I installed this dash cam with the hard wiring kit (purchased separately) over the course of one day. Plan your work in advance and learn how to remove trim pieces for a clean and professional install. The camera itself is very easy to set up and the height-adjustable lens is a nice touch for easy leveling. It connected right up and I was able to set my recording options and then get out onto the road. The daytime recording is high quality and clear. Don't expect miracles with reading license plates although it does a pretty good job of that. I like that I have the option to add the radar unit and rear camera separately if I choose in the future. I am still playing with the night mode settings as lighted street signs get washed out, but cars show up clearly. I used it in the rain and also had a nice, clear picture. There are cheaper cameras out there, but this one is feature-filled, high quality, and easy to use. It does not disappoint.

Great features, and excellent image quality, I recommend buying the OBD-II (OBD-2) cable with this camera is a lot easier to install. The only negative is that I wish they release a firmware update to make it easier to find the videos

The camera itself is great, the software is simple and works. But know before buying how you are going to power it, what you want out of it, and plan ahead. If you are keeping it simple with just the cam and the cig outlet power your good to go, but if you want to take advantage of the other features be prepared to pony up a lot more and deal with some pain's and hidden costs. If you have a larger, longer vehicle or a hatch back and want rear camera you will need to buy another cable, if you want parking monitor you will need to buy the wire kit and battery.

The Thinkware - U1000 4k Dash Cam has been great to use. It provides good images and I enjoy having the added security when driving and when I park.

I bought this as a gift for my grandson's birthday and he loves it. The videos are so clear. The warnings for red light and speed cameras are helpful. I think this is a perfect gift for all drivers.

This is my second thinkware dashcam. I upgraded from the Q800pro because this is 4K. I watched my footage and it is very clear in rainy day. I am still satisfied with this product so far!!
