I am full in Philips HUE eco system. I have bulbs, strip, blooms, some switches. I love how everything is working without a single failure. This particular switch is very helpful if you for example wants to replace bulbs in your family room. I've attached it to the fridge and totally forgot where is the actual switch located!

The A19 Hue Light Recipe Kit is an affordable automation package... without wires and doesn't require a frustrating mobile application to simply operate it as a plug-play device. THE DIMMER/CONTROL... is perfectly engineered; feels good in-hand with easy thumb control. Button clicks feel solid. A green indicator flashes in the upper-left corner after each press. Font size is adequate to identify during low light conditions. You can't tell from the packaging (nor is it printed on the box), but the dimmer is removable from the matching wall plate. It nests into a recess molded into the wall plate...and holds securely by magnets. Four, flat, buttons are vertically-stacked, multi-press "ON", "OFF", increase, and decrease. Pressing "ON" repeatedly cycles the bulb through 4 settings: bright white, warm, standard reading, low. (Not sure, but the presets may be adjustable through the Philips mobile app). THE WALL PLATE... can be attached with two screws, the molded-in adhesive strips, or the twin magnets on the back. Design is two-piece; rear plate attaches with screws while the front plate covers the screws for a cleaner look. Not paintable. THE HUE® BULB: Note: this kit only has one 'White Ambiance' LED bulb with a 'standard' screw base. Output is bright white light to a very warm. ADDING MORE BULBS....IS POSSIBLE. Instructions are vague pertaining to adding HUE bulbs. The Philips HUE website (per instructions) doesn't prominently display info for adding bulbs. HINT: add bulbs WITHOUT the app or bridge (sold seperately for tertiary automation). Turn on the added bulb. Hold dimmer next to bulb. Press and hold "ON" until bulb flashes. Release button. Press "OFF". Bulbs are now synced. POSITIVES: Affordable Entry Level Kit; great deal for price. Well designed controller and bulb; both have a clean look and feel. Doesn't require an app or peripheral system to work. Bulb response is immediate. Variable output is adequate for residential applications; 2200k (warm) - 6500k (bluish white) Controller docks into backplate by magnets. Three ways to attach back plate. Buttons have 'click' feedback. Big buttons. Easy syncing of bulbs without company app. NEGATIVES: Instructions for adding and syncing bulbs not prominently displayed on instruction sheet, retail box, nor the Philips HUE website. NOTE: I don't use the HUE app, so i cannot comment on how it operates. WISH LIST: Controller sides and back needs a tactile surface to provide grip when handling. Color options for backplate and controller. Like all instructions, font size should be increased for easier reading.

I purchased these lights for my parents as part of 45th wedding anniversary. I have been working with them on a slow transition to a smart home as they are now retired and living the "good" life. My mom was mention wanting a light with a remote control as she loves to read in the evenings and mornings while my dad is still sleep. Well this smart light/remote combo is great; easy setup ( as I have the color lights, bloom and light strip at my house), even connected with Google Home and I'm able to control them even though I don't live there which helps when they go on trips to make it look like they are home. My mom loves the fact she can dim the light and from her phone setup wake up and goodnight times that don't even disturb my dad. My Dad even enjoys the light as the remote is straight forward and a great addition to the room for my mom to read and my dad when watching TV. This has made it easier for them and they still use it today with no problems.

I decided a few months ago to give in and buy the hue lights (prices had come down) They are fantastic. This kit the little switch. It's great for my wife. We leave it on her end table so she can turn all the hue lights on and off in our living room. I use the Hue App, Apple Home,'and Google Home to control all the lights and other stuff (because I like that) but she's a bit more old fashioned. Before I had the switch for her she'd always switch the lamp switches off and then i couldn't turn them back on with the schedules inset up or my phone or google. Now, she has an easier way to control many lamps and I get to keep being a nerd. Smile.... you know that's correct. I am getting another switch for her to have dedicated for her nightstand so she quits turning off the lights in the bedroom with light switches and lamp switches. Also- the bulbs is this kit have a night color range. My set up wakes me gently with a very nice and soft light in my night stand. And then I can turn them all on to a bright and vibrant cool blue-white. My living has the more affordable bulbs (mostly) and I've decided I want only the type of bulbs in this kit. I haven't bought any of the "colored" Hue lights yet.

I purchased this to add it to 4 bulbs already in my living room. The light switch is easy on the eyes when installed on the wall and works flawlessly. The removable remote switch is an added bonus!

If you want only the bulb or only the remote - it's better to buy them together! If you are buying it for the bulb - you were enjoy having the convenience of turning it on/off and dimming with the switch. If you are buying it for the switch - you will be amazed at the bulb's variety of color to replace your boring lamp bulb(s)

I recently picked up the adjustable white Hue Light Recipe Kit to add on to my existing Hue system. Before adding it to the system I tried it out in a lamp in the living room. The switch and bulb come pre-paired and don't require a hub. I was very impressed by the bulb, it has very good color and can get quite bright. Using the remote allows you to cycle through 4 different color temperature settings and many brightness levels. Adding it to the Hue bridge allows you to change color temperature presets and minor button functionality. Overall a very nice addition to a great home lighting system, or, a fantastic way to get started with Hue lighting.

I had my doubts about this one but it took me awhile to get used to still getting used to some of the new extra features that was just released this week for it. The dimmer switch is amazing I didn't have to do any wiring or anything like that. Just simple plug in and play. I like how it had adhesive that way I can stick it right next to the existing switch which i keep on at all times because this new dimmer switch won't work unless the wiring switch is left on but I have no problems with that at all. I love this recipe switch and I recommend it to anyone who's looking to upgrade to a smart home

It is a fantastic product. Changes the hue of the room and gives a different vibe. I suggest those you are in to lighting to give this a try. My spouse loves changing the settings each night. Hey, now he has a new toy to play with. Great purchase! Try it!

This dimmer kit is an easy and inexpensive way to start home automation lighting. No hue hub is needed with this setup. The magnetic light switch is easy to attach without making it permanent .

I have started replacing all my lights with Hue bulbs - some colored, some white. It really does change the atmosphere of a room. Programming is easy and the life is about 20 years so don't have to worry about replacing once you buy one - just don't drop it... Nice to be able to bundle and program controls and also use my iPad and voice commands as well as combining with NEST HVAC control. Expensive but worth it and a great gift.

Once I went with Hue ecosystem I stayed with them. Off the bat my biggest issue is price. White at 20+, color at 40+ is very expensive. I’m always waiting for sales of a few dollars here and there to save but it’s rare. My house has about 25 light fixtures (I closing fans). So I’m at about 18 right now lol. I think I started in 2016. So it’s slow going for the money conscious. Works flawlessly with HomeKit and I have never had issues. They have updated app pretty frequently. Only issue is combination of different model bulbs. Colors are amazing with more recent versions so I just move older bulbs to bedrooms that don’t need great color reproduction. As for the white bulb. I got for an upstairs bathroom. May switch to color at some point in the future. Wouldn’t mind taking a shower in red during Halloween lol

I love all the Philips Hue products and their connectivity to Amazon Alexa. I have many styles of Philips Hue bulbs, switches and sensors, they all operate flawlessly. A little costly but completely worth the price of admission. The nice part is that the bulbs don't have to be bought all at once. Over time we bought and installed bulbs one room at a time. I recommend these products to all my friends. We often give as gifts to get friends as hooked on these products as we are.

I just keep buying more. Don’t love the fake LED color of many LED lights. The white ambience gives you choices that look more natural. The switches are needed for me as I use them out of habit when walking into a room.

Nice combo for hue fans. Not much of a price break for both together but it’s nice to have in one pack. Haven’t had any issues with hue products and with added home kit support they are getting better.

I like this little dimmer and love the fact it is removable and can move with me throughout the house. I just have to remember where I left it or always return it. It is nice and functional and has an interesting means of setting different 'scenes' with different numbers of presses of the 'on' button. This provide me with a physical switch which I can leave and guests can change the light without having the Hue app.

I bought the Philips hue color kit for Xmas, and just love it! Decided to add the dimmer switch so that I would not have to have my phone on me at all times. Plus visitors can control the lights as well. Saw this kit was a better deal that included a dimmer with light bulb because the bulbs can be a bit pricey alone but worth it to me. Very easy to use and incorporate with already purchased philip hue lights.
