• A:Answer I have an aftermarket radio with the reverse gear wire (purple/white stripe). I also have the short red wire. I tried connecting the short red wire to the harness and it works. However, the red wire that runs all the way back to the camera, keep the reverse lights on. Imagine that. Just as a test, I connected it to the rear lights. They came on. I unhooked the red wire and the lights came off. However, I am stuck. I have no idea what is going on. Anyone with a good answer??? Thank you.

• A:Answer Not sure how clear you want it, you wouldn't be able to identify a criminal in a police line up solely from this camera at night, but I have no problems navigating parking spots and my driveway with no lighting other than my backup lights.

Q: QuestionImage is reversed on screenI had Geek Squad install this backup camera in combination with a Kenwood DDX372BT unit. The image from the back-up camera is reversed. So in other words an object on the passenger side of the vehicle displays on driver side of the screen. Is this something that can be changed in a setting or something?

• A:Answer If the Geek Squad Autotechs installed the unit and you still have your yellow paperwork from the installation invoice they offer a lifetime guarantee on their workmanship. the tech either cut the loop wire or forgot to cut it. it should be an easy fix. give your local store a call!!

But regardless it does have a good view and I would recommend it and if you are on a budget It is good to get... I was told that to get one that makes sounds when you get close to an object would cost an additional $300- $500 (if I remember the price range right)...

Q: QuestionI want to get this for my husband to help with hitching the trailer and backing down the ramp. Not exactly product specific, will this camera work for this use? Will it see to line up the hitch that close? Is there a better mounting design for this use?

• A:Answer My camera is mounted on top of my license plate and does a decent job with lining you up when your backing up to your trailer. Not 100% perfect but closer than jumping in and out of your truck 20 times checking your distance. Hope this helped.

• A:Answer It depends on how you wire it and the capabilities of the monitor you connect it to. You can connect the camera power wires to a circuit that turns on all the time (cig lighter), on when your in accessory or ignition mode (radio), or just in reverse (reverse lights). Or you can add a switch to control it manually. Being powered with accessories or reverse lights would be best to prevent from draining your battery if you forget to turn off the camera. Which circuit you choose may also depend on what monitor/radio you connect it to and how it detects video. On my system the radio has a connection to the reverse circuit so it switches the display to the backup camera automatically. Others may work differently. I would guess that in most cases the camera is wired to be on whenever the ignition is on, and the display/radio controls when it displays the camera image by detecting reverse or allowing the backup camera image to display. ( I can turn on the camera from my radio touchscreen even when not in reverse.)

Q: QuestionI'm having this camera installed on my Chevy Silverado. But - I'm thinking of having another camera installed on the front as well. My Kenwood system will accept two camera inputs per the documentation. Is this something others have done?

• A:Answer I have a kenwood system as well. Yes it possible, but the system wont record your front camera, it would need it owns recording function. This specific back up camera is terrible I would suggest something else. On your dash you can toggle the two camera inputs.
