I just found out these were available and had to have one today! I love how small the device is and it's 2 year battery life. We've struggled with winter temps that always makes us too hot or too cold due to the thermostat reading temperatures in our open living room. Very simple setup as well- just unscrew the back plate and take a QR pic or id# to register it. Install the back, then you're good to go. It can be left on a counter or comes with a screw to mount it as desired. I just think there needs to be a software upgrade that would allow a time frame of when to use the remote sensor and main thermostat. We only use it for when we sleep at night for a more accurate reading. I highly recommend this product to anyone with a Nest that has a oddly cold or hot room as this could solve your issue.

I recently added the Google Nest Temperature Sensor to my smart home setup, and I am thrilled with the results! This small device has significantly improved the comfort of my home throughout the day. The installation was easy – place it in the room you want to monitor, and it syncs seamlessly with your Nest Thermostat. The sensor accurately reads the temperature in a specific area, allowing my thermostat to adjust the heating and cooling to match our preferences perfectly. We use it as a temperature sensor near my son's sleeping crib, which works well. The Google Nest Temperature Sensor is a fantastic addition to any smart home, improving overall efficiency and comfort. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to fine-tune their home climate control. Five stars all the way!

Overall, I would highly recommend the Google Nest Temperature Sensor to anyone looking to take their home temperature control to the next level. Exactly What We Needed!

We purchased this to go along with our Nest Thermostat on our main floor, but have a bedroom upstairs that naturally gets hot in the summers. I was hoping this Nest Sensor could help remedy that and so far so good! PROS: - Very small sleek design and blends in with your home - Installation is simple, either set it on a table or use the screw they provided to hang it on a wall - Setup was very easy! Just use the Nest App and it will take less than 5 minutes - With the Nest App, you can schedule your Nest to pull the temperature from a different sensor during different times of the day. So for us, we will only be using the Sensor at night but of course we can manually change the sensor it pulls from whenever we want. - It works exactly as we need it to! Connects to the Nest Thermostat all day, I can use the Thermostat or App to see the different Temps and change what sensor the system pulls from, and most importantly it helps us know that yes our upstairs is hotter than the rest of our house and it cools the house to our bedrooms temperature instead of the downstairs temperature. CONS: - The sensor scheduling aspect only works on predetermined times decided by Nest aka Morning, Midday, Evening, and Night. So “Night” is from 9pm-7am. I wish you could set specific times to better fit your needs, but that could be done with a simple App update down the road. - I wish it came with a sticker mount for the wall instead of just the screw you have to drill in, but its light enough where I could just buy my own sticker mount and it would work just fine. BOTTOM LINE: - If you have a Nest Thermostat and think that some rooms/floors in your house are too Hot/Cold compared to others than you are probably right! The Nest Sensor is a very easy, yet necessary tool to helping your house be heated/cooled properly - you will not regret it!

Easy setup, good battery life, and most importantly it just works. I have radiators and have always had difficulty getting my daughters' room at night to not be too hot or cold because the thermostat is downstairs in the dining room. Now, with a sensor in their room, it's perfect every night. The fact that I can easily select which sensor to use in the Nest app makes it that much better. I'm tempted to put a sensor in every room that doesn't have one already.

Excellent Add-On Temperature Sensor for NEST

I've been a fan of NEST thermostats for many years and recently added the simple NEST Temperature Sensor to my home's HVAC control system. I noticed that the upper floor of my home never seemed to reach the set point temperature of the NEST Thermostat, thus added the temperature sensor to my master bedroom. Wow - so easy and a great add-on. It basically helps me balance out the control temp in the house by averaging the temps it sees at the main thermostat downstairs and the add-on temperature sensor upstairs. My wife is really impressed too. Gives her the comfort knowing that the tstat will keep cooling system going in the summer time a little longer than before, until the set point is reached upstairs as well. This is a no-brainer to add the NEST Temperature Sensor(s) to any home; especially if you have a multi-floor home or areas that are traditionally much cooler or hotter than others. I definitely recommend this little, affordable temperature to any NEST controlled home. Great Product NEST engineers !

Like many homes, the HVAC in my house could be more consistent. In my case, I also don't want some spaces to get air because I don't use them, but that's where the thermostats are installed. This temperature sensor helps me solve this problem by allowing me to control the temperature based on the area that's actually used. The installation was effortless and only took a few minutes. I was pleasantly surprised to see how far these work. I have only had it for a few months, so I can't say how long the battery life will last. They are small enough that you can easily keep them out of sight. Overall, it's a good product and my only gripe is the $39.99 price point.

The title really says it all. Despite the level of tech involved to make this item, it is a relatively simple item with simple functions: connect and relay temperature information. It does that quite well. I like being able to see what the temp is in my different locations. Also, they let you choose the temp. sensor that controls the thermostat. So you can have your house temperature set to that of your coolest room, hottest room, etc. My picture shows the one I have at my coldest place, by the front door, a really drafty place in an old building. When it's extremely cold out, I have the thermostat set for that location, at a bit lower than normal temp. If it's fairly warm there, it's nice and toasty in the rest of the house. They are easy to add to Nest and easy to use. A worthwhile purchase.

If you have only one thermostat in your multi-story home, you know about air stratification whereby the lower level will be freezing cold while the upper level under the roof gets unseemly warm. I live in a three-story townhouse so once I got my Nest learning thermostat, ordering one of these was a no-brainer. Now I wish I had bought the three-pack. I would only use the other two for information, not to run the HVAC but it would be nice to know what the inside temperatures of those other rooms are sometimes. Setup couldn't have been easier. The thermostat found the sensor right away. I don't understand their cumbersome, clunky time schedule for switching which sensor should be active at a time, either the remote one or the one inside the main thermostat itself. You'd think that would be a simple software issue so that one could program exact cutoff times for each sensor to be active. Fortunately, their odd schedule pairs up nicely with mine so I don't mind terribly. This was a very nice addition to my new thermostat and I'm absolutely thrilled with my purchase.

The sensors connected to the main unit within seconds, the readings are accurate using 2 other temperature gauges, and the app makes it all very easy to monitor the data room by room. Just a bit pricey for proprietary wireless temperature sensors. They should be 3 for $60 not $100.

Wow! Nest just keeps impressing me! I loved my Nest 3rd Generation Thermostat and other products already but we have a couple rooms that are used frequently and are hard to keep the correct temp. This product does the trick. It was installed in a very short time and I can control them (I purchased three for my home and may get one or two more) with my iPhone or iPad. It could’ be simpler to operate. And you have the option to put them up on the wall with the provided screws OR you can simply place the cute little Nest on a shelf or a dresser wherever you like. It’s a little guy only about the size if a hockey puck approximately. It fits in the palm of your hand with room to spare. It’s amazing! My home office is COMFORTABLE to work in all day. I can save money and lower the temp in THAT room. You can set timers for each device if you wish. Trust me. This is a game changer in our lives!

Was iffy about these at first, but ended up purchasing two for living room and bedroom. It is very easy to connect and use. You can set the thermostat temp in whichever room you are in and it helps tremendously. It also tells you the temp difference in each room, which is very very helpful.

Was having some issues with my nest being in a hallway and not near where my family spends most evenings, so I was very happy to add these sensor points throughout the house. Set up was easy and they’re small enough to not be noticeable. I was initially still really frustrated with the thermostat not kicking in appropriately, even with the sensors (it’s summer in Phoenix), but then I figured out how to change the thermostat from eco to normal and everything now works perfectly! Very happy!

For me, these are amazing. In short, I can set one room to be the room that determines whether the furnace/AC are running. Or, I can monitor a room, with one in the crawlspace, I always know the temperature down there, even though it never controls the furnace/AC. The longer story, I didn't buy these at first. I've had a previous nest thermostat that the energy company gave me and upgraded to a new one recently. If you can get a free one, you should, but if you like it, then pay for an upgrade, it's worth it. I upgraded and I saw that these additional sensors were available, but I didn't buy them because I thought you had to have some fancy HVAC system with multiple furnaces working together...you don't. I don't know why I thought that and I'm upset I waited so long. I brought my nest with me from a previous house. My HVAC system at the new place is literally on it's last leg and in need of replacement. At it's yearly inspection, I was told not to put any more money into it and to try to do what I could to keep it running. On a hot day, it will run and run and run to try to keep the kitchen cool (that's where the thermostat is) even though the bedroom and living room reached temperature long ago. In the winter, if we are cooking, the furnace never runs because the kitchen is blazing like the pits of...it's hot and the rest of the house gets cold. The best feature here is that you can put one of these up anywhere and then use the nest app to set which one controls the furnace/AC. No need to rerun the thermostat just get this. You can also monitor a room, like your crawlspace. Your Nest will support 6 I think, so you can have them in a lot of places....like wherever the baby is, or where the dogs are, or the rooms you need to know about (crawlspace in winter).

The Nest is such a great thermostat, and this temp sensor is the perfect addition to our house. As it gets into the colder months, I notice our back bedroom doesn't stay quite as warm as the rest of the house. This little sensor hangs on the wall behind our bedroom door and ensures that the heater stays on until the bedroom is heated properly. It was easy to set up and you can even tell the thermostat when to pay attention to it and when to ignore it if necessary. So right now, for example, we only have it set to tell the thermostat the temperature in the bedroom after 9pm, so we are nice and warm at night. Would definitely recommend for an older house that doesn't heat consistently.

I have a very basic gas floor furnace in a small Cape Cod house we live in in the Summer. I got this so I can monitor the heat over the winter when we are not here. It is working fine so far, but I needed an electrician to install it. I recommend it if you are tech savvy and it has many great features, such as the ability to heat different rooms at different temperatures and at different times of the day (none of these are relevant to me since I have one floor furnace in the center of the house) but I really recommend professional installation to get it to work properly. I have not tried connecting it to Alexa yet. I recommend the item if you have help in getting it installed.

Works as it should. I have had connectivity issues in the past with it losing connection to the thermostat. But I believe it was either my thermostat itself ( had to have it replaced) or too many devices for my router (now upgraded to mesh) and since I have done both those things I haven't had a single disconnect and that is with having two sensors in the house. Makes it very easy to monitor and controls temps in a two story house. Before I got these sensors I would have troubles keeping one of the floors at a certain temp. Now it is a breeze to switch between 2nd floor, main, and the basement.

If you have a room that faces the sun or one that doesn’t you know that no matter how many adjustments you make to the HVAC baffles you still will have rooms with less than ideal temperatures. These help you know what the actual temp is in that space and then you can target it for heating or cooling. It would be great if the came in other colors but they are small enough to hide fairly well. I don’t recommend setting them on granite or other items such as some metals that also are affected by environmental factors as they will heat and cool themselves and that can affect the reading. We also use these to monitor temps if we set it in eco mode while we are away. We can adjust from the app before we get home if needed.

We were not aware of the existence of the Nest Temperature Sensors until a recent purchase of 2 Nest 3rd Gen Learning Smart Thermostats. The Sensors came as a free gift with the thermostats as a promotion. They were super easy to set up and actually add a lot a value to the comfort of your home in that they actually allow you to set your thermostat based on the temperature of a specific room. This is helpful because the temperature can vary a few degrees between rooms based on many factors including the layout of your home, insulation, sun facing rooms, etc. These are also great for nurseries or an elderly parent’s room whose comfort needs may differ from other members of the house hold. This product is a nice addition to expand the capabilities of the Nest 3rd Gen Learning Smart Thermostat.

This was easy to set up and add to my Nest. Just docking it one star because it's a little bit more expensive than I would like, but it's nice to have to keep an eye on temps in a different part of the house than where the main thermostat is located.
