Forgot to put it in my car to listen to it. Radio stations suck. Heard it before so I know its good. This was back when Metallica was good and not sell outs. Received in timely manner and good price. Although im a dying breed who still buys CD's.

Groundbreaking album - influential and filled with outstanding songs. "Creeping Death" still stands tall as one of the quintessential Metallica songs. "Fade to Black" is undoubtedly one of the most important songs in Metallica's history.

There are a couple of duds on here, but Ride the Lightning, Fade to Black and For Whom the Bell Tolls make this one a classic Metallica release.

My first Metallica record, at almost 40 years of age. I was amazed how much I liked it. Awesome stuff. Call of Kutulu ruled.

While it isn't as good as Master of Puppets, Ride the Lighting is a solid thrash metal release.

I consider myself a very, very casual fan of Metallica. So much so that I really am only familiar with singles and other songs that are shown to me from friends and family. I discovered this album in the "discount" bin for $5.99 and figured I would pick it up. It's a solid album that holds up pretty well for it's age. I wonder how it would sound if this exact lineup were to record it to day (at the age they originally recorded it). If you find it in such a bin and always wondered, it's worth it.

Metallica second album, ride the lightning is still a masterpiece after all these decades. This or master of puppets is where all new Metallica fan should start out. This remaster CD sounds excellent and is only out done by the high res version.

I cannot tell any difference in this remastered version compared to any of the others. I do like the new digipaks, in some instances. This is a cheaper version of the modern digipak or what they now call a slip case but it seems to be ok.. big difference between zaps Physical Graffiti slipcase and these Metallica ones...

This is a great album by Metallica, that shows a lot of growth from their first album (Kill'em All), and hints at what they would become. It's not Master of Puppets (their best album), but it is certainly better than anything they've put out since the black album. Fade to Black is a classic.

The most noticeable difference here is that it is louder. When compared to the CD from the 80s, there is definitely a difference and the individual instruments come through with more clarity.

Although not as good as "The Black" album, its still an album to get if you are a fan of Metallica or heavy metal. This albums offers the smash singles "Fade to Black, Ride the Lightning, and For Whom the Bells Tolls."

I bought the remastered version of Ride the Lightning and it has not disappointed. The only song that I'd rate "good" instead of "great" is the title track. All the others stand on their own as powerful tunes. Well worth $5.99!

I loved this album growing up. The remastered version really brings out the bass and drums. VOlume hasn't been increased too heavily. Worth purchasing, as is one of Metallica's best albums

As any Metallica fan knows, this album does not disappoint. The remaster diminishes the quality of the music.
