A: The Pro has better video resolution and more advanced audio noise filters. It also has more advanced motion detection software. Both the Pro and the plus come with two battery slots and one battery. You do not need a second battery for the camera to work but it is a nice feature to have. The camera is programed to draw power from one battery and then switch to the second battery when the first one is drained. The app will alert you when one battery is drained. You can then remove the drained battery, recharge it, and put it back long before the second battery is drained. In this way, you can keep your camera online with no interruption power. A second battery is ususlly priced at about $35.
Q: I will install the camera outdoors and it will get wet is this camera built for that?
A: Hi Luis. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. The Ring Spotlight Cam Pro is water-resistant and designed to withstand normal rainfall and snow. Ring products are not waterproof and should not be submerged in water or sprayed with high pressure water. Q: Can this be powered with one of the solar panels?
A: Yes it can but you need the solar panel with the usbc connection. If you have an older solar panel with the barrel connection an adaptor can be bought to adapt it. All around a good product.

Q: Can I adapter a solar panel?
A: Hi Mariel. We appreciate the time you have taken to ask this question. Yes, the Ring Spotlight Cam Pro Battery can connect to a Ring Solar Panel (USB-C). The device's battery level may vary based on the amount of direct sunlight the solar panel receives. It is important to ensure that your Ring Solar Panel is installed correctly and that it is receiving enough direct sunlight to operate as intended. For best performance, Ring recommends at least two to three hours of direct sunlight for the Ring Solar Panel. With the recommended amount of direct sunlight, the device will remain continuously charged under most conditions. I had the Google Nest outdoor cameras, and they always had problems dropping off and not recording for huge blocks of time (which doesn't help when it's a SECURITY camera!). I would constantly have to reconnect them to my router, turn them off and on to try to get them reconnect, and despite having 2 Nest signal boosters, I was finally fed-up and replaced all 4 of my outside cameras with the Ring system. The Ring cameras have so far been flawless. I've had them several months now, and they have never dropped off my router or not recorded every second of every day. The night vision goes at least twice as far out as the Nest (a long, long way) and the range of video capture from side-to-side is much greater, allowing me to have no blind spots with the same 4 cameras. I purchased the wired version with a plug, and each camera has a battery for backup should the power go out (we have a whole house backup generator anyway, so they would only be without power for 30 seconds before the generator restored power). The LED light is very bright and even penetrates well into our heavily wooded yard. It's great that the sirens can be linked to my new Ring security system (that arrives today) so that all my outdoor cameras as well as the indoor siren will go off if our house is broken into. The motion detection is amazing--the front camera picks up cars passing down our street that is over 200 feet away and is mostly blocked by trees and brush--I couldn't believe that it could detect that motion--and that's with the motion sensitivity set to only 75% out of 100%. So far, this has been a far superior to the Nest, which is all I can compare it to. I install my Ring security system today, so I'll submit a review of it as soon as I've had it a couple of months at least. My final comment is get Ring for all your camera and security needs, don't ever purchase a Google Nest product. Once Nest sold-out to Google, they stopped updating it, and now their products can't compete with Ring. Trust me, I've had a lot of Nest products, and they're terrible.

I bought two of these cameras with built in lights for my super dark backyard. They work perfectly and only notify me when a person is back there; no false notifications due to wind, dogs. They are seamless with my indoor Ring cameras. Best decision ever to add them! I feel safer.

Very good home security camera product. Was a replacement from an original Ring installation 11 year ago (which was also great and a workhorse that just wore out), this new camera was a cinch to install and is very high tech and a great bang for you buck due to the amount of options available. They make it easy. Highly recommend!
