A: Yes it will work. I had the same issue. My closest connection needed at least 30 feet and I ran an extension under the eaves. It has been working flawlessly.

Q: How much is the monthly service?
A: No monthly service fee. I purchased the product; it's mine' I own it, and I monitor it myself.
Q: Is there an option to purchase a longer power cable?
A: I'm not sure if there is an option to purchase a longer cable in store setting or on-line. The length that came with the purchase was sufficient for me.
A: My cord is about 5'. Any excess hanging cord has been tied up with zip ties.

Easy set up
