I originally bought this item, because I wanted to store my calendar in a location other than my computer and smartphone. I use Microsoft Outlook for my calendar back end, so setting this device up was a little more challenging. The subscription service for this device functioned really well - every calendar item I had emailed to the personalized email address appeared on my calendar within seconds. The reason I rated this calendar two stars, is because when I went to back up the contents of my calendar so I could have an offline copy, I learned from their support department that the calendar export feature is currently in the "experimental" phase. I also learned to my dismay, that using Microsoft Outlook as a calendar back end did not provide two-way synchronization functionality with this device. I only learned this fact after pouring through the Microsoft support forum. The lack of two-way synchronization with Microsoft Outlook, and the export feature being "experimental" was the ultimate deal breaker for me. I have now gone back to storing my calendar on my smartphone, and have recycled this device to my local Goodwill since I can no longer use it.

Not very many options available for convenience. For instance you can’t have recurring events that are adjustable like a nurse works 3 shifts a week on different days not every week is the same, if there was an options to edit events to make adding 7am-7pm events on certain days and an option to delete make one day if needing to switch days without having to delete the entire event and start over. It’s not thought out very well it’s basically like a big outlook calendar which is already free on iPhone, if I’m paying 200 bucks for a nice digital calendar then I would expect lots of features you can’t even see the whole month’s events because the fonts are just 3 sizes. If you have more than 4 things in one day you have to click on each day individually just to see what’s going on the particular day.

I REALLY wanted to like this product. With 6 people in my family, coordinating calendars is critical. We're able to do it in various apps, but having everything in one place in the house was our goal. Skylight has great hardware. The frame is well built and touchscreen responsive. It would probably do great as a photo frame, but I didn't try that feature (didn't like the subscription). As a calendar tool, it didn't work for me. I spent about 3 hours trying to get it work with some minor success, but overall it was a failure. My family uses a combo of Google Calendars and iCloud calendars. Both are supported by Skylight. I after a LOT of tinkering (the instructions are poor), I got both types of calendars to appear on the frame successfully. It took another hour to get the Google calendars to work in both directions where you could enter things on your phone or on the frame. I never could get the iCloud accounts to work both ways. If I entered things on my phone, the event showed up on the frame. If I entered it on the Frame, it never showed up anywhere else. I eventually gave up. The system was frustrating. To get it working, you have to do things on the frame, in the Skylight app, AND on the skylight website. Bouncing between the 3 was beyond frustrating. The Frame got returned and my search for the right solution will continue.

I gave this product only two stars because of the unreasonable level of difficulty in connecting my wife's calendar to this device. You are supposed to be able to send others an invite link that will connect them to your calendar, but the link sent is only a generic link to download the app. After trying for a few hours, we simply gave up - my calendars are connected but she has to input everything manually. Support was useless. At this price point, this product should have been turnkey but was not. Internet searches confirm that our experience is common.

If you’re used to a modern smartphone or tablet, this is somewhat of a letdown. Clunky app, limited functionality, poor quality screen. It kind if reminds me of a low end laptop from last decade, minus the keyboard. The concept is nice, it just seems extremely limited for the price point. The only real benefit for a household with kids is chore tracking. I was also offended that in addition to the incredibly limited functionality, they want to try and upsell you basic features like a screensaver/photo frame. No company that i just gave $300, I’m not also going to give you a ‘subscription’ in perpetuity for some additional basic functionality.

It's a decent product but their support is TERRIBLE! Called three times about WiFi connectivity issues and each time they said I would get a callback from a tech support rep....still nothing.

This took up too much space and when it asked me to pay $39 to be able to upload photos....I decided to return it. We are back to using our calendars on our existing phones, tablets, and watches.

This calendar does exactly what it claims to do, but requires a subscription for all the nicest features. We returned this and found another on Amazon that didn't require a subscription to use the chores and tasks features.

When it works, its great. In less than two months it has completely stopped working twice. The wifi went out on our original within the week. Less than two months later the replacement skylight no longer turns on. We are actively troubleshooting with the manufacturer. Customer service is fairly responsive, but i shouldn't have this many issues with a 350 dollar product. Subpar quality and components.

The calendar is great. The down part is I paid for $79 for the subscription to be able to upload pictures and I was never able to. After many back and forth with customer service, I finally just asked for a refund. They did refund my money. I would have preferred for the pictures to work.

The software is impossible. We have three people can only get two on it and then it sends double events. We're going to obliterate everything and start over.

For the money you spend on this thing, it’s remarkably limited. Plus, to take advantage of basic things like “meal planning” or uploading pictures, you’ve got to buy into their subscription nonsense. Hardware and screen are poor quality compared to similarly priced tablet devices.

For the first week it was pretty cool. Then it started going black, flashing the SkyLight logo. After a few more days, it can’t be powered on anymore. Garbage. Returning to get a replacement to try again.

Ive had this for about 4 months. Finally got to use it for about a month. It over heats and the screen gets lines through it. Might just have a defective one.
