Bought this for my nephew because Sinnoh was one of my favorite regions of pokemon growing up. He loved the game and I’m glad he got to relive some pf my fondest memories in HD.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond is a really fun game. It quite faithfully recreates the original, but puts it in HD and with a nice, clean coat of graphics. The title runs nice, has many Pokemon to collect, and is all around solid.

Great game if your new to the series or want to relieve the older game but with 3d models. I recommend it then. Wanting something more akin to Sword or Shield or Breath of Wild like aesthetic? no I don't recommend it. My own personal take is that the game is overall a pretty decent game, not terribly bad, but also not terribly amazing. in between. The game feels too easy at times, but also allows you to play however you'd like, so if you want to raise 1 pokemon, or do a nuzlocke, you are free to do so. ironically there is a mechanic that is very, very helpful for nuzlocke challenges. Wherein your pokemon's friendship will allow it to take critical hits and be left with 1 HP to continue battling. A con of the game however is that there is less "newer" Pokémon from Gen 4 available, so you'll see Gen 1-3 fill in some gaps for encounters. It's classic pokemon, albeit with a few updated features. Still linear, so you HAVE to do the gyms in order, so no semi open world.

Pokémon. Its been awhile. Grew up on the gameboy color so this is just amazing to play with these graphics especially on the oled switch. Fun time especially for 30 bucks on sale

This is a brilliant ( no pun intended ) remake of the Pokémon Diamond, it brings you back to all the feels when you first went to that region and the graphics are top notch and super fun.

I LOVE THIS GAME!! been playing Pokemon since Leaf Green came out and Diamond & Platinum were some of my favorite games with Platinum being my favorite Pokemon game!! Some might see how graphics are different but you quickly forget that because it does look beautiful!! It would have been better if they added more to it but it's a full remake 1 for 1 basically. That's GREAT! just could have expanded on the Switch technically but to be honest it doesn't fault it at all! It's beautiful, it plays well, it Mixes some good aspects of other Pokemon games, the modernization makes it so fresh!!! SOO worth it!!

Lots of fun. Difficulty scaling is not the greatest though. Team was significantly over powered through the game until the Elite 4. Fun remake of a classic

Pros: Looks amazing on the switch. Fun as always. Cons: Very easy to out level the trainers and pokemon in the area you are in. Overall still classic fun.

Great remaster of the original version. My grandson loves this game. I played a little and it reminded me of the times I use to play with my boys. Graphics and details are a better than that of 20 years ago. This game plays well on the Nintendo Switch.

I bought this on sale and it was more fun than I was expecting given that it was a remake. If you are deciding between this and Legends: Arceus, definitely get Arceus, but overall I was happy I decided to get Brilliant Diamond too.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond on the Nintendo Switch offers a nostalgic trip back to the Sinnoh region with a fresh and polished experience. As a remake of the classic Diamond version, the game beautifully recreates the original storyline and locations while introducing updated graphics and gameplay mechanics. One of the standout aspects of this game is the attention to detail in capturing the essence of the original. From the charming 2D sprites to the iconic music, it's a wonderful journey down memory lane for long-time fans. The game also adds some quality of life improvements, such as faster gameplay options, which make the overall experience more enjoyable. The battle system remains true to its roots, maintaining the turn-based mechanics and allowing for strategic battles with the vast array of Pokémon available. The inclusion of the Underground explained in more detail allows players to explore and enjoy multiplayer features such as secret bases, adding a new layer of fun and interaction. The updated graphics are a significant improvement, giving the game a refreshing look while preserving the charm and aesthetics that made Diamond so memorable. The attention to detail can be seen in character designs, environments, and Pokémon animations, making the game visually appealing. While there are a few minor flaws, like occasional frame rate drops, they do not significantly impact the overall experience.

Reliving my childhood! This game looks great, you’ll get used to the small character models after a while. The soundtrack sounds as great as it did back in 2007. If you enjoyed the originals you’ll enjoy this one. If you are too influenced by nostalgia then you might miss out on enjoying this one. Don’t try to nitpick how different it is from the original, enjoy it for what it is and you’ll have a great time playing. The underground is fun & you can catch cool pokemon down there too!

Pokemn Brilliant Diamond is exactly what you would expect from the Pokemon Company when it comes to remaking one of their older titles. The updates they provide are nice to polish up the gameplay and models for a more modern look. However there are not many alterations to the original game that was released 15 years ago to make this stand out. If you are a fan of the original Diamond / Pearl and want a nostalgic throw-back, this game is for you. However if you are looking for something different and fresh, maybe try the new Pokemon Legends game that looks to completely change the original Pokemon formula.

As a long-time fan of the Pokémon series, I, like many others, was extremely excited for this installment to the arsenal of games, especially after the previous games (Sword and Shield) that brought more disappointment than enjoyment. While Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl did not fully reach my expectations, they were definitely good. The games are fun and enjoyable, but far from challenging. There is a friendship mechanic in battle that makes Pokémon you use frequently begin to land stronger hits occasionally, dodge enemy attacks, remove debuffs from themselves, or even survive attacks that would normally knock them out. However, the frequency of these makes it feel like cheating because the player is the only one who ever gets to do this, and it robs the player of the feeling of accomplishment when they want to strategize. The games can still include this, but it should be a feature that can be turned on or off, but it is mandatory. Another issue is the following Pokémon. The game has a feature where you can have a Pokémon accompany you while you explore the world, but the Pokémon are sometimes sized inaccurately or have almost completely idle walking and running animations. For an example, the Pokémon Rayquaza, a sky dragon that is 23 feet long, appears like a coiled-up garden snake that is almost perfectly still as it hovers behind the player. Furthermore, the animations are far from stellar. They follow the trend of the previous 3D installments of the series, with carbon-copy animations with different effects for different moves. Despite these flaws, the games are exceedingly enjoyable to play. I have loved the selection of cool and iconic Pokémon to play the game with, and the exploration has been smooth. When these games were announced, I was afraid that I would be robbed of a good experience in the region the games take place in, but after having played the vast majority of what it has to offer, I feel quite satisfied.
