I use this almost exclusively for Apple CarPlay and I am really happy with the system overall. It's quick and easy to play music and follow Apple Maps, etc. and the integration with my iPhone 6 Plus couldn't be easier. I haven't had any big issues with it yet, aside from Spotify sometimes needing to be restarted to play music. The album artwork that displays behind the song and artist information isn't incredibly visible, but if you tweak the screen settings, you can see it a bit better. Overall, I am really pleased and happy I bought this system.

I wanted to change out my factory radio for the longest now, but I didn't quite have the funds to make the changes I wanted, so I waited and went up to the store and browsed the section of radios and came across this one, I played with this radio in store for about 30 mins, my main thing was making sure it didn't lag when I touched any of the apps, and it passed. When I enter my jeep it automatically connects to my Bluetooth and start playing music, I'm fine with it doing this because I have a pretty good playlist, if I do say so myself lol. But Apple CarPlay is amazing everything works like it's suppose to I simply love it! Having Bluetooth in my car makes it so fun and puts my mind at ease knowing I do not have to look at my phone.

Not bad for the price. Seri lags a bit but overall worth $400 with free geek squad installation

It would be perfect if it was xm radio compatible. Other than that it is awesome.

The stereo sounds great, first of all. I am loving using carplay. Still getting used to is but so far it rocks. I have a backup camera hooked up and it works well with the system. Hopefully a few more apps show up but even if the app isnt on the stereo everything seems to work fine so far. I have mainly used Maps and podcasts so far but listening to XM through the phone works well too. I am using and iPhone 7plus with my setup if that helps anyone.

I put this in a 1998 Toyota Avalon XLS. It made it have luxury features that most modern luxury sedans enjoy. It has hands free calling, a backup camera, Bluetooth music and HD radio. CarPlay is great although sometimes the app crashes. GPS makes driving where there is no signal easy to navigate. I even created a custom jpg image that matches the car interior and logo. Good radio for the price and for those who want to modernize their cars.

This system is a great alternative for those of us that have non touch screen radios. Set up was quick and works great. Apple CarPlay has a few issues, every time u plug in u have to hit ok to accept some safety statement which is annoying as hell and it's a bit on the slow side to start up but once it gets started it works great. Siri works amazingly well for texting and calls, I was very impressed. The non Apple CarPlay features work great as well. Bluetooth works seamlessly and is hassle free. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone interested in getting it. The only issue I had was there are 2 USB slots in the back and the Best Buy service guy did not leave me access to the 2nd USB slot which is the only slot u can use to update the firmware on the device...make sure u tell them to leave access to this slot if u use them to install. Other than that no issues were had.

I've read a lot of mixed reviews on this product and so far I'm pleased. A lot of people have had negative reviews purely because of Apple Carplay but I think their displeasure seems to be more with the Carplay itself and not this radio. So far the radio is great. The volume and other buttons on the side are rather small and can be difficult to use while driving. Otherwise, everything works great. It connects to my phone as soon as I get in the car. The sound quality is good, the quality of using Bluetooth for phone calls is good, and I've been pleased with all the various features. Not to mention that the radio itself looks great. I've just not been pleased with Carplay. Overall I like it but I hate having to actually plug my phone in to use it. Text messaging using voice and having to listen to them when you receive them takes getting used to but I guess it's safer than looking at your phone while driving. Sometimes when your music is interrupted by a phone call or text, it seems to have issues going back to the song. It seems like Carplay will be a good thing after it's been out for awhile and they send out some updates and fix issues but overall it's a love/hate relationship with me right now. I tend to use the Bluetooth through the radio more than I connect it to Carplay right now. But overall I am pleased with this purchase.

The unit was a easy install & use is pretty simple. Didn't come with an owners manual though & i cant get the time & date straight! Good sound & I like the Bluetooth hook-up. Works well with my IPhone & answers calls in a nice fashion.

The CarPlay works very well and is pretty easy to use since everything on it replicates the Iphone. It's too bad more apps don't work with it such as Waze or other navigation apps. The Appradio side of this unit works pretty good as well but seams to be a bit glitchy. It is nice that you can use apps like Waze but again they can be glitchy (display can go upside down when phone is upside down) I wish Pioneer could integrate the two different sides of this unit to allow use of both Appradio and CarPlay without having to switch cords and change the settings. Overall it is a good stereo with some nice audio features and to be able to use some of your iPhone apps on the screen is a plus.

I like this product a lot. It's easy to use, and a great sound. The one thing I wish it had was a physical non for volume. Would make changing volume easier during driving

I had this installed in 09/2015 into a 2003 Nissan Maxima. My factory Bose unit was starting to cut in and out, so it was time to look for a replacement. I liked the idea of the CarPlay, and this does not disappointment. Siri reads and takes messages, I like being able to use maps (although Apple maps are still not as good as Google), I can control my music with my factory steering wheel controls (optional Metra harness), and the bluetooth is flawless. Bluetooth connects quickly and the external mic works great. Callers say that my voice is very clear. One downside on my car is that the factory subwoofer did not work after installation, so my music was little flat until i got a replacement sub and amp. (That's another story.) I purchased the Best Buy Geek Squad Professional Install and it was done well, although my only complaint was that the loss of the sub signal was neither explained (if a known issue) nor, if not a known issue, was it diagnosed after the installation. An extra expense I was not factoring into the overall expense. But I'm happy now, my car has a new life with all of the modern radio features (I don't miss the CD player - I never used it anyway). I would like to see HD radio as a future option, and the FM sensitivity, while decent, is a little weaker than some other radios. Very good radio.

I had looked at several in-dash receivers and ended up picking this Pioneer touch screen. I added the back-up camera as well. Everything works pretty flawlessly. The BT, every once in a while, will not connect, but it's very seldom. The responsiveness to the iPhone is very good. I like that I have USB and the audio jack. It looks really nice in my Camry too. One pleasesnt surprise is the speaker sound now - I was hoping the sound would be different so I wouldn't have to upgrade the speakers and the sound is awesome.

For me, CarPlay is unusable for calls. The call quality isn't there. I'm not sure if this is an Apple issue or a Pioneer issues, but this doesn't seem to be an issue I hear complaints with in cars with factory CarPlay. The home button should be able to be remapped when in CarPlay. A brief tap brings you to CarPlay's home, a long press brings you to the Pioneer home screen. A rotary volume knob would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, just have on screen controls with a larger viewable area and allow me to disable them. I understand this is not consensus, but I still feel like this is the better user design choice. The next/prev buttons should be reversed. The next button on top of the previous button feels awkward. You read left to right or up to down. Previous comes before next. I want an option to turn on the reverse camera without putting the vehicle in reverse. This is an option my old Pioneer radio had, why did they remove it? This isn't a /bad/ radio, but it is plagued by issues. If you want a CarPlay radio, look elsewhere.

It works perfectly. I’ve installed this system along with back up camera (pioneer) and it works nicely. Touchscreen is quite responsive and controls are easy to use. System works with iPhone, apple CarPlay, but I am not sure if it supports android auto or not as I never tried it. Only one disadvantage I can think of, there are no dedicated mute button (doesn’t bother me as I programmed by steering wheel control to do mute now).

This radio is everything that I have been wanting sense Apple CarPlay first came out. This radio is simple and easy to use, I installed it myself which was also not an incredibly hard process. The radio so far works like a breeze I love it and for the price point I would not pay more because I didn't see enough differences between models above that I would use. If you are on the fence for sure buy this, it's incredible and I have no regrets!

Purchased this due to the integration with Apple CarPlay. The receiver is excellent. It connects to your phone via bluetooth, and there is a USB connector as well. Best Buy did the install and were really great to deal with. The microphone provide voice control with Siri. This is installed right about the rear view mirror. The touch screen is very visible and easy to use. Very happy with the retrofit on my 2010 Honda CRV.
