30 watts per port. That is the max wattage a SINGLE port can deliver. This Netgear has a total power budget of 60 watts with the stock power supply. That's the maximum you can use across all ports. You can upgrade the total power budget to 90 watts or 130 watts with a different PSU module sold by Netgear. So technically if two of the ports use 30 watts each, you'll be maxed out with the stock power supply.
Q: NETGEAR - 8-Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet PoE/PoE+ Are the PoE ports active or passive?
A: Based on these quotes from Netgear's website it seems Active. "If your PoE device uses the PoE standard 48V 802.3af or 802.3at, it is considered to use active POE." ... "NETGEAR has made the choice to follow the standard for higher security and better ability to connect and communicate with PoE devices, as the large majority of PoE devices follow these standards. NETGEAR switches can power any 802.3af or 802.3at device of the market, making them the most flexible, secure and versatile PoE switches out there. Initially, it might seem like a good idea to opt for passive PoE over the industry-standard active PoE, but it could very well end up costing you a lot more, in the long run. The only way to ensure complete compatibility with the majority of PoE devices on the market is to stick with the industry standard, active PoE."

This PoE switch is amazing. I ran cat6 throughout my house and setup Deco X50 PoE mesh which are amazing and not worrying about a power cord made it so easy. I am using all 8 ports and they are awesome.

The NETGEAR - 8-Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet PoE/PoE+ Unmanaged Switch is noe of the simplest, cost-effective, and reliable ways to do it! BTW, if you're thinking of getting a switch with fewer ports...DON'T! Plan ahead and buy "smart", I to embarrassed to admit to how many 4/5 port switches I have that I'm replacing!

This POE switch so far seems to be a great product and is currently being used to allow additional cameras to be connected to a security system I have. This is also a great price that is being offered on this item.
