From my knowledge. When I installed my camera I tied it into my reverse lights in the tail lights. There is a small purple wire that went into the dash to tie into you camera wire on the radio. That will let it know that there is a connection at the camera for power and will change over directly. Depending on the radio there might be a setting you have to change over completely so it will do it
