Q: Can The camera be mounted from the ceiling?
A: No the two mounting positions are on the base/bottom of the device and the back about mid way. It doesn't auto rotate the image if you turn it upside down to mount from the bottom also there is a small track ball in the mounting piece that doesn't give much allowance in positioning it away from the wall you are mounting on.
Q: Does rain water pose any problems if placed outdoors?
A: I have on issues with weather and the use of the camera.
Q: How long does the battery last under normal use.
A: Mines last about 2 weeks and I live at a corner house.
Q: Can it link directly remotely to iPhone or do you need Wi-Fi? How about laptop?

A 2.4GHz internet connection is still needed for the Ring Stickup Camera to work as intended.
