A: AI Overview Yes, the Rexing R88 4K dash cam is removable, as the camera unit clips onto a separate, adhesive-mounted windshield bracket. To remove it, you typically slide the camera off the mount after unplugging the power cord and any other attached cables, like the rear camera cable. This design allows you to easily detach the camera to review footage on a computer or take it with you. How to remove the dash cam IS THE ABOVE TRUE? Unplug all cables: Before removing the camera from the mount, make sure to unplug the power cord and the cable for the rear camera. Detach from the mount: Slide the camera unit off the mounting bracket. Some models may require pressing a release button, but the common method is a simple slide-off, notes Amazon.com customer reviews.
A: You can use the REXING CONNECT app via WIFI, or a card reader to plug the SD card into your phone or PC.
Q: Is Wifi required to record? Or just required to see videos on the app?
A: Wifi and app not needed to record. It will save videos to the included memory card
A: The WiFi connection is an absolute nightmare. It takes forever to connect and if your vehicle has apple car play or android it will adapt to that first. So far I’m not happy with the Rexing brand. For all that money there shouldn’t be issues with this new unit. The Rexing app sucks.
A: Yes, everything is included.
A: The rear camera is intended to be mounted inside the car

The cameras look really modern and compact, and they blend in nicely on the windshield without feeling bulky. The 4K video quality from both the front and rear cameras is super clear so you can easily read license plates and road signs. Having both cameras included right out of the box is a huge plus. I also like that it uses USB-C, so it works with most of the chargers I already have. The touchscreen is responsive, and the large screen makes it easy to review footage directly on the device. It even comes with an SD card, which saved some money to buy one. Overall, it feels well-built and does exactly what I wanted — great quality, easy to use, and reliable.

This new Rexing R88 is a real game changer from my 10 year old Garmin dash cam. I realized I needed a new dash cam when the poor resolution of my old one was not sufficient to clearly see what I needed, plus it did not have enough memory capability even with the largest allowed memory card to store more than a couple hours of video. When I tried to download the event I needed on my old unit it had already looped and erased the file. It was time for an upgrade. My shopping led me to the Rexing R88 dash cam for several reasons: 1. I own another Rexing for my other vehicle and it has been flawless for over 8 years. I trust the name brand reliability. 2. This model has front and rear cameras. I am replacing a front only system but seriously wanted a rear cam. Drivers seem to tailgate more frequently these days and I worry about being rear ended. 3. I needed a cam with large memory capability to prevent loop over recording like my older unit. The R88 can handle 256GB which is many hours of recording. The Best Buy R88 includes a 128GB card which should provide ample hours of recording at normal resolutions without worrying about loop over. 4. The Best Buy model comes with a hardwire kit to eliminate the cigarette lighter plug which I used on my older unit and always seemed to get in the way. Yes, these are available separately but it is nice that it is included with the Best Buy R88. 5. The WiFi feature and the Rexing app for iPhone work great eliminating the need to pull the memory card for video review. Simply turn on the internal WiFi and connect to the iPhone and choose the video file you need to download to the phone. Mounting the dash cam to my windshield took a bit of planning to be perfect. I have never used an electrostatic film so I had to learn why it is included in the package. I discovered it would be OK to just to stick the included double-sided tape directly to the dash cam and then stick on the windshield but it would be difficult to remove when the time came. I had this problem removing my old dash cam. I was able to use a knife to pry my old one off the windshield but it was a chore. With the electrostatic film removal will be much easier when the time comes. The electrostatic film included in the package is actually twice as large as necessary and I learned that you do not want to have the lens looking through the film as it distorts the image (mainly at night). I cut the film in half lengthwise and it gave me two pieces that have a small border larger than the size of the mounting tape but small enough for the lens to see under it. The overall size of the unit is smaller than expected and it fits very neatly under the Honda CRV rearview mirror. Running the wires to the windshield and rear cam was very straightforward. I took time to tuck it under the trim to keep it invisible which was a bit of effort but worth it in the end. Having the hardwire adapter allowed use the dash cam without the cigarette lighter plug wire which is a much cleaner look. There are three resolutions that can be chosen for recording. The 4K setting gives amazingly clear video images but takes up more memory which is less total recording time on the memory card. I found the 1080p setting to give extremely clear video but nearly twice the total recording time so I am using that setting for now. I have not driven long enough yet to see how many total hours the 128gb card will hold but I know it will be plenty for many hours of record time. In conclusion, I am extremely pleased with my new Rexing R88 dash cam. It was not the cheapest unit but given all its features and included options (rear camera, hardwire kit, 128gb memory card), I find it to be a very good buy.

Really impressed with this Rexing new dash cam R88 so far. Both cameras record in full 4K (4096 × 2160), and the Sony STARVIS sensors make a huge difference in low light, night footage looks surprisingly clear. The 170° wide field of view captures a lot of detail around the car, and I like that it supports loop recording in 1, 2, or 3 minute intervals. The 4-inch screen (960 × 240 resolution) is easy to navigate, and transferring clips over the 5.8GHz built-in Wi-Fi to my iPhone is quick. GPS logging works flawlessly, showing both speed and route history. Setup was simple with the suction mount, and the G-sensor automatically locks clips when there’s sudden movement or an impact. I also like that it supports expandable storage with a microSD card, so I never have to worry about running out of space. Definitely a solid, feature-packed dash cam for the price.
