This modem is not worth full price. Range, speed and set up is great and easy, but I have to reboot the thing one to two times a week. I'll come home and the wifi signal is up, but it says no internet is available. After the reboot it works fine. It's annoying to have to reboot this thing all the time.

Top of the line Arris Cable Gateway, supporting 32x8 channels, DOCSIS 3.1 standard, Wi-Fi 6 with with one 2.5 Gbps port. Despite these impressive stats the LAN component has numerous problems that Arris tech support wouldn't bother to help me figure out. Issue #1, 2 of my laptops use an almost identical model Intel wireless adapter. Prior to switching out my previous model Arris gateway both of these laptops connected wirelessly fine. These 2 laptops see other neighbors networks in range just not this gateway. The workaround was to uninstall the Intel Wi-Fi driver and use a generic Microsoft driver. Arris support simply told me to contact Intel. 2nd issue is Chromecast doesn't allow me to cast anything to it via Ethernet, only wirelessly but my Wi-Fi signal in this room is poor to the gateway. The previous Arris gateway allowed me to cast via Ethernet with Chromecast. Once again Arris didn't help but referred me to Google. I should mention that I'm an A+ certified Systems Administrator, used to troubleshooting problems but this one was impossible to figure out, even after hard resetting the gateway, updating firmware on all devices. Most users that aren't too technical might not have such problems as me. I'm a power user, for the price I expect this product or support to surpass my expectations. I returned this and went with Netgear Nighthawk, everything works perfectly now, I'm through with Arris products and terrible tech support.

This is not a review of Best Buy. This is a review of the Arris G36 working with xfinity. Best Buy was great. The modem/router combo actually dropped to a lower price and BB honored that lower price with a credit. The Arris G36 reached my door in 24 hours. I replaced a no longer supported Cisco modem from 2013 with the recomendation from xfinity as being compatible and "future-proof". I figured any purchase would be an upgrade and with the G36 being the latest and greatest I thought this was goi g to be great. When the G36 arrived I changed to the fastest plan with xfinity and gave them the modem info. I now have worse reception in a 1300 sq ft home than i did with the ten year old modem. Connections continually disconnect and reconnect, and the instructions as others have said, are not clear and you end up with a setup on the app that you dont want, just to boot up, because your on with xfinity and they want to make sure its up and running. Then you realize it is no better than a 2013 router out of the box. I dont have time to set up a user name and password to read the Arris forum to learn how to tweek this. Basically its a wireless router so the things connected to the old should connect to the new. As others advised look for something else as this is not a good product for xfinity to be pushing.

Purchased this modem/router combo in March to replace a much older model. Since day one it constantly drops connection especially at night. Almost everyday after work I have to power cycle it just to get it working. Not recommended at all.

Okay so I got this because I had a 7-year-old router / modem combo that needed to replace. It works fine you have to nice little app to let you see the speed but it would drop connection to your devices all at once for no reason

although I got it to finally work, this modem’s wifi seems weak compared to the motorola one it replaced. the instructions and web app are very unclear marginal in utility. it took me three days to get my various wifi device to work; two of them would not work no matter what i did and had to be replaced. of the ones that i did get working it was only because i had to erase all previous wifi networks and create new ones - what a pain! the two devices that would never work turns out to work just fine on another wifi network with a different brand modem of same specifications.

It usually works good. It was cheaper for me to buy this than to rent one from my internet provider.

My TV's internet is disconnected often. Rarely happened with old modem. It does save me money by not having to rent one for my internet provider. The connection isn't lost for too long, but long enough and often enough to be aggravating

We purchased this modem to replace the one we were renting from internet provider. It was easy to install. So far we have had not had issues connecting to the internet just issues with streaming service, like not loading and stopping.

Complicated. Not worth the high pice. Get something cheaper

I use Cox, I have to call them to get it installed. They don't have this model in their installation list. They helped me over the phone for more than an hour. On the first day it was not working. On the second day, it automatically worked.

In general, the fastest wifi on 5G I could get was 350-400 mbps which isn't too bad. The main problem I had was frequent disconnections - it would drop my connections for no reason, and a cause could not be found. I ended up returning it.

Very fast, but I have to reboot every other day or the speed start dropping and the surfboard app I could not make it work on my iPhone

It was great for the first week or so. Then it stopped staying connected to my network and I had to unplug the power cord and do a hard reset every few hours.

We just don’t know with this router. We have at least 15 to 20 connections drops daily. Email loading is also too slow. Nothing like our prior Arris Router.

I waited until it's been in use a while before I reveiwed it. According to Xfinity, my old modem could no longer support my internet speed and suggested this one as compatible. It may be compatible, but not better. I constantly have to re-connect my TV to the internet. It drops devices out of the blue. After a month, Ive concluded that I should have just dealt with the old slower one.

The modem is fine but the range of the signal is not great!

Easy to set up and install. I don't know why this requires 50 characters

Works okay. It drops signal regularly. Suggested by Xfinity. Almost returned it. Missed the return window.
