I love the laptop. The size, the lightweight and even the pearly iridescent white color. However, it is so slow and I'll be returning it. I can't get anything done and it's so discouraging.

I bought this laptop in September 2023 because I needed something quick for school. As soon as I received it it was taking forever to load up basic websites like google, Microsoft online, etc. not worth the money. Invest into something better and save yourself the hassle. Wish I would’ve returned. You get what you pay for.

I got this as a cheap option solely for e-learning purposes when I had time at my day job, and for any on-the-go tasks I couldn't accomplish on my MacBook (i.e. Windows required). But I'll probably be giving this away because it's not even sufficient for that. Perhaps the biggest issue, as a number of other reviewers noted, is the keyboard sometimes acts as if the Shift key is being held when it isn't. This results in CAPS characters when one is typing lowercase, inadvertent text selections, etc. A workaround is to hold Ctrl + Shift + Caps Lock for a few seconds. However, the issue should not be happening in the first place. Second, it's slow. Really, really slow. Besides startup, which is reasonably quick. But it's incredibly slow in every other regard. When typing text, when browsing the internet, working with docs, etc. My 7-year old MacBook Air seems at least twice as fast as this on the same tasks. I don't know how this got so many good reviews but I'll have to take note of the bad ones more carefully from now on.

This is a tough review for me to do. I was looking for a simple laptop that I could use strictly to surf the internet. By all accounts the HP DQ3000DX should fit the bill, but there are a few things that keep it from measuring up. When unboxing the HP dq3000dx my first impression was it was heavier than I had anticipated. I was amazed with the overall look and features it includes. The body of the laptop is made of plastic and has an inexpensive feel to it to keep cost down I suppose. Feature wise, the HP includes all the usual connections, multi card reader, 2 USB-A, 1 USB-C, HDMI output and a mini jack for headphones. The keyboard layout is comfortable and responsive, with good feedback. The screen is detailed enough for this price point. The operating system is Windows 11S to keep out unauthorized apps and maintain security of the system. Memory is handled by eMMC,( embedded MultiMediaCard storage), at 64 gigabytes. The downside for me is the speed at which the commands are executed. When launching a webpage there is almost a five count for the page to load. When having more than one page open on Edge, the secondary page never loads or takes an extraordinary amount of time to load. Pages that do load seem to freeze and say “ Page is not responding, do you want to wait or close”. At first, I thought it may be because I signed into my MS account and One Drive was enabled. So I reset the HP back to factory and signed into my MS account without One Drive and the behavior was the same. I checked to make sure all of the Windows updates had been complete. What I found was there were apps running in the background from HP and other bloatware. Once I went into the Apps Start up Mgr. and shut off all the apps from starting when the HP was turned on, the speed was better, but not great. When you look at task Mgr, the CPU is constantly at 100%. For my needs this is a pass. It is just too slow to do basic computing or internet surfing.

recently purchased the HP 14" Laptop with an Intel Celeron processor and 4GB of memory. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this product, and one major drawback for me is the insufficient amount of memory. The laptop itself has a decent size and is compact enough for easy portability. The Intel Celeron processor provides adequate performance for everyday tasks such as web browsing, document editing, and multimedia consumption. Additionally, the 14" display offers a clear and vibrant viewing experience. However, the limited 4GB of memory is a significant downside. As a purchaser, I require a laptop that can handle multitasking and run multiple applications simultaneously without lag or slowdowns. Unfortunately, with only 4GB of memory, this laptop falls short in meeting my requirements. It struggles to handle resource-intensive tasks or run software that demands more memory, resulting in frustrating delays and decreased productivity. Furthermore, the laptop lacks sufficient storage space for my needs. With limited memory, I expected that the device would compensate with a more generous storage capacity. However, this was not the case, and I found myself running out of storage quickly, even with minimal files and applications installed. On the positive side, the laptop does provide a reliable battery life, allowing me to work or browse the web for a few hours without needing to constantly plug it in. It also offers a variety of connectivity options, including USB ports and an HDMI output, which is convenient for connecting external devices or displaying content on larger screens. In summary, while the HP 14" Laptop with an Intel Celeron processor has some commendable features, such as its portability and display quality, the insufficient 4GB of memory and limited storage space are significant drawbacks. As a purchaser, I would recommend considering alternative options that offer more memory and storage capacity, particularly for those who require a laptop for multitasking and resource-demanding tasks.

Bearing in mind that this is a very basic entry-level laptop, the performance of the HP dq3000dx was still a little disappointing for my needs. The price is very economical if you intend to use it for light tasks, like reading or sending an occasional email, or typing up a letter, or very light web surfing. I don’t recommend it for gaming or long video play because of the lagging and buffering I experienced. I’m sure the lag in overall performance is due to it only processing at 1.1 GHz and having 4GB of RAM, which isn’t that much in today’s world. Set up out of the box took about two and a half hours, but the majority of that time was updates installing. It comes with Windows S-mode, which I left alone instead of turning it off to be able to install other apps like I’d intended. I didn’t want to bog the system down any further. The white color of the casing is nice, and I like that the keyboard has a light wood grain look to it even though it’s plastic. I would prefer that the keyboard was backlit though because the keys are very difficult to see without light. I miss the numeric keypad also, but it didn’t surprise me that this laptop doesn’t have one. It’s great that HP included a USB C port, HDMI port, and an SD card slot in addition to the standard USB A ports and headphone jack. The laptop also comes with the typical HP power cord and port. Battery life seems to be averaging about 5-7 hours before needing a charge. I wasn’t able to get 12 hours of video playing like the specs say, but I’ll say that it has good battery life considering how slow the overall performance of the machine is. This laptop may be ideal for a younger child as a first computer or someone that may only need to get online periodically, but I don’t recommend it for anyone that doesn’t have a lot of patience.

This thing is A Piece! I’ve had great HP laptops which is why I bought this one. I know it’s entry level and I get the price point, but DANG! My ten year old iPad mini, with all its faults works faster than this new laptop. It takes FOREVER to start up. I’ve not even loaded any software or apps on it. It’s super bogged down even just to surf. I have an HP ENVY from like 7-8 years ago with an i5 processor. It’s my daily, with zero upgrades and that thing is solid and works great!! This is like a kinder toy. Looks really nice. Has great ports for plug ins. Light. But, I’d rather have an ugly heavy clunky laptop that actually works vs this sleek lightweight that just spins the flippin think circle. I would donate it to an organization, but I’m not that cruel. I’d want to bless someone not frustrate them. Bottom line: Hard Pass Yall!! Don’t get seduced by the low price point (I paid like $140-$150??). Save that money and buy a used ANYTHING of FBMP or such.

I recently purchased the HP 14" Laptop with an Intel Celeron processor, 4GB Memory, and 64GB eMMC in Snowflake White. I had hoped this budget-friendly option would meet my basic computing needs, but unfortunately, it has been a very disappointing experience. The computer's performance is notably slow, struggling with even the most basic tasks like web browsing and document editing. The Intel Celeron processor and 4GB of memory simply don't seem to keep up with today's software demands, leading to frustrating delays and a less-than-smooth user experience. Additionally, the quality of the screen is low, with poor color accuracy and viewing angles. This makes for a less enjoyable viewing experience, whether I'm trying to work or relax with a video. The Snowflake White design, while aesthetically pleasing, doesn't compensate for the lackluster performance and display quality. While I understand compromises must be made for a more affordable price point, this laptop feels borderline unusable for anything beyond the most minimal and undemanding tasks. It may be suitable for someone with very limited needs and expectations, but for anyone requiring a dependable daily computer, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. In conclusion, despite its attractive price, the HP 14" Laptop's slow performance and low-quality screen make it hard to recommend. Consider investing a little more for a significantly better computing experience. Rating: 2/5 – Disappointing performance, even for the budget-conscious.

I have had this for more than a year and is a horrible laptop. I have to buy another LT soon. The plastic sides cracked and when carried by the corner distorts the screen. the time needs to be sync manually several times a day, no it will not do it automatically. it does not have enough storage i have to keep saving my photos to other sources. The cover sticks and does not close, the keyboard always stick from the first day i owned it , i keep it very clean. please don't wast your money on these basic HP, the eMMC is garbage when it dies that is it, there is nothing you can do. Buy an SSD laptop. I do not recommend this laptop.

Worse laptop I ever bought. It is very slow, no number pad with the keys. Very light weight. The bottom gets so hot it will burn you if you pick it up to move it. Battery doesn't stay charged very long at all. I have always bought HP for the last 30 years, never got one this bad.

For the price, it is okay. Good mainly for browsing the internet. Not enough memory or storage to do much else. Didn't suit my needs. I should have returned it but I missed the window.

Understanding that this was an older model on clearance, with a bargain price of under $200, my expectation was not much as this was supposed to be a laptop for my 2 young children as they are starting to need online access for school work and the occasional "gaming" (math & reading exercises in forms of games). So they aren't holding up our work laptops. All it had to do was access emails and a few light duty websites, unfortunately it's not even capable of doing that. Computer is SLOOOOW, apps and webpages take forever to load, a 3rd party browser seems to be intentionally hampered/interfered by the built in Microsoft variety. In the end, the kids still wind up asking for our laptops. Gave it a try but this is utterly useless. If you need just browsing and emails, a smartphone can outperform this thing 100x faster. Put this $200 toward something else better.

I purchased this HP 14” laptop because the price was affordable, but unfortunately, it just didn’t meet my expectations. The build quality felt very cheap—almost like thin plastic—and it didn’t feel sturdy or durable at all. The performance was also limited, likely due to the lower memory and storage. Definitely for young stude t learning to use computer.

I've had this laptop for about 2 years and for the most part I had no complaints. But recently, it gets hot, lags a lot, and sometimes the screen turns black. It definitely can't handle anything crazy, but for general schoolwork and watching shows is all it's been able to do with minimal struggle.
