Not sure how clear you want it, you wouldn't be able to identify a criminal in a police line up solely from this camera at night, but I have no problems navigating parking spots and my driveway with no lighting other than my backup lights.

To get good video feed at night, make sure your back up or reverse lights are bright. I switch my my lights from incandescent to LEDs pure white. I see everything in the video at night with this camera.

This isn't the camera for you. The quality is terrible, especially at night.

These are not fancy high end cameras. THey are going to be grainy in low light situations. As long as you can see what might be behind you as you back up, you should be OK. You are not relying on the camera for navigation, driving at high speed, etc. You should lower your expectations as these are not high definition, or infra-red, cameras.
