Overall, the dashcam works great with clear picture quality. Pros: The screen is massive, which is great for reading information. The integration with CarPlay is seamless. My apple phone instantly connects without any issues. The camera quality is pretty good. I can read license plates from cars in front w/o any issue. Cons: The screen is massive, which can block the view of the driver. The CarPlay connectivity gets a bit complicated when multiple phones are set up to connect. The mount provided limits where the dashcam can get placed in the vehicle. Overall, the dashcam has been a great addition to my vehicle. I purchased a separate Goose Neck mount allowing me to place the dashcam within arms reach, but without obstructing my view of the road. . The mount itself limits how the dashcam can be

This dashcam has been a fantastic upgrade for my new car. I had an older front-only dashcam before, but this one takes things to the next level. The large screen makes it easy to use CarPlay for navigation, music, and other apps. Mounting it on the dashboard was simple thanks to the flexible, sticky mounting pad. The touchscreen is quite responsive—maybe not iPhone-level smooth, but still works great. Both the front and rear cameras deliver high-quality video. I tested all the resolution settings and found that the 4K option is definitely best for night or low-light conditions. The included 64GB SD card provides plenty of space for recordings. The included hardwire kit is a great bonus since my previous dashcam didn’t include one. I’m not sure how much power the always-on mode draws, but it’s probably minimal, especially with the screen saver feature that turns the display off after a set time. My only issue was with the installation instructions—they were vague. The video guide missed an important step about moving the fuses into the secondary slots on the hardwire kit connectors. Once I figured that out, everything worked perfectly. Overall, I’m very happy with this dashcam. It’s reliable, packed with features, and ideal for older cars without built-in navigation or smartphone connectivity. Definitely recommended!

The Rexing 4K+1080p Dash Cam with CarPlay is a highly-rated smart display dash camera. I bought this specifically for my older vehicle, which does not have Apple CarPlay installed into the infotainment system. It is perfect for someone who wants to modernize an older car without replacing the entire head unit. It combines a 4K dash camera with a portable screen. Records in 4K for the front and 1080p for the rear, providing high-definition evidence for accidents or insurance claims. I love how it comes with a 64GB SD card, so I don’t have to purchase separately. It also comes with a hardwire kit, which is necessary for the Parking Mode surveillance feature. I didn’t want it permanently stuck to my dash board, so I put a magnetic MagSafe ring on the back of the screen and mounted it to my current phone mount. Now it’s detachable for when I don’t want the screen to be seem out in public. Overall I love how easy it is to use! A dash cam and Apple CarPlay in one is the best.

I’ve been using this Rexing dash cam for about two months, and it works really well. The video is clear during the day and still very good at night. The large screen is a big plus and makes it easy to use. The only small issue is the adhesive mount: it’s not very strong, so I had to add extra tape. Overall, a great dash cam with CarPlay and navigation.

This Rexing DashCam has been a HUGE upgrade for our 2008 Honda Pilot. We had an older Rexing dashcam installed and it has worked great. But my wife has been wanting a way to connect her phone to our audio system for music. This CPDuo-9 DashCam has been perfect for that. The large screen is great for using the CarPlay navigation, Music, and other apps. But the drawback is that it blocks some of your view out the front windshield. Mounting it to the front dash was easy with it's flexible, sticky mounting pad. Touchscreen is pretty responsive, though not as good as say an iPhone. Both the front and rear camera offer high quality video recording. I checked the different quality settings the first day, and for evening/night/low light recording, you will definitely want to make use of the highest 4k setting. The included 64gb SD card has plenty of space for recording. The UI (user interface) is pretty easy to navigate, though it took my wife and I some time to figure out the best way to connect, since there are about 5-6 ways you can connect wirelessly. My only complaint about the CarPlay connection is that our Phones do not auto disconnect after turning off and leaving the car. We have the dashcam hardwired to always be on for monitoring, so it always stays on and therefore stays connected. But it's an inconvenience for sure to constantly switch the setting on/off on our phones. Installing was about the same as the previous Rexing dashcam we own. Not easy for newbies, but with my previous experience it was fairly straightforward. My one complain and wish for the next generation is to only have 1 cord that connects and powers the whole unit. Routing and fishing multiple cords through the dash of your car is a pain and looks ugly. Simplifying this to 1 cord (USB-C) would be a huge improvement. The rear camera cord was almost not long enough. We mounted the rear camera internally, at the top of the liftgate window. The instructions say to mount externally by the license plate, but there wasn't a good spot on our Pilot. The included hardwire kit was nice to have, as our previous dashcam did not come with that. I'm not 100% sure how much the always on feature is draining the battery, but I don't imagine it's too much, especially with the screen saver mode that turns the screen black after a set time. My only complaint about the hardwire kit is the lack of detailed instructions. They link to a video to watch with basic instructions. But I got hung up when I connected to 2 fuse slots, the dashcam turned on, but the car devices for that fuse slot stopped working. I switched fuse slots about 3 times and after getting frustrated, I finally figured out that there is a secondary fuse slot on the hardwire kit connectors (see photos). Nowhere in the video/instructions does it say to replace the fuses from the slots into the hardwire kit secondary slots. Once I did that, everything worked fine. Overall I'm pretty happy with the unit and functionality. I would definitely recommend to owners of older vehicles that do not have the built in nav screens and smartphone connectivity for navigating and streaming music.

This multimedia dashcam is amazing. Aside from the standard connection via Android Auto and/or Apple Carplay, the screen is huge. It's easy to see and the camera on the back has a small amount of swivel so you can have the screen slightly facing the driver while having the camera face forward. Resolution of both the screen and recordings is top notch. I owned the 7" version of this previously and this is so much better mainly because it's a tad taller so the camera clears the little bump on my dash better, resulting in a better recording footage. The quality of the rear camera is very good as well but it seems to squish the image a little more than the front. Maybe that's my own bias since I'm more used to seeing front images. Overall it's a great system and less expensive than upgrading the navigation maps on my decade-old vehicle from the dealer.

I really like everything about this dash cam. The video quality is excellent, setup was easy, and it works exactly as advertised. The CarPlay/Android Auto integration is super convenient and makes it feel like a real upgrade to my car, not just another accessory. Parking mode and GPS are great added bonuses and give extra peace of mind. Overall, it’s been reliable, easy to use, and well worth it. Would definitely recommend.

I am so happy to have finally found a worthy device that combines a dashcam and apple car play feature while giving me a sufficiently big screen to manage both the functions. And the fact that it comes with a rear camera, reverse parking assist, parking monitor using the included FM hardwire kit, and the 64GB microSD card are just cherries on the cake. I really like the large display and how it can be used in various settings like full size apple car play or split mode with car play and camera view or mirroring any video from my phone or tablet using bluetooth connectivity.

I have a similar unit which is a long and narrow 10" 21:9 screen. This one has the same functions like CarPlay, Android Auto, BT music, Wi-Fi video play. Sound can be output through onboard speaker, BT audio or FM radio or AUX cable. Things I like - 1. comes with almost everything, even with 64GB microSD card and OBD cable 2. video of front 4K camera is very clear, has wide viewing angle. It's running at 30fps with H265 compression 3. large 16:9 9" screen, more screen area than 21:9 screens, esp. in vertical direction 4. the capacitive touch screen works well, even with screen protector on 5. simple and intuitive interface 6. especially like the auto brightness function, which is missing on another unit I have. This is very useful at night 7. front camera video can be mirrored either up and down or left and right, useful for setting the unit in different ways Things I think can be improved - 1. wish it came with a suction cup mount 2. wish the front camera could also go up and down, instead of just pivoting 3. wish there was a USB charger port on the cigarette lighter power adapter 4. the speaker volume is a bit low

I've been a Rexing customer for years, installing their dash cams on not only all of my personal vehicles, but my family's as well. Having a dash cam is one of those things that you don't realize you need, until you really need it, and only then will you be happy you had it. One of my older cars, a 2010 Lexus, had one of the first Rexing dash cams I ever bought installed on it, probably around 10 years ago at this point. I decided to upgrade to this model as the car does not a screen to connect Android Auto/CarPlay to. Overall I've been impressed with this system. It was super easy to install. Even a non-tech savvy person could do it. The 4K front camera is super crisp, a huge upgrade over what I had previously. I don't even remember the resolution of the old one, but I think it was 720p. Granted that camera is 10 years old and still working, which says a lot about Rexing quality given it has endured 10 hot southern California summers. The rear camera is also a big plus, given a lot can happen behind you that wouldn't be captured on a front-only dash cam. If there's one small drawback, I would say it would be the size of the screen, being that it is quite large. Some people may see this as a positive actually, but given that the screen sits on top of your dash, rather than embedded like fully installed screens, it can take up a bit of real estate in your front view, especially on smaller sedans. One option that is possible is to offset it more to the right of the dash, rather than the center, however the front camera would then be offset as well. In the end, not a huge deal, but something to consider. Overall I would definitely recommend this dash cam, especially those with larger cars, older cars, or someone just looking for an upgrade.

This review is for Rexing 4K+1080p Dash Cam (Model: BBY-CPDUO-9). I've owned many Rexing products, to include their other dash cam models, and as with all of them, the installation of the unit was easy, the build quality above average, and the software rich with features. After testing the dash cam for a week, the advertised features seem to work well without any issues so far. I'm very happy with this new dash cam and the quality of life improvements it brings. This dash cam is a must-have if you're looking to give an older vehicle more life with modern tech. Additionally, in case it is not apparent from the review photos, the mounting base of the dash cam unit is actually not rigidly solid-- rather, it's a sturdy but pliable rubber-like material that allows it to conform over a curved surface like that of my dashboard.

For older cars that don't have carplay or android auto the Cp duo 9 is a good solution to modernize your ride. The option to also add a backup cam is also a god send if you live where parallel parking is a must. It's a great feature to have both front and rear recording as well as all the functionality of navigation and other apps within reach. For some cars you might have to find an alternative mounting solution. Because my dashboard is weirdly shaped I had to get a suction cup boom mount that fits this style of adapter. One nit-picky thing is I wish there was an option to have the main ports on the passenger side for a cleaner install. If you have a RHD car this shouldn't be an issue.

This external CarPlay/ android auto unit overall is a great unit, but it has a few flaws. If you have any sort of textured dash material the provided mount will not work, additionally using a stranger mounting tape also does not work. I had to resort to an aftermarket mount to securely fasten the unit. It is difficult to make an adhesive mount that covers all vehicles and dash textures but in my case it didnt work. -1 Star Rexing also offers a windshield mount which I did not try. The CarPlay function works great and connects within 5-10 seconds of starting up, I tried the AUX and FM options for audio and they both work great. I had to fiddle with the FM frequency a little to find one that had no static. The screenshare function was completely unusable for any of the streaming platforms, they all gave a "HDCP content protection" error or just flat out refused to play the content, so if you were wanting to stream shows (while not driving of course) this unit is not the one for you. Regular YouTube videos play fine; I didn't try to play any shows, movies, or live TV. -1 Star Overall, the main reason I got this was for the CarPlay (navigation & music) functionality, so it works fine for my needs.

The biggest plus is being able to play videos immediately without a phone. No app required just a quick navigation to the video playback screen and the SD card videos are there. Install was easy but I have installed several variations before. I think anyone that has wired anything from a dashcam to an amplifier will find this install to be very easy with the included kits. Video clarity is nice even in low light conditions. Late night and daytime are usually the best time for video capture. Usually right when the sun goes down I have very grainy videos as the cam adjusts to conditions. This unit provides pretty good video even during that time frame. The unit is larger than my last one, so I there was a little concern about the view being blocked. But the mount does allow for adjustment where I could make it flush against the top of the dash. The base mounts solid against the dash as well and tightens to avoid jitter as we go over bumps. There are several connection methods to explore for techies. We went for the Carplay and Android Auto route with ease. Paring was quick with both operating systems with reliable reconnects. Have not needed to re-pair or do any resets. If we are both in the car and want to switch to the other phone, the process is easy by using the built in menu. Screen of course has plenty of room and is much easier to see versus the tiny screen in our car. Very responsive to touch with music and GPS apps functioning without any lag. This is a pretty cool big screen upgrade for us that we feel we can rely on. Our old Rexing cam in my truck has been running for over 6 years now and we expect this CPDuo will do the same.
My car already has an in-dash display but it is only 7-inch, not touch sensitive and connect to Apple Carplay by USB connection only. I upgraded to this new dashcam from Rexing. I love the new larger 9-inch touch-sensitive screen and the wireless Bluetooth connection. I particularly like the touch of this unit. It is very responsive so navigating around it is very intuitive. It comes with the power adaptor to plug into the car fusebox. But I just use the cigarette lighter connection that also come with it. Installation took less than 30 minutes to connect the rear camera to the unit as well. Very happy with the new set up.

Excellent upgrade. I was thinking about changing my car since it’s an older model without CarPlay, but this Rexing dash cam saved me a lot of money. Now I can enjoy CarPlay and Android Auto just like in a new car! The video quality is super clear with both front and rear cameras, and having GPS and parking mode makes it even better. Setup was simple, WiFi connection works smoothly, and I really like the added safety of having a dash cam always recording. Great value for the price totally worth it

I've used this Carplay Dashcam for two weeks now and it's surpassing my expectations. My two favorite things about this dashcam is the fact that it provides a great Carplay experience and the fact that it's also a great dashcam. Carplay works well and similar to my newer car that has touchscreen carplay. The screen is large and high resolution. The touch screen is responsive. I especially like that I can output the audio from the Rexing via multiple methods. In my older car, I use the option to output audio via FM radio and this works great. The dashcam offers great quality in both day and nightime conditions. The touchscreen makes it super easy to configure the dashcam and review videos. The 4K resolution is crisp and I'm able to see details in the video. I'm really happy that this Rexing included everything that I needed to get started out of the box. A hardware kit and even a memory card is included. All in all this is another great product by Rexing. It works very well with my iPhone. Extremely happy with my purchase!
