Tap Devices and select the doorbell or camera you'd like to reconnect to wifi. Tap the Device Health tile. Under Network, tap Change Network and follow the prompts in the app. Allow some time for your device to fully reconnect to the network, then check your wifi signal strength in Device Health to confirm it has successfully reconnected.

      Hi IrmaR.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is to have your Ring Stick Up Cam capture all the correct motion events. The Ring Stick Up Cam was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issues you mentioned in your review.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."

Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
      Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
      Tap "Motion Settings."
      Tap "Smart Alerts."
      Tap "Enable Feature."
      Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."

The Ring Stick Up Cam is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz frequencies. High-speed internet is recommended. If your Ring device is far from your wifi router, it may be experiencing connection issues.

Here are a few of the top reasons for poor connectivity:
Your Ring device may be too far from your WiFi router.
Your mobile device has a low signal or poor connection.
Your home wifi connection is poor (or your internet service provider is experiencing high traffic).

To learn more about your device's signal strength, follow these steps:
      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the menu (☰).
      Tap “Devices.”
Select the ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the “Device Health” tile.
Scroll to “Signal Strength” under the “Network” section.
The green, amber, and red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good; red is poor.
Move your wifi router off the floor.

Walls, floors, and furniture can interfere with or weaken your router's wireless signal. Choose an elevated, central, open location for your wifi router.

Check your mobile device's signal. If your mobile device has one or two bars, this could be causing issues accessing your Ring device. For best results, make sure you're connected to wifi from wherever you are.

Most internet service providers range from 100–400 mbps (megabytes per second) for download speed and 10–100 mbps for uploading. If your wifi speed is falling below the ranges noted above, we recommend contacting your internet service provider.

If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Stick Up Cam, please reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences directly with Ring.

      Thank you,

      Hi AEvans.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand the importance of having a solid charge on your Ring Stick Up Cam so that you are able to have a longer time between charge cycles. Having longevity in a battery-powered security device is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are away for long periods of time. We are here to provide you with some education to resolve the battery life issue you mentioned in your review.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. The Ring Stick Up Cam is our leading indoor and outdoor-ready security camera with flexible mounting options.

There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal battery-life performance. The more events captured by your Ring Stick Up Cam, the more your battery is used. Using "Live View" can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner.

To prevent excessive activity, under "Motion Settings" for your device in the Ring app, you can:

Adjust your "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a lower sensitivity.
      Redraw your "Customizable Motion Zones."
Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically.
You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.

You can go to "Power Settings" in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery.

To access "Power Settings," open the Ring app:

Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the dashboard.
      Tap "Devices."
Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check.
Tap "Power Settings" to check your "Battery Level" percentage and "Feature Power Usage."
Tap a feature to adjust "Snapshot Capture," "Motion Frequency," and "Video Recording Length.".

If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Stick Up Cam, please reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences directly with Ring.

Thank you for being the best part of Ring! Have a wonderful day!

Hi CarlaP, I understand the importance of being able to rely on your Stick Up Cam for peace of mind. Hello Raae,

Ring Protect Plan is an optional subscription service that allows video recordings from your Ring devices to be saved in your Ring account. Without Ring Protect Plan, you can do Live View on your doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you do not get video recordings of those events.

You can subscribe to the Ring Protect Basic Plan or Ring Protect Plus Plan on a monthly or yearly basis. Ring Protect Basic covers devices individually. Ring Protect Plus Plan covers all devices at the same location. This help article can provide more details on the Ring Protection Plan: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001671383-General-Information-on-Ring-Protect-Subscription-Plans.

      Hi Ashley.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

We understand how important it is for your device to pick up the correct motion. Being able to rely on the alerts to know when there are people at your home is an essential feature of the Ring Stick Up Cam. We want to ensure your device is working as intended by providing you with solutions to resolve the concern you mentioned in your review.

It sounds like you have some concerns with your device picking up motion. To get proper motion detection, cameras should not be placed facing a window or in front of a glass door. The motion detection range on Ring devices is up to around 30 feet with the Motion Sensitivity slider at the maximum level. If you turn motion sensitivity down, this range will be lower. To make sure you don’t miss important motion detection features and updates, make sure you have the latest version of the Ring app downloaded on your iOS or Android device.

Hi Angelica. If you are experiencing low quality with one device and not the other, it may be due to your RSSI. I wasn't happy with the bowlfish view or the quality of the grainy video. It's not a good choice for outdoor use. Set I set it up as a second camera indoors and it's excellent indoors. So 9f you're looking for a outdoor security camera, this isn't a good choice. I'm basing my rating off outdoor use.

      * If you are experiencing poor audio or video quality during a live view, but your recordings are fine, this can be caused by either a poor connection between your mobile device and the cloud servers, or a connectivity problem between the Ring device and your router. Hi Neysa.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is for your Ring Stick Up Cam to function consistently and reliably, so you are alerted to any wanted or unwanted activity in or around your home. The features and technology provided by the Ring Stick Up Cam are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.

It sounds like the device is not operating as intended. Stick Up Cam Battery is a versatile security camera that can be used both indoors and outdoors. Ring Stick Up Cam Battery features 1080p full HD resolution, Color Night Vision, Two-Way Talk, HD video recording, a wide angle view, and Customizable Motion Zones. There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal performance.

As cold weather sets in, lithium-ion batteries like those used in the Ring Stick Up Cam may experience several issues including trouble holding a charge, running out of power faster than normal, or losing functionality. Knowing at what temperature batteries will start to be impacted can help you take the necessary steps to keep your device working. When the temperature drops to:

36°F (3°C): The battery may not hold a charge as effectively, resulting in having to charge the unit more frequently.
32°F (0°C): The battery may not charge at all. Even hardwired configurations may not charge the battery.
-5°F (-20.5°C): The battery may stop working completely until temperatures warm up.

When it gets cold and your device's battery runs out, bring your entire device inside and charge the battery with a USB cord. This will allow your device to warm up while the battery charges.

The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using Live View often can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner. To prevent excessive activity, under Motion Settings for your device in the Ring app you can:

Adjust your Motion Sensitivity slider to a lower sensitivity.
      Redraw your Customizable Motion Zones.
Change Motion Frequency to regularly or periodically.
You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

We understand how important it is to have clear audio and a prolonged battery life from your Ring Stick Up Cam. These features and the technology provided by the Ring Stick Up Cam are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We can definitely provide additional information to ensure you are getting the most from your Ring device.

It sounds like you have some concerns with the audio quality and the battery life of your device. The rechargeable battery can go months between recharges with normal use. This is dependent on a number of factors in your home’s environment, such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. A poor wifi connection can also impact your battery life as well as the audio quality you experience. Even if your internet speeds are good, you may still have an issue with the strength of the signal between your router and the Ring device. Signal strength is just as important as speed when it comes to transmitting audio and video from your Ring device to your Ring app. Follow these steps to check the strength of your wifi signal:

      Open your Ring app.
Tap on the three lines on the top left of the screen.
      Select Devices.
Tap on the Ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the Device Health tile.
On the Device Health screen, look at your Signal Strength under the Network section.
If your signal is poor or very poor, this can be caused by the distance between the router and your Ring device, the layout of your home, or interference caused by other devices (TVs, games consoles, etc.) or materials in your home such as stucco, brick, metal, large mirrors, or glass doors.

I have 2 boys who do ABA therapies at home, 2 different therapists. I can't be in both rooms at once, so this indoor camara helps me keep an eye on my kids during their sessions. Best investment.

      Hello Jose,

Ring understands the importance of having your Ring Stick Up Cam, online and working so you can keep your home secure. We know you rely on your Ring Stick Up to keep your home secure.

The Stick Up Cam is designed to work in many environments to provide you with peace of mind and security.

If you're not able to successfully complete a setup, try rebooting your modem and/or router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, these devices like to be rebooted about once a month for optimal performance.

To reboot these devices, follow the instructions below:

Unplug your router or model from its power supply (don't just turn it off).

If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.

Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.

Wait for your internet to be restored.

Confirm that your internet has been restored by connecting another device to your wifi network and trying to access a website, then repeat the setup process.

When you’ve tried everything else, and setting up your Ring device still isn’t succeeding, try performing a hard reset. To perform a hard reset on any Ring product, hold down the setup button for just over 15 seconds and then release it.

We would love to connect with you today to help ensure your device is set up properly and you are able to take advantage of all the great features your Stick Up Cam has to offer. Please reach out to us directly via our community forum at https://community.ring.com/ so we can find a solution to best resolve this and ensure the device is functioning as it was intended.

      Thank you,
      Antonio from Ring Ring
