Create custom climate control settings in each room of your home with this pack of three Google Nest temperature sensors. Each sensor communicates directly with your Nest thermostat (not included) to keep your bedroom, living room or nursery at the perfect setting. These sensors work on the wall or on a shelf for convenient setup. With their low-profile design, these Google Nest temperature sensors blend seamlessly with your room's decor.

Q: What is the difference in using these vs. buying a few thermostats for my home? Do I only need one thermostat for my home and then allow these to control the temperature in each zone?

A: Seems kind of pointless if u cant control each zone seperatly. Sounds like they need to be matched with a automated register to control the amount of hot and/or cool into that zone/room. Otherwise you are heating and cooling parts of ur home you may not want to.

Q: Call me crazy, but wouldn't this sensor just make another area of your home hotter/colder? For instance, a master bedroom on a 2nd floor, naturally warmer because heat rises. If I put a sensor in there, wouldn't it make my first floor a freezer?

A: Sure, but I want comfort in the master bedroom if that's where I'm sleeping. That's what the time zones are for - you can tell it to cater the temperature to your master bedroom during night time hours only, but the main living area during the day.

Q: It says the sensor can be used as the primary, scheduled as primary/secondary, etc. Can it be in a room as a secondary unless the temperature goes above or below presets? For example in a nursery could it be set as the secondary unless it got too cold?

A: At this time the Nest Temperature sensor can only be scheduled to take priority during certain times of the day, but doesn't have the ability to only take over if a certain temperature is met. With that said we'll be happy to send this up as a feature suggestion for you.

Q: Nest is at it again. Why doesn't this device support 2nd or 1st Gen thermostats. This isn't a hardware limitation in those devices is it?

A: When the Nest Thermostat 1st Gen and the Nest Thermostat 2nd Gen products launched, they were designed without Bluetooth Low Energy capabilities and they run older chipsets with less memory and processing power than our newer thermostats. This accessory launch does not mean that first and second generation Nest Learning Thermostats need to be upgraded. They continue to help people save energy and stay comfortable, and they receive regular software updates just like the newer thermostats. They simply do not work with this specific accessory.

Q: Does the Nest app provide you with current temperature for each sensor?

A: Yes, each sensor will monitor temperature in the location it is installed and you can control the rooms individually.

Q: Will the Nest app show the temperature readings of each sensor on the app?

A: Yes in the app one will be able to see the temperature of the thermostat and each attached sensor. Farsight will show the temperature from the sensor (thermostats built in or remote) that is currently set to control the temperature.

Q: How is it powered?

A: They run on one CR2 3V lithium battery (included with it), and it has up to 2-year battery life.
